Sparking zero is just very straight forward and simple tbh. The anime is cool especially with the special moves but that’s about it. I’m trying to pick up metaphor hopefully this weekend I can I’ve heard some crazy cool stuff.
I can tell you have never played a dragon ball game before or your not a massive fan of the franchise and that’s fine but you have no right to give your opinion on something you no nothing about

I'm convinced everybody saying this hasn't dabbled into the mechanics enough to know the difference. The only reason the game is simple to you is because you haven't fought against skilled players. I thought Tenkaichi 3 was simple as well and thought I was good at it until I got on Parsec and fought people from other countries and got my butt handed to me on a platter. They showed me things I never thought was possible in the game and a new meta I never knew existed. Sparking Zero is the sequel to said game, I guarantee if you hopped online you'll probably get whooped by skill players.
Tbh in a casual sense I understand why he didn’t enjoy it. If it wasn’t for the fact that I just refuse to stop trying to be good (I am very ass) i probably woulda rage quit it too. I enjoy the aspect of getting better the more I fight almost as if I was a db character myself. I feel like the game is very targeted to the big db fans and that’s ok.
I cannot agree at all about Mrtaphor. I love rhe characters. The gameplay is great and there are plenty of reasons to care about them and what's going on with the story
His is the minority opinion. Most love the characters and the almost universal high scores and praise reflect that. There’s always a minority who can’t get on with a great game. It sucks, but it happens to all of us.
YES. i’ve only played persona 5 fully and metaphor is easily my favorite game of the year. if you love fantasy and rpg elements, this is an easy pick up :)
If you like any jrpgs, picking up any of them that you think the style looks good. Smt is dark. Persona is more uplifting. Metaphor no idea since I haven't played yet.
I know Sparking Zero is tough in a lot of ways, but you can buy Capsules from Bulma's store that can really make or break fights. They add buffs to all your skills and power outputs. Use your Zennis well. Use assists until you understand the different techniques. Great Ape Vegeta is harder than a lot of the main and alternative storylines of Sparking Zero, but you can literally go through other options of the story mode to level up and come back stronger against him.
Def give this game a try when you’re ready. Tenkaichi growing up had no online you learn new shit in the game everyday by accident, training, or even noticing the CPU do something you never thought in the game. Point is, if this can happen to you then you can do it as well, with friends you learn as the days go by and you eventually get better. Then you can show your friends that you learned a new trick that THEY never knew and so on. I did this since Tenkaichi 2 with friends. But tbh to each is own. It’s a new era.
I have never been willing to put 20+ hours into a game I am not actively enjoying. I used to be willing to give new TV shows a whole season before deciding to bail or not, but I think thats partly because I could be doing other things at the same time. Either way, as i have gotten older, i dont have time to grind games or shows i am not liking
Same with Metaphor, I just hit the 6h mark and finally have freedom to do whatever I want. I thought that was a looong intro to the game and wish characters were less cliches, but also hoping it gets better given the high score it got and that I loved Persona 5.
I'm enjoying Metaphor, I quite like the characters and I love the combat and the story. I'm not sure about getting Sparking Zero, I'm not very good at the combat so I don't think it would be that enjoyable for me. I'd just want to play as Android 17😂
They made the characters unbalanced on purpose. Which makes sense if you wanted to see how powerful characters compare to one another. They kept it realistic from the anime which is very cool.
this is my personal opinion on metaphor re:fantazio, worldbuilding in this game are crazy, but yeah, i think you'll have to take time to know each members better, the more you do that, the more you'll attached to them. i don't wanna spoil, but there's some emotional scene at the end, and let's just say, i am pissed, at who? you'll find out when you play the game
I bought the Ultimate of Sparking Zero but haven't had time to play 😓 The mechanics look fun but the story mode looks kind of lack luster. I barely remember Raging Blast but I know I didn't like it cause it wasn't Tenkaichi 3 😅
Ok, for one the developers made it clear it wasn't going to be balanced. I also don't get how great ape Vegeta is enough to get people to want to rage quit. I was able to pretty much beat him at my second try for the most part, I can't be the only one. I've also never come across a fan that actually prefers Raging Blast to Tenkaichi. No offense but no matter how good Raging Blast is it always plays second fiddle to Tenkaichi, both in roster and mechanics, even if it's ever so slightly. And this is coming from someone who values them equally. You know I grew up in a time where I'm sure none of us had to sit down and think "wait, is this game balanced? Cuz if it's not it's a deal breaker" I'm pretty sure we were just grabbing the bull by the horns experiencing the game the way the developers intended and beyond. I think gamers today have gone soft. And many even want exploitative meta self labeled as skill wrapped in the guise of balance. It's as if they want to be the ones forging imbalance with the general perception of balance across the board.
@tbnwontpop8857It clearly sounds like you're not a Tenkaichi fan, rather a fan of Fighterz, or Street Fighter/MvC, Guilty Gear (that Fighterz is molded after) which are completely different games that I just so happen to be of fan of as well but not to the detriment of the integrity of the Tenkaichi series. This is not a sequel to Fighterz. Also the transition between Tenkaichi 1 and 2 was fairly drastic. 2-3 however was in a sense a similar transition to here with Sparking Zero gameplay wise, but it worked well, soo well that it proved it only needed to remain consistent. Also if you want to go there, Tenkaichi 3 was actually more balanced than 2 which leaned more into levels and skill capsules. Raging Blast 1 and 2 gave the series a visual makeover with a gameplay overhaul but it didn't reach the same heights as Tenkaichi 3 which sold like hot cakes. Though neither series was about balance despite any changes or tweaks through each leap in installment. You either liked it or didn't and most liked Tenkaichi unless you were living under a rock, which I was for a certain time before I discovered it. If you're in the minority trying to nitpick about balance outside of reason like the recent patch, then you don't belong in this. The question of balance in Tenkaichi is not a deal breaker. It's not even solely a multiplayer based game, even online (offline only till the Wii) It's primarily putting you in the shoes of the anime. If you want balance, then just use capsules to do it with your friends or the cpu, or limit your choices. Also you can't tell me people bailing matches just before or during a loss and mashing retry everytime Great Ape Vegeta launches a Super attack isn't being soft! You also can't tell me that some people who want a balanced game wouldn't still use balance as a means to play cheap with various exploits, spams, even rng manipulation in order to claim a self proclaimed legal win. Online support and better visuals is not the only incentive for this game, it's the new campaign, what if storylines, characters, forms and depictions, even custom battle mode. If you think Sparking Zero is a shallow rehash of Tenkaichi 3, then by your logic Tenkaichi 3 is a shallow rehash of Tenkaichi 2. Also the original Tenkaichi was named Sparking, so Sparking Zero names this out to be a soft reboot. It even outsold Metaphor which is once again a completely different game, like Persona. That's where the day ends!
To be fair to dragonball, they marketed it as budakai tenkaichi 4 and they also said point blank characters were gona be power scaled so pleassse give it another shot
@@Kanoog also the point that raging blast was more balanced is wild because every game that wasn’t fighterz had that power aspect, where characters like gogeta or fusions would be stronger than say chioatzu or guldo, main appeal being that if you are good enough it IS possible just hard to do.
Sparking zero is too early to be talking about meta, sm characters or skill might seem broken at first but that's like in every other game, n later learn that, the characters thought to be op is a bum. N there always will be a balance patch.
I pre ordered and bought them physically on day 1 releases. But i still haven’t got much time to play them. 3 hours game time for both games. I really need to take a break from work and play the games 🤦
I'm excited because I played the demo and I'm waiting to pick up my special addition copy of Metaphor. I was just wondering if there was anything wrong with a slow start. I sat down expecting a slower start to a new ip that is trying to ease you into the world where there will be a lot of new ideas and characters. The game has a quick pull up for terms, people, and places. So the player can quickly look up things people are referencing. It takes me to what persona says in the loading screen. "Take your time". I feell like it can be applied to a lot of RPGs because I understand that the combat is important but the other major pillar is story. If you lose that part th battles lose some of their appeal and story significance. This is long winded way of saying, I think it is OK for some stories to have a slow start.
You can wait and buy dragonball when it’s on discount wood. I’m playing metaphor, currently spent over 30 hours and is addicted to this game like totk, bg3 and ps5 royal
i dont understand why they thought it was a good idea to make character canonically strong . just makes the game so you cannot have fun since everyone will use the exact same strong character because other are made worse purely for cannon
SS4G is broken but he’s playing a point system. Gogeta cost 10 points. This is why AfroSenju only had 2 characters on his team. Yeah he’s a broken char in a 1v1 but in comp he’s not as good due to timeout and low team counts.
With all due respect I myself am not a die hard Dragonball fan; therefore I don't have a say when reviewing a game like this. But I do know who Vegeta is, and if you don't know who is Vegeta I don't think you've seen any Dragonball at all and shouldn't review this game at all. He's one of the very main characters of the anime. He's like the Sasuske to Naruto, the Grey to Natsu. Everyone knows him. Like the only 4 characters I know are Goku, VEGETA, Piccolo and Majinbu.
Sparking Zero is only for those who ABSOLUTELY LOVE Tenkaichi 3 AND have Friends to Throw Hands with As a Dragon Ball HUGE FAN Myself , its alright at best to be honest , its fun sure but without friends to enjoy with , its quite Repetitive and FIGHTING is all it can offer , the Story is MID , the What IF is alright ... but so far , my own opinion , is only NICE TO HAVE game as a Fan Quite Overrated if you ask me , just because of it became a soft-reboot also a Sequel to a game that came out 17 Years Ago , sooo yeah , its okay Wood .. its understandable if you returning it .. And as for sparking zero, hey i get it, i never really played budokai tenkaichi either and was mostly a raging blast fan as a kid but there really is a lot of fun to get out of the game, i wasn’t so sure about either and thought about returning it but once you get better, it’s a lot of fun. I’d say is mostly better to play with friends.
Sparking zero is just very straight forward and simple tbh. The anime is cool especially with the special moves but that’s about it. I’m trying to pick up metaphor hopefully this weekend I can I’ve heard some crazy cool stuff.
I can tell you have never played a dragon ball game before or your not a massive fan of the franchise and that’s fine but you have no right to give your opinion on something you no nothing about
@@ozziey52exactly it’s just fun based on the anime and it’s satisfying to play
@@ozziey52 I’m not hating on it as I am giving it a compliment while saying I don’t like something from it. So it’s just my opinion on the game just like you have your own so I’m not wrong neither are you but the game is very straight forward and simple nothing crazy.
@@aaronvasseur6559 huh 🤣💀
I’m glad that you can be so honest with these 2 games their fan bases are intense.
Is this a good pick for someone who's never played a Persona game?
Or SMT
YES. i’ve only played persona 5 fully and metaphor is easily my favorite game of the year. if you love fantasy and rpg elements, this is an easy pick up :)
Try the demo the save file carries over and if you enjoy it, get it.
If you like any jrpgs, picking up any of them that you think the style looks good. Smt is dark. Persona is more uplifting. Metaphor no idea since I haven't played yet.
@@strwrbttlfrnt Me, just up and forgetting that demos often exist. lol thanks that's a good point :)
Wait we can return games we don’t like??? That changes everything.
Maybe for store credit? Or he Karen'd it idk.
How did you return it?
The charizard box is AWESOME!
Metaphor characters are stellar, Strohl and Hulkenberg will grow on you for sure
Hi Wood, it would be nice if you could do a PlayStation 5 collection video.
In the custom battle you can make your custom battle you were talking about.
Budokai Tekaichi > Raging Blast
3:29
yup end the video there 🤣🤣🤣
How you explained Raging Blast is exactly what Budokai Tenkaichi games are but better 😂
Goku is the underdog in like 90-95% of every fight he’s involved with in the manga/anime tho.
My thoughts on your thoughts... I definitively got a lot more from your thoughts than I got from any of the reviews for either game. So... thanks!
They made the characters unbalanced on purpose. Which makes sense if you wanted to see how powerful characters compare to one another. They kept it realistic from the anime which is very cool.
this is my personal opinion on metaphor re:fantazio, worldbuilding in this game are crazy, but yeah, i think you'll have to take time to know each members better, the more you do that, the more you'll attached to them. i don't wanna spoil, but there's some emotional scene at the end, and let's just say, i am pissed, at who? you'll find out when you play the game
so you expected a tenkaichi sequel to be like raging blast??
well i expected zelda echoes of wisdom to be like TOTK
I never played Raging Blast, but I grew up with all the Budokai games and Tenkaichi Budokai games.
I bought the Ultimate of Sparking Zero but haven't had time to play 😓
The mechanics look fun but the story mode looks kind of lack luster.
I barely remember Raging Blast but I know I didn't like it cause it wasn't Tenkaichi 3 😅
As a fellow fan of raging blast, i too was also confused about budokai tenkaichi and sparking zero as well.
I'm not rushing to buying these games, pretty sure they will be on sales later this year and get ported to the new switch some time in the future
It's as if they want to be the ones forging imbalance with the general perception of balance across the board.
agreed on all points
They said it’s the next entry in the budokai tenkaichi series idk why you were expecting raging blast
I just started watching the new dragon ball daima series. It's really fun.
They just sold 3 million copies. It's still HOT, this game won't be $20-$30 till next year around this time 😂
both games are dope i just need to get around to metaphor refantazio
Metaphor is way better than p5 it feels like a serious game with goofy elements while p5 is a goofy game trying to be taken seriously
I thought wood like the opposite, would this be the beginning of wood redemption arc to like JRPG TH-camr?
Metaphor does seem to be decent...
I love your stuff wood but i think your problem with sparking zero seems to be a skill issue lol
Before dbz came put i strated practicing on the old ps2 games cause i knew this game was gonna need skill
To be fair to dragonball, they marketed it as budakai tenkaichi 4 and they also said point blank characters were gona be power scaled so pleassse give it another shot
I also don't think he knows about the character point value, sure you can have a SS4 but the other team could be loaded with great synergy.
@@Kanoog also the point that raging blast was more balanced is wild because every game that wasn’t fighterz had that power aspect, where characters like gogeta or fusions would be stronger than say chioatzu or guldo, main appeal being that if you are good enough it IS possible just hard to do.
I completely understand bro 😭 I need to put more time and practice into that god damn game
Which make it a great game, nobody wants a fighting game a new player can pick up and be at peek level
@@Kanoog I agree
Sparking zero is too early to be talking about meta, sm characters or skill might seem broken at first but that's like in every other game, n later learn that, the characters thought to be op is a bum. N there always will be a balance patch.
I pre ordered and bought them physically on day 1 releases. But i still haven’t got much time to play them. 3 hours game time for both games. I really need to take a break from work and play the games 🤦
How did you even return the game if you paid 70 that’s is new GameStop don’t take returns of new games or has that policy changed?
Skill issue
😂
I didn’t know you can return it😮
Can u return an opened game at GameStop?
Yay was so curious about sparking zero
Bro isnt about that dragon ball life ngl
Sparking Zero is only for those who ABSOLUTELY LOVE Tenkaichi 3 AND have Friends to Throw Hands with
As a Dragon Ball HUGE FAN Myself , its alright at best to be honest , its fun sure but without friends to enjoy with , its quite Repetitive and FIGHTING is all it can offer , the Story is MID , the What IF is alright ... but so far , my own opinion , is only NICE TO HAVE game as a Fan
Quite Overrated if you ask me , just because of it became a soft-reboot also a Sequel to a game that came out 17 Years Ago , sooo yeah , its okay Wood .. its understandable if you returning it .. I only keep it because I got 2 Friends that absolutely love it and definitely inviting me to throw hands once in a while
Aint no way bruh said "tenkaichi budokai"
