Imagine the buzz this bike would get if one of the established manufacturers had introduced it at EICMA, but for decades they ignored our pleas for a lightweight ADV bike that was good off road with enough power to comfortably cruise the occasional highway. Apparently, they preferred to sell us their expensive 850 and 1250 cc ADV bikes. Suddenly, the Chinese have 4 or 5 of these 450 to 500 cc ADV bikes.
CF Moto really starts to get it. branding on point, not overbranding the whole bike. very pretty. very capable
Finally. When it sells well I wouldn't be surprised if somebody others get in on the action. I still want that modernized DRZ

The first Chinese bike that has actually interested me. Looks good enough and ticks a lot of my wishlist boxes.

That 21" front tire and the higher front fender really give this bike a great look. It stands out from everything else in this class.

@@cineenthusiast1234no they don’t. KTM 390 Adv doesn’t have a 21 inch front wheel. Versys doesn’t. Honda cb500x doesn’t. 450MT and Himalayan do have the 21 inch front wheel. So no. All Adv bikes don’t have it.
CFMoto is making some great looking, heavily featured bikes at more affordable prices. This is very encouraging given the high prices of the established brands. This particular bike has tubeless spoked rims and adjustable suspension. In the USA, CFMoto also has a well established dealer network which is a huge plus. I’m looking forward to seeing the pricing on both this bike and the new RE Himalayan.
This is SOOOO close to being pretty much perfect, if they could somehow get that weight down it’d be amazing
You might want to look at the Kove 450 Rally, although it'll be more expensive. The Chinese manufacturers are all over the lightweight 400-500 cc ADV market this year, trying to sell us the bike we've begged to have for years (lightweight for off road but powerful enough for highways), but were ignored by the big manufacturers that preferred to sell us their heavy and expensive mid and full sized ADV bikes.

Unless this is awful to ride it looks like a bike to completely outmanoeuvre the Enfield in every area.
man Himalayan has tha same power with this but in lower rpm i cant believe that they took a sports bike engine and put it to an adv. how can you will use the 46 hp in gravel if you need tto drive more than 8000 rpm?? cf 450mt has 46hp at 10.000+ rpms. rediculus and also the quality is very bad to all models with problems in electronics, so for me before the test i choose the himalayan as a bike that already has an amazing quality and now has nice spects.
To make things more interesting, also add the Fantic Caballero Rally to the mix. Also 450 cc Chinese engine with off-road genes.
@@user-bc1tm9ko8p don’t know what you are talking about. Peak power is 8,500 for the CF moto and 8,000 for the RE. Peak torque is 10% more for the CFMoto at 6,250 vs 5,500 for the RE. I wouldn’t call a 450cc twin making 43.5hp a sports bike engine
Oh man, what an offering! This is what the light(er)weight ADV-community was waiting for and to date no manufacturer cared really to listen to. I was hoping Triumph bringing out their 660 XC, but in vain. Let alone all the others, too. With this bike and with the new 675 triple engine CF MOTO already earned my respect!
This bike looks sick. Small Adventure bikes need this, to rasie the standards from other manufactures.

Ktm also feel the need to have loads of internal screens and filters (not on this 450) and it's super annoying! Give me one external filter like the yamaha and Honda's that still last forever...

Next to the new Himalayan its pretty much what Im looking for in my next bike.
As someone who wants to add the Himi 452 to the stable in the New Year, this is the only alternative out of everything else I've looked at on the market. I honestly feel this might be a real hidden gem from a Chinese manufacturer.
CFMoto are the only Chinese manufacturer to enter Moto3, which is a testament to build quality and specification, as regulations are pretty gnarly for competitive racing. This speaks some volumes to me.
I think the overall stance is killer, it's a Twin too, with a 270° crank, that ticks a huge box for me being a lover of the Triumph Bonnie engines. The little details like the brake caliper cover, and the finish of the switchgear look sweet so far. I can't wait to see one in the metal and test ride it! At the moment, my only downside is colourways!
Bring some Matte paint and a darker colour scheme, and I'm there 🙌🏼 great vid as always dude 🤙🏼
Voge 525 DSX is also great bike.

Nice one MB! Thinking I will volunteer to be a crash test dummy on my current ride - XR650L with a few choice bits so 3rd gear wheelies are a daily given. Admission of guilt is I have not translated well to the more modern options. I prefer the old school modified stuff a bit better - more seat height and 290mm of suspension travel are good in my books. I'm 1.78 (5-10 imperial) and height of bike has never been an issue since 1980 when my girl friend insisted we go bush riding with her dad's PE400. 250mm suspension travel + is good in my books

A lot of adventure bikes nowadays in the market. For me, for us to know if the brand is reliable is they need to have at least one entry in Dakar rally. This should be the testing ground of all the brands. If you want to sell us your adventure bikes, prove it in Dakar first.

Agree! I need to test ride both bikes and see which I prefer. Esthetics of this bike is just 🔥 Imagine Honda Transalp 750 in this outfit. Nothing beats Japanese build quality so that is the only thing to worry about when it comes to this bike. But we will see future reviews when they enter market.

I need some adv advice ! I’m 5’5” and when I sat on the Kove 400x, 500x , Voge 500dsx and those types of “small”adv bikes I felt like o couldn’t see anything in front of me; about 3 meters out was ok but I’m used to being on a naked and it seemed unsettling to have such a blind spot. Is this normal? Is it something that you just get used to? Any comments from shorter experienced riders? Thanks in advance!

Maybe instead of the 451cc Ninja 500, Z-500 that Kawasaki just announced and the 451cc Eliminator from last year they should have done a Versys 500 or KLR 500 to compete with this.

The CF moto line up could clean up if they had a decent dealership network. I would have bought the cfmoto 800mt explore a few months ago. But here in Spain they are being sold online and by apparel stores. Not motorcycle dealers, they have no part ex capacity you just have to buy the bike. Where do you get it serviced, back up warranty etc. maybe they will sort it in 2024
A 60+ hp version could be super. I don't know why manufacturers aren't targeting the 650cc area. The MT 800 doesn't look like the same chassis, but the MTX Concept if built could be the adventure bike to watch for. I assume it's a 790 clone?
When does it hit the market? And will this be available in the U.S.?

This is my next bike. 100% nailed it on power spec, and you know they are gonna have to undercut Enfield, and Honda for market share. Don’t like the colour scheme, however if there’s a black one….yesssss please ✌🏼🙏🏼🤞

This may be my touring bike.
This and the Himalayan will be the go-to, light weight Adv and beginner adv.
Himi for more offroading and 450 MT for more on the road but both being fantastic options. I envy new riders.
This will be a better off road bike than the himalayan, its lighter with a better suspension and more power.
@@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC I was about to argue the power but your right the torque for the 450 Himi is 3 lbft less. I wait to see on the suspension as that's something we need to feel out. As long as CFmoto has their throttle and fueling down, I think your right!
I also own the 800 Ibex/MT hence why I bring up the fueling.
@@Cabooseified What do you think about the Ibex? I’m looking at something a little smaller but I’m curious. I’ve had an Africa Twin and now a 1250GS (freaking love it) but I’m about to give up and build my own midsize to light weight adventure bike out of a DR650 or XR650.
@@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC personally I would wait for the Kove 800 rally if you are looking for performance. The 800 Ibex to me is just a poor mans mini 1250 GS. Heated seat and grips, cruise control, decent suspension. Over all it's not too bad. I need to get the KTM 790 clutch adjuster for better clutch feel. Other than that the throttle is pretty twitchy.
Honestly another option is a used F650GS. I have one set up for the TAT. 340 lbs, 75 MPG and some amazing power. The best upgrade in the world for that bike is a stronger fuel pump. It's a direct bolt on and boosts the PSI by double! The bike has a ton more power.
I've heard most people love adving their DR650. Pretty easy to modify, get a lectron carb and exhaust and boom a ton more power. The biggest issue is the lack of a 6th gear

Am loving the look of this. Swaying toward this rather than the Himalayan.. just need to see them both.. shame the cfmoto dealer network is so spaced out in the UK. Its over 160 miles round trip to my nearest dealer!!!!
They are ever expanding. For me they've just had a dealer in Bristol take on cfmoto.

they do have a naked 450. its called the 450NK
Given the apparent quality of the product and with the launch of the MT700, which will replace the MT650, I think they will push up the prices. The MT700 should be in the €8000/8500 range and this MT 450 probably €7000/7500. The recently launched 450SR, with the same motorisation, is €6500, so the MT with more extras/investment should be in the €7000/7500 range. My guess is that the RE himalyan will come out in a lower price range (€6000/6500), which could give it some advantage in terms of sales. Just my point ✌
UK price announced £5699, so pitched right up against KTM 390 Adventure, and Himalayan 450. A head to head comparison will be interesting...

I live nearby a CF Moto dealer. It has no adv bikes and no idea when they will get any.
If you're in the market for this kind of ride it's an impressive package. If the price comes in under the Honda NX, I can't see a reason not to buy one.

Depends on pricing..the Rieju is going to be very expensive & I would bet the Himmy will be cheaper. CF seems to be only slightly cheaper than the Japanese. Dealers seem to be an issue with CF. Imo I like the CF & Beta Alp but for me dealer support is an issue.

Reiju is 8.900 Euro as it stands. Not a lot of money for a decently specd up bike. This need to come around the new Himmy or very close and it will be a golden deal.

The bike look stunning! What is the fuel tank capacity and is there any USB charging pot? I ain’t gonna use for off-road but rather appreciate the ergonomics and sitting position. Plus the seatheight and weight not too intimidating for extremely vertical challenging guy like me in the adventure bike perspective. Thanks for reading and responding.
