I bought these items with my own money during the black Friday/cyber Monday sale so I could get the most out of this review/haul. Yess I had to mention. I have a few friends that have to wear their socks inside out because of that pesky seam on the toes. I could see one of them absolutely hating the seem on the knee. 😅

Thank you for reviewing Cider! I’m pretty sure I’m the one who asked you to review them, and now I’m convinced that I probably won’t buy from them unless I absolutely can’t get something out of my mind. I will fight that influence. You looked great in everything, but I definitely don’t want to waste money on a maybe! Can’t wait for the next crafty video, and I hope your channel does pop off, because you deserve it!

@@FairyRosee_ yeah that’s how they get you. Their marketing is pretty good, which they definitely need 😂 which is why I prefer places that have good word of mouth rather than pouring tons of money into paid ads. When they do that I’m like 👀 SUS
Yep, it’s so frustrating because they have such specific cute styles but then they don’t look like that irl at all. It really is super hit or miss, but even the hits are not that amazing. I just wish there were more brands that make styles like that but more sustainable and ethical.
I love a lot of cider aesthetically, but I’ve never ordered and I’m scared to because sizing can be difficult for me. Thanks for the insight!!
The cider ads are always tempting me on my feed because the clothes look so cute! It’s nice seeing your input on them! I love the red velvet dress styled with that belt! The whimsy goth vibes are immaculate 👌
Yeah it’s so tempting especially when the ads are constant. Eventually people give in after they ware you down lol. Happened to me 🤚

Yeah their marketing is so effective. Everyone I know with similar taste get ads for them constantly. It’s nice to be able to present a realistic review for people that also get blasted with their marketing. They sponsor a lot of creators in my circle as well so it’s hard to get an unbiased point of view. And that is that it’s just… OK/Mid/Meh😂
1000% agree with your opinions on cider. Have bought a couple of things from there and had the same experience. One thing I love and get compliments on all the time, another is just meh, and the third I never wear ever because it is just way too uncomfortable
Yeah their marketing is really good and have grown a lot. But their quality is so inconsistent. I have a couple items I love but then I have some regrets I didn’t even mention. Their sizing is also inconsistent.
I like the lapel idea for the David Tennant look. The “mustard” dress (top) I think it would look best with the skirt part removed. And I think you would be able to fix that red number pretty easily. Looks like the way you accidentally first tried it on all you’d have to do is tack those triangular pieces that were flaring out at your shoulder blades under. I think that might work and much better than strangling to death! Ha. Thanks for reviewing this company too since I must be the only person who hasn’t heard of them!
I've never bought cider because I intentionally try not to support fast fashion and I was afraid of how the garments would actually look in real life. So thank you for the review, it helps a lot to decide what to support and what not to support! 🌿

Don’t order polyester fabrics from cider, order knit/wool sweaters/cardigans from cider..They have beautiful cardigans..

So listennnnn, I've placed my first order from Cider earlier this week. It wasn't too expensive but I hope I like what comes in the mail 😅. I'm a 38F. So I'm worried the dress and tops won't fit. We shall see!

I love almost everything I've gotten from Cider, although, I do wish they'd make things in cotton or other natural fibres that breathe.
Some pieces are better then others and make sure look at the product description..It will save you money..The knit/Wool fabrics are the best esp the cardigans they have on their site..
Goth clothing prices have officially broke my brain because I was gushing to hubby about how amazingly low the prices on cider are 😂😢 they have some really cute goth stylable stuff. We have the exact same measurements except I’m 5’3 and my bust is a tad bit bigger so this is PERFECT for me before I make my first order lol
I buy most of my gothy dresses from them! They're seriously cute, and mostly made well. Word of warning however, everything I've bought from them has been polyester, and very hot.

Thanks for this in depth review, I get bombarded with their adds pretty much daily and thought them a bit sus in the shein kinda vibes. This has enlightened a lot. 😁
The Shein vibes are so there! They have similar style clothes. I think Cider is slightly better quality than Shein (which is straight up 🗑️) but still not that worth it. When I first discovered Cider I was so suspicious that it wasn’t just Shein rebranded since they own other aesthetic brands like Romwe, Zaful and Chicwish. It wouldn’t have shocked me at all of Cider was owned by the same parent company as well. I haven’t dug too deep though so there may be some connection. I know Simple Retro has Shein ties which is why I’ve turned down sponsorships by them. If I review I brand I want to have the freedom to be brutally honest and unfortunately most collabs involve contracts with clauses stating you have to be positive in your representations, which is why these reviews are almost never sponsored.

looking forward to see, what will happen with the tennant dress. I am not sure, to fold it over looks nice. Is there a chance to ruffle something over, to make it look like a bigger cover? An the yellow tunika, looks on my screen exact same colour than what you wear. :-)
The big test is washing the clothes. What happens after? Oh you influenced me into making a Hobbit wreath, Dang it came out pretty good!

Ciders’ return policy, when I did it, was to keep the item you don’t want and you are given store credit.

I don't know if anyone else has said, but if you do return for store credit, you don't have to send the items back. I just recently did this because the items didn't fit as I had hoped.

The seams thing is VERY USEFUL INFO! There's no way you'd see that in the pics on the website, and I have kinda chonky legs. Can foresee buying and wearing exactly once, then cutting the seam intending to make them more comfy and falling entirely!

Yeah and one thing I failed to mention is they often copy designs. There are a few designs that I’ve noticed are copies of Lacemade which is another brand I’ve reviewed and I know for a fact is better quality than Cider. If I had more money I’d buy the originals from Lacemade and compare them to the dupes on Cider. I know brands like Shein do the same although their quality is at the bottom. Maybe doing a 3 way comparison would be interesting but idk if I wanna give Cider or Shein any of my money lol.

My main issue with Cider is they just cannot decide if plus size people have very large chests or not, some things will be impossibly tight but then othjer things (like the dress you used for the autumn fairy shoot) will have way too much room, I know fitting for plus sizes in harder in RTW pieces but if it was consistant it would make shopping a lot easier.

I am not sure which store to suggest because I actually thrift 90% of my clothes. A lot of fast fashion brands that have this style aren’t that good quality. Some of my favorite brands to thirty though are: Zara, ModCloth, Talbots, Nanette Lepore, Old Navy, Various Target brands (Who What Wear, Universal Thread, Wild Fable) Urban Outfitters, J Crew, Eddie Bauer. I might make a video with all my fav brands to thrift actually 🥰 I utilize a lot of online secondhand shopping via Mercari, Poshmark, ThredUP and Depop. Sometimes Ebay too.

Guess I'm one of those rare people being on the internet and never heard of that brand. But I also have to say I didn't hear of Shein like two years ago or so? Somehow they missed me as a target but I'm totally not mad 😁There's mostly just one online shop I buy from nowadays (I'm in Germany btw) and it's almost only Alchemy Gothic jewellery because it's cheaper there than anywhere else. The rest of my clothes I get either second hand or I sew them myself.
It could be because of where you’re located as well why you don’t get bombarded with the ads. Idk if Germany has different regulations regarding selling browsing data with advertisers or not but that could be why. In the US it’s so bad. I swear I’ll text my friends about something and then get a targeted Ad about the thing right after. They say they don’t mine data from personal communication but I call BS 😂 - & I love that you’re primarily second band and diy as well. It’s the way to go. I find that any time I buy brand new lately I’m very much disappointed.

I live in Sweden and never heard of Cider or the other company you list so I can not speak of them. Forever21 was in the EU and had very good quality stuff, but it was a totally different part of the company than the USA side and in 2018 ceased in the EU. Anyway the red dress is cute, I would just say it is not good for your body type but we all go threw that. The mustard dress looks like the same as your photo to me! He hee. That said it does suck it is so short! I am 5 ft 9 inches and ware a US size 6 so it would be super short on me and I would be really let down! The Dr Who dress just did not work, once again I think that is for a certain body type also. The black bell bottoms were super cute on you!
ASOS is big here in EU and they pretty good as they many times have a video of the item worn by a real person. That said they are hit or miss at times also.
Wow is fashion just generally cheaper in other parts of the country?? I couldn’t believe how cheap Cider is compared to most clothing stores around Seattle.
I’m sure in bigger cities it’s more expensive, depending on where you go. Online retailers in the fast fashion side of things (forever 21, H&M, Shein, & Cider) tend to be cheaper since they’re mass produced overseas. I’m sure if you have locally owned businesses selling clothing for more money they’re probably better quality and the money goes more directly into the wages of the employees. Unless we’re talking the local department stores/brick and mortar locations of, say, Forever 21 or Zara. Then that could just be more pricey due to inflation. I haven’t been in one of those stores irl in forever especially in a big city so I couldn’t say for sure.
If you take the straps off of the Dr. Who dress and turn it into a skirt, with the wonky bust tucked in or taken off completely, it will be a bit longer, and you will be able to use it.
The rest of the stuff is OK. That kitty dress needs taking in at the waist. Or a belt. Or something. I love the pattern and overall look, though.
The red dress is dreamy, but it would have been better as a floor length dress.
The yellow/orange/brown dress/tunic 'thing' has so much potential!!! Maybe just shorten it a bit, to help it with its identity crisis.

I've seen loads of Cider ads myself and some of the things look SO cute. But as a plus size person I've been very doubtful anything would fit me, and now I'm even more dubious. You really shouldn't be spilling out of a medium when you're a size FOUR. 🤦♂️ That just makes me furious on your behalf! The cat dress is really, really cute though. 🥺
Yeah their sizing is WAY off. I’m sure the plus size items they offer run small as well. Don’t know for sure but since the straight size run small I’m willing to bet their plus size options do as well 😭

I’ve gotten a lot of good things from shein that are still good today. SHEIN is great. Super cheap. The clothes LAST. You have to read reviews. It does not all come from the same place. I’ve gotten shoes that are still kicking today. Pants. Shirts. Dresses. Hair accessories. People want to hate on shein so badly. Here’s some tea sis, high end brand make their clothes the same way. Yeah the prices tag doesn’t mean shit.
The red dress fit is not fine - it is TERRIBLE . run girl run you are worth more than that
