hey this is Frank this is a 2007 Toyota Corolla with a 1.8 lit 1zz engine the muffler on this car has some holes that are due to corrosion and they make uh really horrible sound this is the replacement Muffler that I'm going to put in the car it's a walker exhaust 53720 that you can get for about a 100 bucks and I'll provide a link to it in the video description in this video I'm going to quickly go through the process of replacing this Muffler and check the fitment of the new
[Music] muffler the muffler is held in by two bolts with 14 mm heads these can be zipped off really quickly these are the two bolts with their Springs came came right out of this flange the next step is to get the hanger off the frame for this I use this exhaust hanger plier this use is pretty self-explanatory I'll include a link to this tool in the description there's a second hanger to the front that I also remove using this tool here's the old Muffler side by side with the new muffler the old Muffler there's other issues like the tailpipe is uh almost uh U detached from the muffler body and there's some additional holes on top definitely this Muffler was due for replacement I'm installing a new gaskit on the flange and I'll provide a link in the video description the muffler is installed everything is in place one thing I did not notice before is this exhaust flange came without the welded nuts that are present on the original exhaust by this I mean these two welded nuts right here so this means you have to provide two M10 by 1.25 thread nuts to fasten your exhaust flange the rear hanger is in place and the front hanger is also in place so let's lower it down and see what it sounds like this is a view of where it sits under the car we still have a little bit of a problem due to this exhaust flange on the car side being rusted and having a leak but that's not the fault of the muffler I hope you've enjoyed this video thank you for watching
