I didn't know someone like you existed until a couple of days ago, I watched two videos of yours and you inspire me. The culture I am brought up in, is not very encouraging, is not very kind and honest. I am 26 from India, I don't think any teacher or parent or anyone ever told me "You can, you have the potential". And I am not sulking in self-pity, not at all, but all I got is empathy, nobody ever told them they are special, they've got it in them. I realized by my own what "finding VOICE" is. And I am not carrying this culture with me since past few years and the life to come.
I love the power of parables - sounds like you are talking about me thanks Brendon. I am on a mission to raise 1 million women's voices in South Africa through the power of parables and I am so grateful to have you inspire me through your work
A very touching and moving video Brendon! That little girl was me too fortunately this little girl got her voice back at 19, I didn't get mine back till I was in my later 40's. Now I volunteer to inspire our youth not to be held hostage in domestic violence, fear and bullying. We need more of your seminars in our schools. Thank you Brendon for your work. I am so proud to be your student! Your mentorship, teachings and trainings are one of a few that has help me find my voice! Big Hugs
I'm an elementary school teacher, and I was at Experts Academy when Brendon told this story. I was laughing, crying, and more motivated as a teacher than I have been after two education degrees and hundreds of hours of teacher pro-d. That's why we love Brendon...he is always THE TEACHER FIRST! That's why I'm going back to Brendon's "World's Greatest Speaker Training" this summer...because I know it will make me a better teacher! Never doubt Brendon cares for his students more than anything.
Brendon, this was once of the most moving stories I ever heard. I am sitting at my job crying ( I am a very emotional person). You are so right. There is a massive need of giving support to people. A slap on the back. A compliment. Listening. You made me realize that I have been doing this for people because no one has ever done it for me. I don't do it all the time, but after watching this video I will be more aware of this need. I remember when I was watching this kid standing to sing. I was standing behind her. I don't remember the circumstances, but I was telling them that they can do it. It was so important for me to give this kid my support. There are so many people out in the world who don't have voices. Who are not acknowledged for who they are.
Brendon....way to make me weep man! Your heart for people and the way you communicate it resonates so deeply. God Bless you! So happy to have joined the Experts Academy - Thought Leader Roadmap!
Brendon: Youi are not only a teacher you are an inspiration to others! Keep it up... the world needs you. Best wishes and blessings, Miguel Moreno The Leadership institute
Brendon!!! That was moving and beautiful. I am a teacher - first in K-12, and now at the university level. Your story about Sarah is an example of what teacher's go through everyday, yet I learned something new - and was inspired again - for the calling of teaching. Thank you!!
Thanks Brendan for your inspiring video! It brought back a memory of my College Drama teacher. I thought I spoke quite loud but, people always asked me to repeat. My teacher, after trying several ways to encourage me to project, stood up and started moving towards the back of the auditorium and kept saying 'I can't hear you...' I had to repeat the lines louder each time. I got more and more frustrated till I finally shouted out the lines and then promptly broke into tears. The entire class including the teacher gave me a standing ovation. I will always be grateful for her help in teaching me that the 'spoken word' needs to be 'heard' in order to be understood and appreciated. Thanks again for sharing - you are an awesome teacher!
"Love Your Work" ***** you are truly amazing, and It was such a pleasure to meet you in Australia... You are changing the world, one person at a time, me included... thank you from the bottom of my heart
Must have been one of your biggest lessons learned, Brendon, when actually not willing to support somone like Sarah who has been shy and needy of 100 tries, and after challenging her so badly/greatly, receiving such a result! Glad Sarah glued to your offer, glad you did what you offered in first place! This story sure is very inspiring for your listeners.
I loved this story. It is amazing when someone gets transformed from being "lost" to being "found". Let us add value to others and lift them to heights they have never before thought possible
I've heard this story before at one or two of your events and I still listened to it again. It's one of those that you like to hear again and again even though you know how it turns out. I hope Sarah is out there somewhere and knows how inspirational her story has been to so many people! Thanks to you for putting it out there and encouraging all of us to go out and be uplifters like you are.
A master story-teller raising a message to a mission. With positive intention using the power of voice through gestures, pacing, volume, and timber to move emotions - to inspire - to take action. A very noble act.
Being told "you have potential" might not register if a person did not have an interested adult to show them what that means. Brendon, you spent time, energy, modeling and support with her. Bravo Mentor!
Thank you, Vicki! I believe Brendon’s story poignantly illustrates, in us human beings, one weakness: We are our own worst enemy, AND one strength: Imagine how much we can accomplish… only if we dare to challenge ourselves! Be it lack of confidence, be it injustice, be it bureaucracy… the first thing we need to do is to challenge ourselves to speak up literally or outwardly against the negative force inside or outside of us. Fight, not Fright is the way to accomplish things.
Thank you for this wonderful teacher story, Brendon. The story shows who you are; it shows who she is; it shows who we are: "Your Life Is Your Message."
Brendon, thank you for all of your wisdom. this moved me to tears in so many ways. i am 55 and five years ago i went back to get a Bachelors Degree. I have been looking for work and theres that crazy question they ask you "tell me about yourself" i was telling my counselor that that is the hardest thing to talk about because instructors dont teach you how to find good things about yourself, and that is just not right. i had to take some personal time and ask ppl what is good about me. then i found your videos and have learned more about me and how to be motivated more than i did with the education that i have received.
This was awesome to see again, I too was there. And once again I cried as I watched the video. What a gift to be in a room filled with amazing people. Thanks Brendon for helping me to stay true to who I am for the world.
That was beautiful. You are incredible! And the most powerful moment for me was at the end, when the camera panned around at the room full of people, standing up for their own potential, believing in your words so fully that they will go forth in the world and inspire, and change the world, and speak their voice. You are.. I am beyond words. Brendon... thank you.
It brought me into tears, You are so amazing Brendon. You are so good and kind at heart. People like you should have long and healthy life . I have joined your Achievement Accelerator program. Am very much excited about it as your first video lesson will be released tomorrow.
I can relate, no one has never told me I had potential till I was in my early 20's. I know it means much to someone when you do truly want to help someone in that state. #Incredible.
You're a fabulous, heartfelt speaker and teacher Brendan! Well done Sarah- your action has changed your life and proven your courage and determination!! The Universe responds to that, Always!
Thank you, Brendon, for the magical story and the same rendering of it! I was in tears by both, and b/c I can identify w/ Sarah due to my own shyness. Similarly also, there are people telling me, such as, "Let go of your dream!" Unfortunately, even those closest to you may not know your potential, need, drive and capabilities. But the difference between Sarah and me is: instead of getting shrunk down by these mental shackles, I am motivated by them -- b/c I want to prove these people wrong!
This is a beautiful story. A great reminder upon the potential of sharing our belief in others. It is a true inspiration to watch everyone around us living their lives to the fullest.
Bravo Brendon....I heard this story live on last year's "World's Greatest Speakers" event. I am so touched and inspired to hear it again....and it moved me deeply. I also see your awesome talent as one of ( for me you are #1) the top Speakers in the world. So much to learn from you. Will be back for more very soon. You are the BEST!
What a great video Brendon. Unfortunately, I see it all to often in my private practice as a psychotherapist. It is amazing how one can transform when given support and encouragement. Sarah was lucky to have crossed your path as we all are. Thank you Brendon for your contributions. You are amazing.
Thanks Brendon, I needed that reminder. In grade 4 my teacher told me that I should know my place because I would never amount to much. I am still struggling to overcome this at age 60.
WOW Brendon! You sure spoke from your heart! thanks for shearing this story and reminding telling others "and Don't you ever forget that You Have an Infinite Potential!"
What an amazing story Brendon!, man, you're here to be our blessing. God has given you this ticket because he knew that you would be this bless to people like me... Thank you for this inspiration you give us with such a huge humility. There are just little people at your position who expose his humanity like you did in this video. Thank you.
Brendon - you flat out rock! I got to see you tell this story in person, and it is as moving a story here on youtube. What an inspiration toward giving more to the world, and seeing what the result can be. Thanks for your mentorship! I'm all in!
To be Loved first, you must Love others the way you want to be LOVED!!! That is not easy for someone that has never been Loved.... So help them to become what they really can be!!! (Even I need support everyday)
Brendon, you are an amazing person! You are such an inspiration to me. I've been listening to your podcasts for the last few weeks and love watching your videos too! Thanks for bringing a voice to all of us!!
Great, appreciate that Brendon, life is about service and uplifting a fellow human being is the greatest one can do in this world where care & love has somewhat grown cold. You are an inspiration'
Brendon, you didn't retell the story. You RELIVED this amazing experience! Great use of vocal variety. I felt like you're singing throughout the speech. You're truly an expressive dreamer! :)
What an extraordinary story Brendon. She is truly gifted to have had you facilitating her journey in life and to be encouraged to have a sense of direction. Such an emotional story. But the reality is that teachers have that profound responsibility. I am lucky to have a teacher who highlighted my gifts as a young 13 year old. But there are many who are are unaware and through the principle of 'discipline rob children of their great spirit and innate gifts for exploration.
Wonderful, I wish someone did that for me. I'm still not using my gifts and I'm much older and still stuck. Thanks for the inspiration that it's not too late for me.
I am so glad I saw this tonight. I am on a journey toward motivational speaking and had been doubting myself. I have an inspirational blog on Wordpress that I would love to take to the next level (speaking and inspiring others in person) and that task was seeming a little daunting. But I see it's worth it now. For the lives I may impact. Thanks Brendon.
Awesome video Brendon. Was looking through my diary this morning and things I need to do and people I'm seeing, as this video just reminded me again why I do what I do. Really inspiring words and a great way to start the day. Thank you.
Very touching story. This is my second time watching this video. I found myself fighting back the emotions till the very end, but eventually surrendered and let them fall...
Great story... How can you not love Sara. I believe we all have a little Sara in us. We all want someone to believe in us and tell us we can. Thanks for sharing Brendon i'm really enjoying your videos. I've learned so much from your TH-cam videos. When i'm not having the best of days i search your videos for the appropriate title and get re charged. I will definitely be attending one of your worlds greatest speaker seminar in the near future to awaken and bring out the Sara in me..Thanks
Thank you for the reminder that we all have the ability and opportunity to encourage and also that we all need encouragement. Keep sharing your gifts with the world and encouraging others to as well :)
It's the way you tell it Brendon! -Great story of how to overcome your fears with the support of a great teacher. I simply wish more parents would recognise that they are their child's first and foremost teachers, not school teachers. I guess I need to get on stage and help more parents support their children to be more confident and reach their full potential from an early age...
Hello My Brother, this is Jonathan and thank you for the email, the girl story, and the projects, people, and priorities message. You Rock! Thanks for all the free videos and CD and Books.
Thanks for sharing Brendon. This is a truly inspiring story. Helping girls find their void is one of the reasons I created the Every Girl Can life skills program for teen girls.Keep up the good work.
Wow that was absolutely immense. I know what I have to do now and I hopeothers got the same message - we all have something to say to help take away that desparation from people and we are commiting a crime if we don't share that with the world
+Tina Crowley (Foreveraloetina) Thank you for this comment Tina. I just had a frustrating convo with a family member who thinks this way. Your comment helps me not to take it personally but to understand a LARGE segment of society is raised to think this way. I shouldn't get upset or frustrated. I just have to reach out to find more relevant mentors. Thank you for your perspective!
God damn you man... ALWAYS start with this!!! I was introduced to you through some video where you are trying to convince me to try some producitivity thingy majiggy...Your content was and is great... but this video just connects... just made you a human being instead of a "guy on youtube"... and a great one at that! May God Guide you and keep you in His Grace m'man... rock on :) All the way from Lahore, Pakistan. Peace!!
Great comments, and love this mans style. I've been an Actor and Presenter for over 25 years now (Well, actually all my life :) All the Worlds a stage .... making all of us just players ..... And the "scripts" we give ourselves can be "played with, explored, re-written and we can all FLY - (the quote I believe is from Patrick Overton's Faith Poem rather than Kubler Ross who I believe was quoting the work without realizing.

There are probably more of us like that than we can imagine. I used to think I was the only one who was scared of everything and everyone....

WOOOW , SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STORY SHARED IN SUCH A GENUINE WAY .

One of the most motivating videos you've ever shared Brendon, your speech was very joyful & stunning too! Thanks :D
Peace!!
Great story - and I do plan to be one who hears the call for affirmation - and I will SHOW UP!!

Absolutely Amazing, Thank you Brendon
Great comments, and love this mans style. I've been an Actor and Presenter for over 25 years now (Well, actually all my life :) All the Worlds a stage .... making all of us just players ..... And the "scripts" we give ourselves can be "played with, explored, re-written and we can all FLY - (the quote I believe is from Patrick Overton's Faith Poem rather than Kubler Ross who I believe was quoting the work without realizing.
It´s just the kind of inspiration I was needing today. thank you very much for sharing!!
I was there, too, Tiffany, and wow, I know exactly what you're saying. :)
I'll see you at Worlds Greatest Speaker Training in August - I can't wait!
Brendon, what books on Public Speaking would you recommend?
