Great video. It'd be really helpful to get some tips on how to apply this over curved exhaust pipes, or other complicated shapes. Keep up the good work and I'll be buying some of your products for my build here soon!

Would you recommend to put the gap on the top side, or bottom side?

Great question. The gap would normally go where the airflow can take away the heat. For instance if you are trying to keep heat out of the floors you would aim the gap to the bottom of the pipe facing the ground and away from the floors so the air flow can take the heat away from under the car. Hope this helps.

What is the point of the gap? are you not just letting heat out? You go to all the trouble of wrapping the pipe to prevent heat loss but now there is a good amount of pipe left exposed.

Gap is recommended as the silica pad holds in a lot of heat, the gap allows the pipe to breathe. It is a recommendation.

I think I'd put another tie in the middle.

Every six inches is what we would suggest.

The only thing wrong with my SUV are the exhaust heat shields that rattle on bumps. I tried metal zip ties and extra fasteners to no avail. A heat shield like this should prevent this issue.

They are held right on the pipe so there is no rattle.

If headers have been ceramic coated can you still use this product ?

We do not use ceramic coating so we have not tested that. You may run the risk of over insulating your exhaust. It is your car and we would never tell you what to do with your car. Just make sure you are using a good quality steel.
