I like how all the videos on replacing the cabin filter conveniently have the big tab visible at :58 on the bottom right of the panel being removed IN FRONT OF the side kick panel. This tab is BEHIND the side kick panel and is really the only thing that makes the job a little difficult. The rest is all pretty straight forward. The panel needs to be rotated over the top of the side panel to remove the panel.

It wasn’t as easy as video shows unless you’re 5ft tall. Tough working underneath in a black environment. Instructions were almost right on. There is a plastic lever in middle of panel that has to be disengaged after you take light cable off. Also the slide for the filter isn’t perfectly aligned and it takes a little finesse to get it seated just right.

Working underneath the glovebox can be tricky due to the tight spacing. Thank you for the additional tips!

Thanks for the video...Install was straight-forward, tho' as stated above, the slide was a bit wonky on the reinstall... I did not need to remove the padding under the carpet, but there's no science or effort to doing it, just a bit lazy on my part...

What are the signs that you need to replace your cabin air filter?

You should replace your cabin air filter once a year or every 15,000 miles. A dirty cabin air filter filter could be filled with debris like leaves, pollen, and dust. If you live in an area with a lot of smog or around a lot of trees you might want to consider replacing it more often because you'll have more debris that may clog up the filter. Stale odors can also be caused by a dirty cabin air filters.
