Hey Gabriel nice work keep it up with your great attitude and positive energy. I've been using the same techniques when spraying clear for 13 years and to me it's always money in the back. Only the painter behind that specific spraygun can judge and control his results after a paint job. I love how you discibe that if you paint it it ain't right, yet u continue to do videos to give us tips on how to better ourselves. This is also the reason why you continue to get more subscribers everyday. God bless you "Amigo" saludos desde la Bahia en California.
Thanks for the videos! I've been working on the half moon blends. Sometimes perfect, other times looks like where a kid has been playing. May be the gun( Tekna basecoat) or the operator(me)!!!
This tip about spraying first coat of clear not too far to the edge is brilliant...because when you put all clear full from edge to edge then color can be a little bit darker 🙂 I’ve learned that a few days ago at schooling center 😁
Love the half moon idea and i actualy learned another thin today. so cool. thanx. dont put your clear up to the edge on your first clear. stunning. clear does affect your colour. diamond coating or the not. Thanx Francois
Wooow😲😲!!! You are really a magican!!! After every video you put here on youtube i become a much better painter and doing less mistakes!!! You cant imagine how gratefull i am for all your vids👍👌😉!!!tnx👊👊
Hey, thanks for all the tip(s) on blending silvers. I just finished my 1st attempt at blending a bright metallic silver and your suggestions and techniques helped me pull it off. It turned out awesome!Thank you again Gabriel.
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Aryan Bryson thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hello, Gabriel, I follow you a while ago. I wanted to ask you how long it took you to become the excellent painter you are today?? I'm from Argentina, I work matching colors in a distributor. something that fills me with tis videos is in addition to your energy, your way of explaining, you are very didactic...
I just bought a downdraft booth, only thing I need now to be SET is figuring out the respiration system. Si puedes ace un video para los maskaras de aire que usas amigo porfavor, gracias y buen video!
Quick question I am spraying some clear on my mustang bumper cover and I am using shop line jc 830 it seems dull is there a better clear from shop line any advice would be great thanks.
I'm more interested in the suit and helmet your wearing.. brand and were to find it... nicer than what I had when I did it for a living...mine was fresh air supplied but much more cumbersome... guess I'll Google it...
I enjoy watching your videos, I would like to see the cars before and after the repair. It seems like the story is not finished without the before and after. Regards.
When you dont use wetbed and you dont tack before you apply clearcoat, do you ever get any dusty looking clear? I painted a ford explorer front end with a very course metallic code (new hood) and didnt tack before clear so the clear looked like there was a lot of dry basecoat dust. I covered it up with another very heavy coat of clear. What do you think? Much love and respect from Atlanta GA you do great clean work!
I am assuming you sprayed solvent base. Water base paint has a lot less of that sand piling issue. If you try envirobase he is spraying you will notice it goes on a lot smoother than the old school solvent paint.
your enthusiasm is awesome man lol I love your videos. also that half moon technique, I'm gonna try that out next time I can get in the booth. My painter is either gonna think I'm a genius or he's gonna be mad I've learned something that awesome without him lmao. & thanks for that tip on the clear coat on the edge of panels!
Great video again! But here you don’t use that clear base stuff...to help silvers lay flat on the blend..I’ve seen others do it...do you do it? And why not here? Thanks again.
Because I don't need it all the time. If it's hot and the base is drying to fast I'll use it. Also if the color is laying down nice then I don't feel the need for it
Thanks for the learning curve... just subscribed bud!. Quick question, would you give the thumbs up on the Iwata WS400 with the 1.2 tip for a flat glass like finish compared to the likes of Devilbiss GTI Pro Lite or the Sagola 3300 GTO? I'm a novice at this trade.
Minimum 1.3 for clear coat depending on the gun. We have a cheap star gun for the shop and ive used it a few times its a 1.4 and that is the best finish I've ever had on my clear.. does better than my satajet5500 rp
I am 24 and I do paint here and their my boss is 41 and I’m his buffer prep tech and detailer lol but the differences I’ve seen in your paint work is you don’t go past the next panel that much I know your using a 1.2 so I’m not bitching I haven’t used one I always get picture frame if I stop at the edge and your blends are amazing really liked what you did as a really young painter I learned something I have been painting since 14 but we all still say we suck lol but I hate Ppg enviorbase tbh I like glasurit
Also another thing we habe problems with in the cold north (norway:)..is the drying of the tricoat paint (PPG ENVIROBASE)...the topcoats with the T490 in it...so any help on this matter would also be great..ideas about how to speed up the drying of this when many colors have 2 - 4 coats of this shitty mess:) on top of the basecoat:)??
Thx...keep up the great videos:):)..after 25 years in car painting there is still much to learn about tricks and tips.. i think we all stribe to be just a little bit better:)
Do some of you guys use the D8175 clearcoat like most of us use here in norway?..it dries in 5 min (object temperature 60)...any feedback on tje use of this clear would be great...we have some difficults with it specially on roofs and hoods so any feedback on this would be great:)??? Keep up the great videos:):)
It looks like you have a happy day 😁 And a bit of "elevatormusic" now 🤣 Yes clearcoat works like a lens ... so it is beter to make the edges as thin as posibel.... most important by silver... somtimes i use to the edges only F.O.T. On MB744 Audi LX7W VW LA7W f.ex. If you spray on 744 two coats of clear on the edges after blending the color will looks better without blending 😂 Bmw 300 Alpine white will look much to grey with to much clear over it .. f.ex So it is not only by metallics.... Nice week all 😉

Your advice of blowing in one direction has been super useful for me. I must have saved like a 100 hours of polish time and gained a lot of respect in my workplace in the ~12 months that I've practiced it. I allways took my time to blow panels for an extended duration hoping to save in potential polishing time in the end. After I started blowing in a particular direction I've started to reduce my blowing passes while not compromising on results :D However the "motivated painters" blower you advocate is of a questionable value IMO. I have tried them all and ended up with a "venturi" blower (looks something like this "i.ytimg.com/vi/PGxDO2WHnOY/maxresdefault.jpg" that screams like a banshee (ear protection is strongly advised) but after I'm done with it no particles will summon while clearcoating @ 2.5 bar at close range. Your waterbase drying blower is pussyfooting it.
I'm glad I've been able to help. 100 hours is alot a lot of money saved in time that makese happy. I love my blower I use it every single day and it's a fraction of the price of all the other blowers like sata ones so thats why I love it and it's alllllrighttt in my pocket and you can regulate it as you wish. That one does look interesting. I'm not familiar with that technical term you refered too lol

Perfecto como siempre!!! No es la pintura que usas ni la laca.... the one and only !!!
Jaja man tú me vas a inflar la cabeza!!! 🤣🤣 Muchas LOVE !

Much love man!!
Thanks for the videos! I've been working on the half moon blends. Sometimes perfect, other times looks like where a kid has been playing. May be the gun( Tekna basecoat) or the operator(me)!!!

@Aryan Bryson It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
The other benifit using your walcom drier is quicker drying which means less wet time with paint, for crap to fall on it

Thanks brother !!
Gabriel por que no usas el bake de tu booth para secar el base coat?
No se te ensucia mucho si lo secas con el blower.
Saludos hermano desde LA
La verdad que se demora 5 minutos en calentar entonces es más fácil con el blow

Great blend ,but..using the spies hacker hitech waterbase basecoat , that same job could have been sprayed in under 3min

Get a 1.3 not 1.2
Minimum 1.3 for clear coat depending on the gun. We have a cheap star gun for the shop and ive used it a few times its a 1.4 and that is the best finish I've ever had on my clear.. does better than my satajet5500 rp
How long is your whip hose.I like that clean air belt you got.I dont like using mine on large hoods. It sits on my side instead of my back like yours.

Yeah this doesn't doesn't work for everyone that's for sure haha
looking good. Do you get any pinching or anything by only giving your base 10min flash? I think ppg recommends 20 minimum.
No my friend I make sure is dry but I do have very good air flow here
