  • Welcome to episode 26 of my knitting podcast! Today is all about circular yokes. You can see my latest colorwork sweater design in process, and then I answer a number of questions. The questions are listed here in the upper section, and the links to anything I refer to in the podcast are down below the “where to find Jessica” section.
    - Are your patterns in Spanish?
    - How do you put your inspiration into a colorwork design?
    - What are circular yokes?
    - How do you space the increases?
    - Plus-sized alterations to eliminate “bat wings”?
    - Fit for larger bust: too tight and the armhole too low?
    - Adjusting yoke length for fit?
    - Gauge too tight, how to keep it right?
    - How to choose colors for colorwork?
    - Short row shaping and placement?
    - Do you knit with others near me?

Jessica, thank you for sharing all this information! Your knitwear has excellent fit and now we know how just much work goes into your designs. I really enjoyed this Q&A and hope you will share more in the future.❤

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk construction. You have me thinking. I’ve been mulling over fit instead of blindly knitting. Although I do love it when I figure out what I want/need and can just go with it. It’s a process for sure. I’m still working on how raglans and yoke fit on me. I’ve used saddle construction and am really curious about the contiguous sleeve method. Haven’t figured that out yet. On knitting community, I also knit and watch podcasts to connect to others. Truthfully I think I continue to improve as a knitter because of it - I appreciate watching and learning. On family and work, I so appreciate your efforts to not only design but to give of yourself for the rest of us while still taking care of your family. You make a difference and are valued ❤

Thank you for discussing this! I asked about the increase math and I might dabble in some things! I definitely want to do snowy pine and I think my husband would like that as well!
