2024 and I listen to this like it just came out! 😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The bass on this song... MY GOODNESS!!!!
This a masterpiece.
GOOD LORD!!!!!!
Yes he is killing it
This is absolut choir magic! Takes me ALL the way back to childhood when we SERIOUSLY had church. The anointing is running rampant through the atmosphere. There is so much passion and the level of giftedness showered upon this choir. The swaying in unison, the tambourines being played, the awesome band! This is how we used to do church! No real glamour just true worship and praise to our God. I love it, I miss it and wish it wasn't just a meer memory of what used to be! We didn't know or understand what we had in the yesteryears! My heart and soul longs for it! I look forward to this type of church in heaven. "I'm going to glory to live forever, and if you'll be there, we're gonna shout together..."
we gon' shout together❤
@@1addedstipulatione gonna shout together…❤
Amen
The anointing that’s on this entire recording is undeniable.
My fav group of all time! Give it up for the band especially the bass player
2024 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Has anyone considered digitally remastering this entire video? This classic video revolutionized Gospel Music and needs to be preserved for posterity.
2021, I'm still listening!!!
Them SOPRANOS!!!!
"Rest for the weary on the other side", So True !
Brother do you know how many times this tape put pep in my steps going to the bus stop to a job I didn't like. But this song made me forget about the negativity, humming this song the hold day 😊❤🙌🙌😊🙌🙌🙏
Man these guys were pioneers in writing and music arrangements and composition. The material wasn't simple to learn. lol...Now life is easy because I had to learn this stuff.
The backwards clap is everything
🔥 🔥 📛 👩🚒 🚒 🧯 🎆 🔥 There is Rest for the Weary on the other side of Jordan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🏞
I have always loved this song and played it over and over and over. Just listened to it for the first time in years and it still brings me joy. Bring the old church choirs back plzzzz...praise and worship TEAMS have replaced them.
king of slap bass.Stephen huff...
The legend DARIUS BROOKS and the Band of Life!!!
I love this song. Darius Brooks is so gifted and talented.
We was there
Brings back great childhood memories. Good times 😊
Living in this world there is pain, grief and strife
But they tell me of a home of a such better life
No more heartaches, tears I'll cry no more
Only joy everlasting when I reach the other shore
In this Christian home of glory there remains a land of rest
Where my Savior's gone before me to fulfill my souls request
He in fixing up my mansion where eternal life I'll stand
And He's going to take me to that holy happy land
No doubt about it people sit and talk about it
What a day that's going to be
I'm. going to tell God all about it
Just me and my savior, my God and me
(Chorus:There is rest for the weary on the other side of Jordan
There is rest for the weary on the other side)
One of these mornings and it won't be long
You're gonna look for me and I'll be gone
I'm going to glory to live forever
And if you'll be there we gonna shout together
Firstly, this choir is phenomenal anyway. Secondly, although I'm a New Yorker and true to NYC...I have to admit that it was Darius Brooks that brought Love Fellowship Choir's vocals to their finest with his collaboration on "Focus on Glory". Good vid & keep 'em coming =)
They don't do it like this no more
I'm in tears right now!!!!!!!
2:12 in the pocket, everybody understood the assignment😄

With my Arthritis it will. Be difficult to hold the neck of guitar.
not to discredit the late Milton Brunson, Praise God for Maestro minister of Music Darius Brooks! Many people don't realize it, but he is responsible for writing, composing, and producing quite a few of Milton brunson's top hits. When I look at the credits, he is responsibe and blessed to have been able to keep them relevant doing their Prime. I pray that God will continue to bless him for his Endeavors past present and future forward 🙏‼️
I kinda figured that. I think that is the beauty of Gospel Music. Because we are of the body, we put the Glory of the Lord before our individuals. Ise of that. am such a fan of choirs because. I wish we had more music like this today.
Amen yes he is
Amen
Absolutely Love this song! That base line tho….crazy sick!
This song is will forever be a masterpiece and a Timeless classic … my childhood ❤

my mom use to play this song so much when I was a child and that was over 30 years ago lol. My God dad also loves this song which makes it more amazing to me ..
Same lol
Y'all are making me homesick with this one; my favorite song by the Tommies. I also love Apostle Donald Alford and the Radio Choir in Maywood, IL. If anyone have anything on them please upload. The Tommies are the best. Thanx to the gospelfillup. Peace!
Before drum programming you had someone that could play a tambourine
1:20 has to be the best breakdown in gospel music ever! if not the best, it's in the Top 2 lol
Adriel Hawkins indeed brotha lol
Absolutely!!!!
I play this so much everyday 🙏🏾
thank you!!! this is wonderful. Amen!
Yessss I’ve been looking for this song for years😇😇😇
Of course their singing is superb, but what gets me even more is their great spirit and their unity! They were a team and they did it together in one powerful great spirit.
One of my best VHS 📼 concert growing up as a kid. Me and my siblings ran this video out 😊
O Wow ! I played my cassette tape over and over until it popped ! He sounds a little like Rev Paul Jones!

@Lalahbug that bass player is Steve Huff. he's a beast.
Man, if they only had choirs like this in 2018. Now its a joke, smh
SANG DARIUS!!!!!
Sing Darius!
Could you upload the full concert in its entirety? convert the vhs into dvd format. Rip the dvd into a downloaded file on your computer and upload it on youtube.
A GREAT SONG...We always sing this song @ funerals..VERY UP LIFTING
this song made us sing at choir practice and blew the house down okay
tears comes to my face when watching this. so many great memories from this choir. they set a standard for gospel music and now everybody sounds the same.
Oh man! The brother that used to lead this in church was so sick a year ago. The doctors were trying to convince his wife to pull the plug because, according to them he woul dnly be vegetable. I am glad to say that today he is alive and kicking. If he is a vegetable, then I guess I am a tree. I think os him everytime I hear this song. I was just in a concer t with him about 3 weeks ago where he participated like he was not almost left for dead a year ago! PS- His wife's faith never waivered!
WAT HAPPEN 2 DIS TYPE OF MUSIC...
One of the celebratory songs about dying in Christ that I have ever heard...that along with the rest of the band in the pocket while the bass guitar is driving the music makes this song incredible!!!
this whole video is awesome.. and the best sopranos are form chicago, lol
Classic Gospel!! The absolutely best!!!!
WHO HAS A COPY OF THIS VIDEO?? THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CHOIR CONCERT VIDEOS EVER MADE!! (I don't even think it's on DVD- there was only VHS back then!! Lol)

Hallelujah and praise God for such a wonderful song. I just recently stumbled across this song and I'm hearing it for the first time. It immediately went into my gospel playlist. Now that's how you praise Him!
Wow, it's been 12 years🕛🕛🕛🕎🕎🕎
WOW, this brings back memories. My brother wang with the Tommies when they were in the OLD CHURCH off of Madison street. What great memories.
I miss Rev. Brunson!!
This is an inspiration to me, because I came a long way from the other side. hallelujah! mm
One of my most favorite songs by this great choir, I know that there is rest for the weary on the other side of Jordan, Jesus said it and I believe it. This song is the greatest. We love you Darius, your gift from God to us. Keep on Writing, pray for the NaySayers, and watch God bless you some more!
One of my favorite songs by Darius and the Thompson Community Singers.
Inez Andrews son.. The great Richard Gibbs 01:26
Yup yup! And then he was our Queen's piano player (Aretha) for the remaining of her life! Talented guy for sure! ☝🏽☺️
I love this song and it brings me to tears everytime i hear it. I love ole school songs like this... never knew Darius Brooks lead this song i love it!!
This what heaven sounds like1
OMG BEEN looking for this song for ever!! Thank God for technology lol
WE SHALL REJOICE IN JESUS CHRIST.....PEACE BE STILL AND YOU'VE DONE WELL, WHEN HE SAYS IT'S TIME TO REST, LAY DOWN THY WEARY ONE AND BE GRATEFUL FOR THE TIME, AMEN
Thinking about this song during the 12/21/12 scare the unbelievers thought the world was going to end. Saints of God IF it was time to leave this earth we would be raptured up with our Heavenly father.
Song altos!
Darius Brooks is an awesome songwriter.
I agree wholeheartedly...nobody better!!!
This was "THE CHOIR" !!! Love the Tommie. No other choir like 'em!
I remember watching this video in my living room, back in the day
I love the Tommies live and the song "He'll Make It Alright" from the Miracle Live album is super hard to find so can you please upload Ethel Holloway's "He'll Make it Alright" for me please?
I grew up on this music being from Illinois this was the "CHOIR"!!!!
love this song, you darius
Because they assume because of the way they talk that they are gay. They said the same about my bro Olanda Draper. And or the way the look. you know we SURE do like to judge. Listen to this fact, some gay people actually look and sound STRAIGHT but they hide it. some straight people can look and sound GAY! Huh! what a twist! As a Christian myself, i try not to judge the book by its cover. And aint not way Darius is gay. Heck if he is, its between him and God.
mrm64 perfect 💯
All I can say is 'Thank you Jesus!'
Always will love this song
Still one of my absolute favorite songs of all time ❤❤
I love this song. we sung it in my family choir as kids. One of my cousins recently passed that led it and we are singing it at his home going service
WHY IS IT that every black man who is musically gifted has to be in the "Lifestyle"? There are some talented brothers who are truly sold out for Jesus. We need to cover our brothers and pray for them.
That song never gets old Kim McFarland should sing that also.
One of my favorites. Bobby Brown was excited!
Bobby Brown?? What part of this video was he in?!
Darius brooks.. not Bobby brown.
listen to Rev Romandis moore version of this song
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I need the lyrics please🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Verses: Living in this world, we must pain, grief and strife. But they tell me of a home ,of a much better life. No more heartache, tears I'll cry no more, only joy everlasting, when I reach the other shore. In this Christian home in glory, there remains a land of rest, where my saviour's gone before me to fulfill my soul's request. He is fixing up my mansion, where eternal life, I'm gonna stand, and he's going to take me to that holy, happy land.
No doubt about it we will sit and talk about it. What a day that's going to be, I'm gonna tell God all about it, just me, my saviour, and my God and me, (repeat).
One of these mornings and it won't be long, you're gonna look for me and I'll be gone, I'm going to glory, to live for ever and if you be there, were gonna shout together. There is rest for the weary one the other side of Jordan (repeat) God bless you sister, I hope this helps. I wrote the lyrics that I heard. If there are any mistakes, I apologize. I do believe they are right though. God bless, Happy New year!
There was and "NEVER" will be another choir like the "TOMMIES" They were so consistant in the 80's and the early 90's; there tones and voice quaity was second to none. you could always understand what they were saying! Good diction and not a lot of choir "DRAMA" that was visable! Even the lead vocalist were humble and didn't appear to be 'grandstanding!'
