So many memories brought back to me, I'm 53 years old man , and I left greenock when I was 20 years old to see the world and make a life, I cried at this video not because it's a bad video but because I left a place I loved so much , that's something that happens when you fall out with your family, maybe one day I will return. just found your vids. brought back lots of memories.Bo rn at 69 Ann st.1941 moved around the corner to 105 Drumfrochar Rd, went to Holmscroft school won the McLean cup playing on the fitba team (the UNDERTAKERS) the Master was David Gerrard, later he became PROVEST, went on to The Mount and played on the team with Jim Frizzell and Ronnie Alexander both of them payed for Bellaire I played for Port Rovers, under Neilly Galbraith.Frank Wiley,George Gillespie'.Won aScottish Juvenile cup medal,with Pt. Rovers.Lost 1-0 to an Edinburgh team at Capilow park (Sinclair st.) Booth Frizzell& Alexander lived around the corner from me in Mill ST near Prospecthill st.just one st. down from Broomhill.I My deceased wife's father John McCormick was treasurer for the Greenock Juniours in the sixties and lived across from their park on Auchmead Rd. I apprenticed at Kincaids as a fitter 51 /56.went to sea 56 /61.worked at Linwood car plant in the toolroom,61/65,Emigrated Oct 65 to Ontario Canada.Slainth, Gilbert McNab. gibby mcnab@gmail.com
Gilbert we must be the same age, I'm 81, I too played for the Undertakers, black shirt, shorts & socks, and moved to the Mount, left 1950, I also played for Bellaiire with Jimmy Frizzell who went on to Manchester City, I was also playing with Tommy Brycland who went to Norwich, I went to the Gourock Rovers a bloke called Hughie Cox, ran it at the time, then went to Dunoon Jnrs for half a season , but didn't like it at all, I left Greenock in 1957 to join the army, I have a brilliant photo of Bellaire, which includes my best mate Ian McDonald, Ian & I played for the Army together, and won all sorts of trophys, I don't know who to get the photo to you, email, the goalkeeper was Ian McShane at the time, came from the timbers up Gibshill next door to the Brycelands,

I return every year Brian, I come from the Gibby and left Greenock 1957 to join the Army, and live in England now.
