This is being played with old rules, before the FAQ1.1. Only models in base contact can melee. Therefore the attack of 22 dice at 14:56 is not correct I believe.
I have a question about the B2B rule. One of the benefits, more specifically with the Macedonian Phalanx, was that 5 ranks deep could attack. In SPQR a phalanx has to be 2 rows of 5, but only the front rank can attack? 🤔. Five abreast is not that much, meaning the phalanx can easily be put flanked opening the door to break the phalanx. So why not let the phalanx have melee for all model within the length of their pikes. As an enemy get closer the phalanx gets more dangerous, more realistic but also means that the enemy has to out flank and break the phalanx, again more realistic. This would create a cat and mouse scenario. The deadliness but less agile phalanx Vs more agile warriors.
I would like to see Romans up against some Gauls, Dacians or Britons. The Spartans seemed to much like a mirror match. It was a good intro campaign and did wet the appetite for more SPQR.
I would also like to “blow the horn” for more SPQR action on the channel please. It would be good to see games that are more than sling, charge, melee, game over. Maybe the romans can bring a scorpion unit and some cavalry to raid the Celtic roundhouses? Also showcasing changes from FAQ 1.1.
I really enjoyed this campaign and was looking forward to this last video being released. I have felt it’s been extremely one sided though. I don’t know what Gerry has done to his dice, but they were on fire and Charlie’s were clearly not. I think another campaign is in order to give a fairer view of the armies, as currently, it seems Spartans are way OP. Keep up the great work though
If you get it, ensure you get the FAQ. There was some glarring issues, but a lot of improvement has since been done. The starter pack is an excelent deal.
I was scrolling down looking for a comment to this effect. It is simultanious, so you are correct, he would not get it until the following round of combat.
How are the other armies in game? Those Spartans are broken, they should really cost more per unit. I see tournaments where there's nothing but Spartans fighting Spartans.
So Spartan hoplites can just rush a group of skirmishers and slaughter them in front of a Roman unit, and then reform and face said Romans before they can even say "pilae in your ribs". Wow. Hope the rules have been altered because this is bull manure.
@@BootsontheTable Now that there has been a heavy amount of FAQ work, I think I am going to give a solo game a go, and see if it functiins propperly. It is annoying that a large chunk of the rules are FAQed, but if the game is better now, I will give it a shot.
This is so 1sided But games always are when 1 player is a win at all costs hea beardrd and the other is playing in the spirit of the game Do it again with Celts versus Romans and don't be a beard
its been confirmed each player can't reroll a die more than once but both get a chance to reroll the same die so you can parry a hit that was previously rerolled for instance.
@@liabilityb Joe is correct. The game designer confirmed it in the FB group. Each player is allowed their re-roll of the dice once. It works as written on page 3 of the rulebook in the Re-Roll section.
More SPQR please, great campaign!
I’m hoping they’ll do some more after the new rulebook is released :)

If they had properly play-tested this game maybe a day one patch wouldn't have been needed?

i realize it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?
I really enjoyed this, more SPQR please.
3 times in a row! Roman's lost. By Caesar's iron balls, change the points values!

I would actually really like to see a scorpion used.

I can already see the marketing campaign:
Roman Legionnaires .....now with 25% LESS impetus
You guys are the best! Love your videos!
Where is this gaming mat from? Looks great!
It was a great game, and a great scenario to end this series! Hope SOQR come back soon! Loved it!
SPQR is slwoly becoming the most interesting miniatures game to me!

Hope that you guys do the redemption scheme, as I wanted to get into this game based on these videos
"annoy your happiness" :)
These videos have hugely turned me on tk this game... I don't think I've ever seen more unbalanced dice rolling in my life tho :-o
How does Jerry get a reroll for outnumbering in single combat?
I dont think bloodlust should have triggered till the next round as its simultaneous...

Forgive my ignorance but what does SPQR stand for? I can’t even find out in the website.
It means The People and Senate of Rome
More spqr

It's a good game, but I have too many games right now. :(

Nice figures shame the rules are awful ☹️
The starter pack with the rules is still a good deal for the models alone.
ostrowulf that’s true. Throw away the rules though 😉

Gerry seems a fun guy to play, tho he certainly does play to win. Playing to win isn't a crime. Games sorta require that.
Yes but this is supposed to be showcasing the game
It's not supposed to be a win at all costs big dick contest

@@joechandler9765 I've not seen anything about that ,last I saw was a hit reroll couldn't be parryed
