In vanilla I had the pre nerf Invulnerable Mail chest on my enhancement shaman. It gave you a paladin shield off a chance on being hit. No melee class could touch me and live, especially rogues. People used to think I was cheating. They heavily nerfed it after a while when people started to hear about it. It was so good that main tanks started using it and it was a Mail chest.
Isn't robe of the archmage technically better than robe of volatile power until some of the later phases because the spellpower gives more DPS than the crit does in phase 1 along with more int?
Most overpowered raiditem (for spellcaster, specially healers) was the original green offhand Spirit of Aquementas wich got nerfed pretty damn fast. "Decreases mana cost to all spells by 25."
I don't think that MSA is the Vanilla version i'm guessing the item numbers from the naxx reboot weaps are the same, when naxx dropped we farmed 2 for every fury warrior and even a couple of our tanks because they proc'd an extra attack and then a second attack all diminishing from the original attacks that triggered them but they all could proc the extra attack, we had a fury warriors going into AQ40 farms half tracking every other class including firemages to the point they would basically sit around till 80% to start dps maybe less if they didn't have the threat drop trinket so that they would not pull threat and die halfway through the fight. there was also some flavor text about the springs or something explaining the extra attacks.
Would have loved to see Ironfoe, Hand of Edward the odd and Darkmooncard:Blue Dragon on this list. First one can last up until naxx, the second I as a paladin have used quite frequently after the lucky drop and the third I personally have not replaced until T5 in TBC.

hey punkrat.. kiss of the spider is good for ranged like hunters as well... just a heads up. ann that mish'undare caster helm is only good if you don't have the full set of netherwind.. otherwise the netherwind helm is your BIS so you get your full set bonus.
Wouldn't other players have a fit if I tried to roll on that cloth helm (Mish-undare) for my paladin, though? Or is it a fairly common practice? (Back when I played Vanilla, you'd get screamed at for rolling on cloth if you had plate)

My vanilla guild set my pally up as an AoE tank to speed run level 60 5 mans. 5/5 avengers, TF and skullflame shield was utterly broken. I didn’t even need mitigation because the mages could burn so hard nothing had time to hit me. I was definitely a special case. i guess druids dont exist. the tanking items are warrior only but druids can also be an efficient off tank. feral dps druids can use the same as rouges. the neck from nefarion is good for both feral tank and dps. agi increases armor and in cat form gives 1ap per point of agi

"Clutching their butt holes" xD
Why not include the dropp %?
Because we dont know them? Private Servers can be wrong
roflmaoen1 for you it’s 0%
Isn't robe of the archmage technically better than robe of volatile power until some of the later phases because the spellpower gives more DPS than the crit does in phase 1 along with more int?
The sword of a thousand truths 😂😂😂
I think Onslaught Girdle from Rag deserves an honorable mention :)
Most overpowered raiditem (for spellcaster, specially healers) was the original green offhand Spirit of Aquementas wich got nerfed pretty damn fast. "Decreases mana cost to all spells by 25."
There is a certain brooch from aq40 that is a bis trinket until late wotlk
Hey mate you forgot quickstrike ring from MC for Warriors. Last forever.
its rly good, but you got alot of other rings that aint that far off :P
FINALLY a youtuber who knows how to pronounce Maexxna!
What? How else do people pronounce it lol? It can't be that butchered 😱
@@Ayayron_e3 a certain youtuber i have watched pronounced it Maxxena. so yeah...
@@LikeVenom18 sounds like hamsterwheel
Would have loved to see Ironfoe, Hand of Edward the odd and Darkmooncard:Blue Dragon on this list. First one can last up until naxx, the second I as a paladin have used quite frequently after the lucky drop and the third I personally have not replaced until T5 in TBC.
@Alistair Bolden Still bis for spellpower ret palas which I tryed on privateservers after vanilla and do more dps than 2hander.
I wonder why the blue item "Hand of Justice" is not on that list
No mention of Ironfoe either, which was easily BIS for fury warrior until AQish. Extra attack procs were pretty op in general in vanilla.
@@Silamon2 There was a Sword from a quest i think alliance only which granted an extra attack too cant remember the name (Desolace)
@@izutheone Thrashblade I think
Kiss of the spider is BIS for fury war before rogue, since if affect the "energy system" of only 1 class.
Great video i agree fully with all the items listed, a little salty no sulfuras was mentioned it's BiS for ret palas and enhancement in both pvp and pve until r14 and then finally might of menethil and available at launch, not to mention how sick it is for warriors with the top end dps and slow speed in pvp :)
R.i.p. protection paladins.
Another great video punkrat
9:24 if only. it took my server 3 months to get the LionHeart Helm pattern to drop. Horde finally got one about 2 weeks ago. i still cant afford the damn thing. the guy is charging 300g to craft plus i have to get the mats.
Great video. Nice edit
Couple the ZG trinket and the AV or MC spell buff trinket with the trinket stacking ability those were the two trinkets that changed how wow dealt with GCD's so I put those combos as the most OP trinkets since they changed so much and how we play to this day.
One of the best Classic content creators on YT
hey punkrat.. kiss of the spider is good for ranged like hunters as well... just a heads up. ann that mish'undare caster helm is only good if you don't have the full set of netherwind.. otherwise the netherwind helm is your BIS so you get your full set bonus.
Wouldn't other players have a fit if I tried to roll on that cloth helm (Mish-undare) for my paladin, though? Or is it a fairly common practice? (Back when I played Vanilla, you'd get screamed at for rolling on cloth if you had plate)
not as a holy paladain. most healing paladins wore cloth until deeeep into T3. look at old MC fights- all the pallys wearing clothskirts XD
@@tiyangina3571 Good to know. Thanks!
So how long does Atiesh last into BC, and which class is it actually better for?
I fail to see why you included all Legendaries but Sulfuras?
Because Thunderfury and Atiesh are actually bis weapons for mainstream builds and Sulfuras is not ?
@@Mytelefe Pretty sure it was impactful enough to make the list still, no? Arms warriors must've had a nice time with it? Sure, not the slowest of 2h-ers but still packs a punch with a trigger effect and pretty fair stats
the sword of a thousand truth is still the best
Hi Punk, can you do an absolute classic BiS list for each class or at least armor type?)
It would be more interesting if it were based on what raid tier. Other wise its basically just going to be T3/naxx gear.
@@axiss7437 yes, all bis lists should be bis for each phase.
What normalization of attack speed cuz I seen the stats their isn’t atk spd modifier
Any items that survived the spellpower nerf became stupidly OP with AQ40 gear. My vanilla guild set my pally up as an AoE tank to speed run level 60 5 mans. 5/5 avengers, TF and skullflame shield was utterly broken. I didn’t even need mitigation because the mages could burn so hard nothing had time to hit me. I was definitely a special case. Our server was dead and our MT could only play a couple hours a week so we had to improvise. Offering pre raid bis to anyone willing to join our guild is the only thing that kept us alive.
Bre & dark edge of insanity
the volatile robe is better than the robe of the archmage?
You never Mention that some of those Trinkets or necks are also best for hunter.
Skull of Imp Doom. Alternate BiS green legendary for all classes. That OP.
it is the trinket from arathi highlands that give a 5 sec stun. :)
I’m missing my: “you know the drill soldiers!”
lol, i was about to QQ about the titanic leggings.. b4 u put it in there. Good heads up!
and i always thought they messed up with Atiesh, you should be able to go into crow form and fly if you had it.
Love this, man. Thank you, and peace my brother!
having not played classis back in the day, how good was the hand of rag?
Was good in pvp for Ench shamans, Rets, MS warriors, but specs with 2-handed weapons rarely got invited to the raid, so I personally never seen anyone using it in boss fights, unfortunately.
Why isnt Bonereavers Edge on here? It can make a warrior in tanking gear top of the DPS meters...
All I hear is healer tank rogue!
What should a hunter use then?
That’s right nothing if it was up to everyone else
Yea I noticed the same. Does this dude hate hunters or something wtf. He mentions nothing but best for rogue or fury warriors like dude that agi neck is amazing for a hunter wtf...
I mean, we all know that every weapon is hunter weapon, so we don't really need to mention hunters.
Does phase 1 have weapon speed normalization?
Arcanite Reaper, 2 handed axe, was a big upgrade for me in classic
It was easily the best pre raid weapon for most people, and probably as good or better than a lot of the molten core weapons!
thanks dude. always a good time!
i guess druids dont exist. the tanking items are warrior only but druids can also be an efficient off tank. feral dps druids can use the same as rouges. the neck from nefarion is good for both feral tank and dps. agi increases armor and in cat form gives 1ap per point of agi
kiss of the spider is BIS for hunters until Black temple/Zul'Aman (whichever is released first)
What hapend to Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting? vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=19361 As a hunter you dont replace it until Khel and if you get full Nax Gear Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting goes back to being the best again
When you were talking about how slow the swords are its not really the speed of the weapon as much as it is the top end dmg of the weapon. So even though the r14 sword is slower the ripper has higher top end dmg and is better.
Slow main hand weapons crit harder, that's why sword/mace rogues or dual wielding Warriors use a slow main hand and a fast offhand.
not coll man! you left out feral druids, when mentioning some dps items.
And hunters.. he said fury warriors should take the agility gear over a hunter. Hes insane
Whats a feral druid? Level spec?
@@bellyrubs3283 tank, dps and pvp
@@brodelnaz you mean tank, dps and heal, all of which can be done better by other classes.
@@IceGeck0 no I meant I said. You're not going to heal as a feral druid and no not all classes are better at tank and dps in pvp than a druid. Druid > warrior in bg's all day
How do slower weapons do more damage after normalization?
Many skills scale of weapon damage. Which means they do more damage on slow weapons. But as the cooldowns and cost of these spells stay the same, you still want slower weapons to get more bang for your buck.
@@Zwiebel4
Normalization for 2h weapons calculate the damage based on 3.4 attack speed regardless of weapon attack speed. Normalization changed that and didn't use the weapons actual damage. That's what normalization means
Great video!
I used the scarab trinket up to SSC in BC
why is it good for slow weapon speed?
You always want the slowest weapon possible on a warrior because it gives you better burst damage during the small windows you get to attack in pvp.
Slower wep also gives more power to abillitys
@@Gon.Freecss Not really, no. The difference is pretty small for instant attacks.
@@Silamon2 it does tho. It says "310% weapon damage" as a example then you want a slower once becouse the damage is higher
@@Gon.Freecss Weapon damage for instant abilities are normalized after patch 1.8. Classic is on patch 1.12, so it is normalized.
One handed weapons are calculated as having 2.4 speed for instant attacks, two handed normalized as 3.3, daggers 1.7 and ranged 2.8.
Weapon damage matters a little for those hits but nowhere near as much as it did before patch 1.8, which was when stuff like the arcanite reaper was hailed as op.
Edit:
wow.gamepedia.com/Normalization If you want to know more about it. The difference between an instant attack from a 3.0 speed and a 3.8 speed of the same dps is quite small. Barely noticeable even, compared to pre 1.8 when a 3.8 could be hitting an extra 500 or more.
Wait...isn't Karazhan BC?
