Its great too, altough to achieve the perfect temperature (between 0c to 2c max) the glass, the gin and the vermouth must have been cold AND the martini must be prepared mixed, NEVER EVER shaken. I mean, it have always worked for me at work.
Barbara Cunningham that’s actually what is known as a “neat” martini. Ice adds dilution as it melts during stirring, so you’re drinking your martinis a bit stronger than most of us!
Excellent! I don’t drink Martinis 🍸 only had one someone bought me at the Vinoy in St. Petersburg Fl ten years ago or so and it was straight up fire 🔥 water so I have been passing over this video but I am glad 🙂 I watched it! Very informative I learned a lot about Martinis 🍸 I did not know!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Arthur Jamal thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Nice variety, but wow 3 oz of gin seems kinda boozy. Still I'll have to try. THANKS!!! Try a medium martini 3 equal parts dry or blanc vermouth, sweet vermouth and gin, so 1oz of each. Also a Martinez using Barr Hill Tom Cat gin and Carpano red vermouth. Luxurious!!!
The only Drink in this classic martini category you might be allowed to shake is the Vesper... Please, the dilution is simply not high enough, all you do is crushing the ice. But if you personally prefer it, up to you, what I've said is just more commonly.
There are only a few types of martinis. Gin is the real martini, if you don't like the taste of gin, then a martini is probably not for you. A vodka martini is still a martini, but not traditional. Either way, gin or vodka, and vermouth. Too much more than that and it ceases to be a martini and becomes something else. A cocktail is defined by the ingredients, not the glass it is served it. As for gin or vodka and no vermouth? Not a martini, just a shot of booze in a martini glass. That's like pouring tequila into a glass, adding nothing else, and then calling it a margarita.
Working as a bartender in a high end hotel 99.9% of my guest always only want a few drops of vermouth I wonder why? This is why I was surprised to see you use a lot more vermouth
I do Kangaroo Gibson! I like onion garnish. Must be dry, pour vermouth over Ice and then toss the vermouth before adding the vodka. Best with Gray Goose.
It's so important to drink what you like, but I would never teach someone that a martini should be shaken. If you do, double-strain. No one wants a bunch of ice chips in their martini, which after about 45 seconds, melt and leave the drink a watery mess.
3 oz of gin? way too much, gonna lose money and overwhelm the vermouths, 2 to 2.5 oz max...if you properly dilute the drink, shaken or stirred, you won't need so much gin...at least 50 shakes or 25 sec of stirring.....BUT IF YOU SHAKE PLEASE DOUBLE STRAIN WITH FINE STRAINER, don't serve a martini with ice shards, that's really bad luck, gonna lose all your real martini drinkers!
Did any one notice he just used 2 oz all the times of gin😂 assuming it to be a 1oz/oz cup because he literally used 3/4th of 1oz side soo his measurements are wrong!
bartender: if you want to garnish your martini make sure is odd number or else is bad luck me who like to add 2 olives: fuck also me: wait this dude shakes his martini, fuck off lol
@@The_Sweet_Life_99999 Pre-1950s, all Martini's were shaken. Stirred came much later, so if you want to be historically accurate, you should use a shaker. The cloudiness of the shaken gin disappears in about 45 seconds, anyway, so in less than a minute it appears as clear a beverage as a stirred (finicky IMO) Martini.
stopped watching as soon as he starting shaking, completely incorrect. Also if it isn’t dirty then there’s no reason to garnish with olives, should be a lemon twist
When I make a martini I keep the vermouth and gin in the fridge. No ice necessary. Cold glass. Olives and brine. Yum!
Yum!!
Barbara Cunningham: I'm with you there. My gin lives in the freezer.

Not really a martini. Probably tastes good, but just pouring a random cocktail into a martini glass doesn't make it a martini.
Very informative, thank you.

Ugh...now I'm craving a Gibson
Lol....so enjoy a Gibson!!
Thanks for watching!!!
what's difference with that martini and gibson?
Different garnish. That is it. An onion instead of an olive.
First and foremost the glasses need to be frozen. Then the vodka or gin needs to be in the freezer as well. Then we start.
Lol...great information....thanks for watching and commenting
Good job would like u to teach me more
So vesper martini us only martini that used gin and vodka
Yes...delicious and enjoy. Thanks for watching
usually in making a martini with a shaking? i just wondering
James Lee its depends on preference but historically it was stirred. I prefer shaking 🍸
MrFredenza thank you for youre answer🙌
And i saw any other your video about making cocktail it so nice👍
... I think bartenders themselves choose to shake it if you don’t care ... more showmanship ....it’s all included ...
@@willgaukler8979 thank you for your answer! Now I have same opinion with you!
That was my hate stereotype...
Extra dry,extra olives,shaken,not stired.

Those are some strong martinis 🍸 🤪😭
First glass needs to be frozen in freezer as well as bottles of gin or vodka. Otherwise amateur hour. Dukes bar London is on point.

This video made me thirsty!
Lol have a drink or 3
2 1/2 Bombay (classic)
1 Noilly prat
3 Onions
Nice!!!!
but, due to the garnish, it will turn into a gibson
You shaking gin martinis and I’m just shaking my head.
I do say....the classic martinis should be stirred.....but I prefer to shake....lol

Why are uh sheking. .
I like dirty vodka martini myself. Sometimes instead of olive brine i use dill, garnish with a dill pickle or dill weed and voila a “dirty dick”.
Brody Brady It is a little more subtle with just dill weed but it makes a great garnish and has that fresh dill aroma is so refreshing.
I though you weren’t supposed to put gin in tin
DELICIOUS
that perfect martini would be my choice, I like them wet!
Brine ? for a dirty martini? Muddle it or bust! \
stopped watching as soon as he starting shaking, completely incorrect. Also if it isn’t dirty then there’s no reason to garnish with olives, should be a lemon twist
I would say that a standard gin martini should have olives in it. But that's just me. It's not the law, but I prefer a Martini with olives.
Total failure on all counts. Poor choice of spirits and shaken.
Lmao.... Well thanks for watching anyway lol
