I did A LOT of research on SE Asian countries to "retire" in, and I chose Siem Reap as the place for me. The Visa for over 55 years old ? You give them $300 every year, and that is the only time you deal with immigration. Also, there is no tax on Social Security income, things are much less expensive, you don't even meed a license to drive a motorcycle that is under 125 CC, and many other things are better in Cambodia than Thailand.
Talked to multiple older gents at my condo who says that trying to learn Thai at their age is a complete waste of time. Said if they were in their 20s or 30s, they would thinkk differently about this, but learning a brand new language when retired in their 60s and 70s is a complete waste of time. Do you guys agree with this? If living here, should you learn regardless of age or is it a waste where the rest of their lives should just be focused on relaxing and having fun? Looking out my window, everyone looks very happy hanging out at the pool. I am in my room studying thai.
Doing nothing may be fun in the short term, but it will get boring over time. Learning Thai, on the other hand, can earn you more respect from the locals and help you avoid being overcharged. While learning the language won’t allow you to fully integrate into Thai culture, since you’ll always be seen as a farang… it’s still far from a waste of time. It not only enhances your experience in Thailand but also keeps your cognitive abilities sharp
It's because alot of the thai teachers in thailand are a complete waste of time 😂. No just kidding. I would say it's easier to learn a language and not being forced to learn. Which seems to be the case with most foreigners in thailand. Also it would help if the teacher has been educated overseas or at least has spent some significant time in western countries.
Should only have to do a 90 day report if you move address in my opinion. Or change it to say report twice a year .. mine has worked great online the last 4 times , reply in 48 hours. This time around waited 6 days , got the reply day before my due date .. it’s stressful the waiting and wondering if it’s been lost in the system .. still , it avoids a trip to the office on Xmas week 🙏👊 having said that ,imagine this control if they had this in the uk 🇬🇧 😆
I've been living here for two months and I like Thai food; however, I like to have one meal a week foreign food just to switch it up. There is a familiarity to a lot of the foods they cook but I need to have something different so I don't get bored of eating Thai food all the time. Indian, British, western, japanese keeps it fresh for me and less routine food wise.
101,000 KM is 62,758 miles - I drove my Toyota Prius 180,000 miles (305,000 KM), I took good care to service it every 5,000-6,000 miles (8,000-9,656 KM) including oil change - generally if you take care of your Toyota it will take care of you.
Depends I've gone to nana met a girl pay bar fee then the rest of the week she calls for me to pay the bar fine so she doesn't have to work and we spend time in the hotel and going to movies. restaurants etc..was great
Agreed 😅.. recently I met a gogo girl in Nana 2/3 times over a few weeks .. Had drinks .. then took her ‘out’ had a fun, interesting evening ….. saw again 3 times for a ‘nominal fee’ plus bar fine .. so I guess she must of liked me a bit & I got lucky .. 😊
Indicating going around a bend they have clearly already bent around is something I never noticed in my time in Thailand, probably because I didn't drive or have a car for that matter. Maybe they could learn to indicate that they are passing unsafely , ignoring stoplights, and any other abscence of situational awareness. ..Nay...TIT
90 Day Report I have always very quick, maybe 10 Minutes, but one Year Visa is much time last I sit there 3 or 4 hours with Papers and now wait for a call to come make the Passport stamps
Im married 32 years to Thai lady retired in Thailand nearly 20years Still treated the same no change in rules You would have thought i should have been given permanent residency Not complaining just giving my opinion
Correct! It means meeting place. In Thai, the word nana (นานา) refers to many, multiple. It can also mean “meeting place”. Nana was also historically, the part of Bangkok where people met to discuss philosophical ideas. In modern times, the area is now where people meet to dine and socialize.
@@addamr2052 Best you listen closely to native speaking locals that grew up in the area! 😊 Better still, ring the Nana hotel and ask them. Most of the front desk have been there over 20 years👍🏻
@ The Thai อา sound is closest to the “aa” sound in English, specifically the /ɑː/ vowel as in father. It’s a long, open, unrounded vowel without any “r” sound influence. The “ar” sound in English (as in car or star) would not be as close because it often includes the rhotic (r-like) quality, which doesn’t exist in Thai อา. Thanks anyway!
Wrong again , ะ that's your aa sound and Nana isn't spelt นะนะ . า= ar and aa=ะ and Nana is spelt in Thai language นานา not นะนะ so your home work before sprouting off like some big motor bike that knows nothing
watching while enjoying my morning coffee on my condo balcony ☕️ many thanks again for featuring me on your channel 🙏 I did give you a shoutout on one of my videos, I am overwhelmed by what has happened to my channel since then & its mostly thanks to you, keep up the great work mate It would be nice to meet you some day in the future & have a few beers & you can make a video of me making poor decisions 😂 take care, cheers! 🍻
Brilliant how all the guys found in Soi 4 said they didn’t like Soi 4 😂😂. Love the video in the car in Bangkok. Yet to drive in Bangkok but have driven around the north.
How many fried rice with chicken , beef or pork dinners or glass noodles with fish , pork balls in a broth can you eat ? Thai food can become a little boring after a few years .

You are married to a Thai woman and still have to do your 90 days report ??? That is a complete waste of time .
The purpose of the 90 day reporting is for prompt friendship payments to the government.
Their is a prominent sign on the wall of the immigration office, forbidding any payments or gifts.
If it's on a sign, It must be true!
Wrong... 90 day reporting is FREE

Do it online. No problems.
Strange how thais indicate when going round a bend, but not when making a turn into or out of a junction 😢
Cup Phom is not the same as Korp Khun Cup my mate

Completely agree with you.
But you have to remember that 40 million people traveled through Thailand and more you know what I mean so have some tracking with cash flow
You ask where I 'd rather be on a friday lunch than stressed out on a busy bkk freeway..I'd rather be anywhere but where you are for sure
Guilty as charged. I indicate in bends also. My reasoning is the roads are shit and indicate to help the one behind me that a bend is coming haha😂…
You know the song Baa Baa black sheep? Now sing Naa Naa black sheep. That’s how Nana is pronounced.
Correct! It means meeting place.

นานา น= N . า= the vowel ar . NatNar .
Your Naa Naa version is not even close .

Is it possible to do it online?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
What you do with your time when you not waste it? Waste it on something else?
5:01 make sure you don’t get a 500 baht fine sent your way complete with a photo of you crossing that.
You order the exact same meal at McDonalds that I do when I’m in Thailand 😁
Why anyone eats that toxic rubbish when in Thailand (or anywhere else) just blows my mind … 🤯
You should launch a nutrition channel 😂😂😂😂🎉😅
I miss driving but certainly not in Bangkok. When I’ve been to Ubon R & K Kaen I have hired a car , much quieter and less stress 😊
Bangkok traffic is crazy!

You are an older gentleman! Of course you could hire a lawyer, or passport visa application agency to do this for you?!
im wasting my time watching your video
You love it, because on the way you go in some bars, hahaha that is not waste of Time 😂
This Chanel is very entertaining. Please keep up the good work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Aren't you fron the British Isles tho m8? 😅
I've already enlighten him on that fact.. Typical Mick he don't get it
@@ราตรีวิชาดี😂😂😂 he calls it the Atlantic Archipelago.
Aren't you frustrated with Nana just because you can't afford the 1000+3000 thb f...g fee ? 😂😂🎉😅
I am tired of the Nana scene. The propensity to consume.
You certainly can stop BPEP if it’s a waste of time. It seems TH-cam has decided its fate. I’m not suggested BPEP videos anymore.
Couldn’t understand a bit of it
WTF is BPEP?
Define all acronyms.
A waste of Thaim? 😂
Waste of your precious time in your unique and unrepeatable life 🤔...being upset about things you can not change ?
I take your point
Thai food is so mutch better then McDonald's.... why would you eat there?
Sometimes you need something that reminds you of home. It's comfort food.
💯 don't be doing mcdonalds in Bangkok, go to one of the food markets or Chinatown. Infact anywhere in Bangkok will have far better food.
Had a Macdonald’s in Central Chaengwattana once and nearly died. That’s no hyperbole either 😢
Not always sometimes at 3am after many beers a MC Donald's meal is better than any Thai food

We can only guess what shenanigans these types are up to behind close doors in the dead of night in some remote Nakhon Gary Glitter.
Yes Victor meldew. Get back to the BBC for a Christmas special..
@@garycope4238 Very funny and appropriate. Victor lives on in Thailand!!
