Wow! I just turned 93 years old and your family story was one of the best presents that I got
Bless you all!
That sure means a lot!!! Happy birthday!! 93 is AWESOME!!
Congrats Robert!! I agree, it is a great present.
"The Kid" is getting the best education anyone could ever hope for. Great job guys!❤️
The kid's smile is amazing. She is completely in step with the sarcasm and joy you all share. She is one lucky girl.
You need a garbage can to do it right and bury the lower unit as deep as possible. Water should pummp within 2 second or you are burning the new pump to a crisp.
Not after 2 seconds your not!!!
Sorry but the kid is the star of flying spark garage now, you two is just her camera crew now🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right?!?!! She’s so awesome!!!
@flyingsparksgarage this conversation got me thinking how amazing it would be if you and Aron had some beautiful kids.
they would be awesome parents!
I love watching your videos , y’all need to get the kid her own channel lol
Yes she is she is so cute alway happy with a smile
I really love how y'all take time with the kid and teach her things. So few people do that now. I really enjoy this channel.
Teaching the Kid delayed gratification and a real work ethic....priceless.
"The kid"is becoming a great mechanic. First her truck, now a boat. Next you will have her working on your airplane. Lol
Great To See You Aaron And The Kid Enjoying The Fruits Of Your Labor !! ✌️😉
🎣
I hope the “kid” pursues a love of cars and boats like you guys in her future!! Great content!!
that brought a tear to the sweaty welder's eye! i AM OLD AND TIRED BUT MY heat is right wig th Gawd and I Love peeple! Yall hit this one out of the park!
Love hearing that!!
That kitten said forget the bottle gimme some of that taco stuffing 🐟.
Good Evening Family , I am so glad to see you again today and I hope you are doing well and having a great day today Beautiful Lady !
Now....about those impeller parts....I tell everyone the same thing...." mistakes are the lights that illuminate the path to success"....looks like ya had fun....thats what's important.....nice work.....
Ah yes reaping the rewards of hard work ,time and effort 👍 that little boat looks really good, y'all keep it up and God Bless
Flying Sparks Garage - The best wrenchin'/fishin'/cookin'/weather updatin' channel on TH-cam 🤣Kidding. Always fun to be along for the ride no matter what you are up to this week.
A lot of kind regard's from Oslo Norway, to sees this family together showing how to work on old vintage car's and boat's is so cool. It show that it's hope for the future, keep up the good work, enjoy every episode of this you tube channel. This take me back to the 70 and the 80 with amcar's in Norway.Love the american livestyle ❤😊😊
Y'all are doing an awesome job teaching The KID! I don't know about y'all but it was so fun for me to teach my son's how to do stuff. I just got such a kick out of watching them learn and watching the confidence build in them. One is 30 and a traveling mechanic and the other one is 26 and an over the road trucker. I don't get to see them much but usually when they come to visit it's so I can figure out how to fix something for them.😂 But I don't mind one little bit. Love and hugs from Waco!😁
It’s awesome to see these old boats on the water. Brings back lots of great memories. Please remember to use safety glasses when using the drill.
@user-jj5bc7kn7o, it really is. I was a little kid in the ‘60’s, and boats like this take me back to care free times on the lake. A few years ago I got nostalgic and started buying old Evinrude outboards from the ‘50’s. A little retirement project I’m hoping to get to. I need to find a couple of period correct boats like this to complete a package or two. I’ll tell you though, some lakes will no longer allow the old two strokes. I think my Evinrudes run on either 16:1 or 32:1, I can’t recall, but either way, those old motors would leave a little oil slick in the water.
When the KID goes to start her channel with all the info an knowledge you two are giving her , hopefully she will find a kid to mentor 👍
You just can't beat a good day on the water topped off by enjoying some fresh fish. That looks so enjoyable. You don't need a $$$$$ rig to doe it either. Enjoy!
Agreed !! 👍
My husband and I just finished watching the video this was so super cool the look on the kids face priceless 😊😊😊
So glad you enjoyed!
I always do
I noticed the minnows in the plastic bag and it brought back memories of when I was about the Kids age, we (family) took a vacation to Texas and bought minnows in a bag. I thought it would only be a matter of time that it would catch on here, but not yet. There are some places that sell minnows like that but not everywhere. Thanks for bringing us along.
Aaron truly is the Wizard
The bow light has an extension on it for a small rectangular flag. Usually a yacht club flag.
That’s awesome!!! Didn’t know what that was for!

Take care of the Crack in the w/screen by drilling a small diameter hole right at the end of it.
To attend to the Crack is not essential, but can be glued with a liquid instant glue that can be gently applied & supported till set.
To improve the clarity of the windscreen try in a corner on the outside different products if you want to.
You might find that using simply a rattle can of clear single pack lacquer after a light sanding with 3m fine cloth with keeping horizontal strokes & 2 coats of clear lacquer will bring it up to an exellent finish.
First coat should be a light tack coat, then finish with a full wet coat before first coat goes off.
But as I say just test in a corner on the outside, as the inside surface is not affected from damage from the ultra violet light.
Good luck !
That was great. I'd love to go out on a boat like that and fish, reminds me of the 69s when Dad used to take us fishing on Belton Lake and the Brazos River.
Your youngun' is brilliant and precious! I love it when she is involved and learning great life skills!
Cool boat. Fiona the Bronco and ZRwannabe are looking good in the background ✌️💚🤓
The kid's smile is amazing. She is completely in step with the sarcasm and joy you all share. She is one lucky girl. i what come see you soon and i come over you house my love xx
Awesome !!! I think one of the coolest things a side from all your knowledge on autos, planes, and boats is you’re just like the rest of us and learn things on the fly and how to fix things…But the most awesome things are what you’re teaching the Kid about what really matters and a life time of how to do for herself!!!
I dig the way you let the kid do things that's how they learn by hands on I never had the patience I always worried that they would screw something up I'm better now that I'm older she's a sweetheart
That motor sounds decent should also have a peehole under the rear lowercowling on the midsection up high left side viewing from front.I seen this motor in videos probably blocked even though your pumping thru the exhaust holes. A paperclip works fine...and probably fuelpump diapragm is next,LOLL and your done and maybe gearoil too,Luvit!........
Its way to old to have that .
@@MrTomtustiThey had them in the mid 1950S I have some. You can check TH-cam videos out most of the videos you can see the telltale peehole if its not clogged up,LOLL. These old Wizards made by Mercury have them peeholes like the Mercs did......
Such a nice video, the three of you just enjoying yourselves and eating your catch of the day, life is good.
I love the way the “Kid” is learning to use all the tools!! More you g folks really need to learn that stuff!!
Emily, you and Aaron are the bedt!!
So much respect for your skills. Aaron, I bet you kinda wish you videotaped taking the bottom off the motor 🤪. Anyway, I live on Long Island in New York, so me and my friends fish a little different. We go to the south shore and get on a party boat. We try to catch fluke (or stripped bass depending on the time of year) and the crew fillets the fish for us. I know, it sounds snobby, but it's how we do up here and we have a blast.
That’s covered in the last Lonestar boat episode!
Great job, guys. Love to see the kid being taught right on everything she does. That fish looked awesome after it was fried.
Wonderful video!! Having learned to water ski behind an 11' car top boat with a 20hp motor, I learned that weight distribution is both sensitive and critical. It looked to me that you were a little stearn heavy. You could try moving the gas tank to in front of the back seat and moving the battery to under the front seat. You might also try adjusting the trim bar on the motor. That bar limits how close to the stern the drive shaft sits. Craft that size are very, VERY responsive and sensitive to the slightest weight movement. You might want to wait until you get the gear/throttle control and steering connected first. I hope the kid has as much fun running the boat as I had in my early teenage years in the car top craft.
the metal portion of the front light fixture can be sent out to be re chromed.
also the green and red lenses can be polished up with a dremil polishing kit with car polish .
then wax . thats what i did on my old boat years ago. 🤠
Great video guys, the kid has the cuteous smile. Nothing like fresh caught fish!!!!. Erin better watch out he might get out fished. I love that you guys are teaching her how to use tools and all about cars and boats. Keep it up!
Hey, Kid! That's how I got my start! Crawling into tight places on a boat with a pair of Vise Grips so my dad could turn bolts from the outside.😀
I just LOVE TK !
Great boat and a fun fishing trip really enjoyed it.
You learn once never forget the drain plug first thing on the check list before every mission, safety first.
I was thinking about that too. That’s a mistake almost every boater makes, but rarely more than once.
That t shirt with the flag and C10 is super cool!!!
Uncle Aaron got her that off Amazon!!
Seeing the looks of absolute joy on the kid’s face is awesome. Well done y’all 🤗
Nevr-Dull Wadding Metal Polish
It's such a cool little boat. I have a 66 Lone Star Tracer in my backyard that is now a fountain. I have a 1950 Montgomery Ward 5.5 HP on my porch I'd like to running. Learned a lot from you guys on the little outboard to help me on mine.
Your days of adventure were awesome, and your reward of fish tacos looked very tasty.
I like to have my fish bone in for several reasons: more meat to eat, and the bones do give a nice flavor to the meat. A bonus about the bones is that you can fry them up crispy crunchy like shoe strings fires and they are a mild sort of nutty flavor.
Great days y'all. Thank you for sharing them.
For cleaning rusty chrome I have found SOS pads work great! Also On engine work EZ-Turn Lubricant. It is thick like bees wax but water , gas and oil will not cut it. I have used this on aircraft engines for years! thanks for the videos!
I really love the videos with " the kid" I unfortunately missed that stage with my daugher but now I get to spend it with the grandkids
Those old Lone Star boats are timeless!! You could probably have a new windshield made for it. Loved this episode!!! You guys are awesome!!
Definitely a watch later video. It's 5pm in the UK and I'm Off to work now
those old two strokes are just so solid and can be rebuilt for cheep over and over and over
Awesome, memories for a lift time for the Kid.
The Kid is fast becoming my favorite person on this channel. 👍👍👍
Nice job……….but those light fittings are chromed and just need a jolly good polish to make them look real nice ! 😊
Got good results with naval jelly and a tooth brush on an old bike, the rims were rusty messes and it made the chrome shine again.
You may want to tell the kid not to wipe the middle shavings away with her hand. She may get one in it and it doesn’t feel good just a suggestion. It’s nice to see the younger kids learning a little bit of mechanics.
I did off camera after that! Lol!
Way cool. For such a small motor, that thing is pretty peppy. Thanks for the video.
I sure did enjoy the episode, but I can't imagine as much as the kid did! The boat is a classic! While I'd be tempted to make the seats into storage, it might be safer to fill them with closed cell foam (I think pink board will do) for flotation in case of swampage....
Yes rechroming is the way to repair the bow light. Though you can clean the lens up. The better way to have mounted it is alum ( to help keep corrosen down)(like metals) Rivet Nuts Threaded Insert. With the limited battery power , why didn't you use LED's?
Now that you have everything mounted take it all back off and put a bedding base on them. Keep the water off/out of them will help keep the rust from forming.
I was looking forward to this video. Didn't disappoint one bit. Had my eyes glued to the screen the whole time. You 3 are Rockstars together.
We sure do appreciate that!!
Emily, by the time your daughter is 21. She’s going to have a huge skill set built from you and Aaron teaching her. Way to go.
That’s their niece, they don’t have kids.
She’s an amazing human and we’re grateful to her Aunt and Uncle!!!
That is such a beautiful lil boat and I think this is one of my favorite episodes, have fun SEE YA!!
Ya may want to get a Small Hydrofoil for the Little Engine to help the Boat Plane easier? Cool little Boat and Engine set up! Then go Drowned some worms! LOL
Outstanding vintage craft. Very cool fishing trip. Making good memories. Great channel.
Hey Emily, the light fitting on the front of the boat is likely chrome on pot metal. Unfortunately, once it is pitted and corroded, it is probably not worth the expense to rechrome it. I would suggest to just polish it up as best you can with some metal polish and repolish every now and then as required. I think that the fitting not being perfect adds to the charm of the boat. The hood bird on my 55 Chevy is the same. I just polish it now and then which makes it a bit shinier but not perfect.
Perfect video - making life long memories! It does not get any better!
Reminds me of my uncles old Sears jon boat with a raggedy little Evinrud fishing for big cats in the Tennessee River. I remember one that seemed as big as my 9 year
Old
Self
The water pulls above your bucket water level, they make a clamp on thing you hook to a water hose, or you need a bucket about twice as tall. They are on the front side just above that fin
I love that little boat, simple technology other than the fish finder, awesome video 👍😁❤️
Great restore. I think the light plug on right rear needs to be turned 180 so it doesn't scoop water when at speed and when it's parked.
We use to use trash cans to work on are out boards
When trash cans were steel?
What a beautiful thing The Kid is having a great time,❤❤❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
I wondered what you guys did with the Bugatti and as soon as I saw that boat I knew. 😂
Should pull the new little boat with the kids c10
Great to see a young one wanting to help and learning. Most just stuck on computers and phones. More boat stuff how is the transom on the big boat. Also the engine swap.
Steelwool and vinegar to help resurface chrome. Then polish up with mothers chrome polish paste
That's a sweet old boat. I'm into early 60's Dorsetts myself.
Clean the chrome with a product called “Simichrome Polish”. It will do an amazing job! Boat is looking great!🙂
You all make some of the best videos that cover good things. Keep it up!
1:40 We would use a dab of wheel bearing grease to keep the impeller pin in place to slide the impeller on.
All you have to do now is hook up the steering, shift and throttle controls.
That guy smart he work on anything learning there daughter fix things
That isn’t their daughter. It’s their niece (her sisters daughter). She is learning a lot about mechanics from them which is a good thing. My Daddy was a Jack of all trades and I learned so much from him.
Your love for your neice is SO inspiring ❤
It’s definitely really rewarding to be able to go out and catch your own fish and do a catch, clean, cook with whatever you caught for sure!!! I absolutely love doing the same thing all the time that I get a chance to go fishing!!! I ended up getting a 18’ flat bottom boat and I ended up putting a 35HP Johnson on it and my pup and I love going out and fishing as much as we can for sure!!! I have had some issues with the motor lately though!! It will start up but when I put it in gear and try to throttle up it just wants to fall on its face!!! It worked fine last summer and it just started doing this the first time out with it this year!! If you have any ideas on what might be the issue I’d definitely love to hear them?? I put all fresh gas in and it has all new gas line and everything else!!! I have rewired it because I had noticed that a few wires looked as if the outer coating had melted a little and wanted to freshen them up!!! I have not tried it since getting all the wire replaced in it yet!!! Hopefully that might fix it!!! I just have to get some time to get out and try it now!!! Awesome video and I definitely love seeing you guys go out and catch the fish and take them back and clean them up and make a nice dinner out of them!!! Totally awesome for sure!!!!
To fix the Chrome on the light in the front, talk to Paul's Chrome plating in Pennsylvania they will fix the pits and rechrome it.
The motor fires up fast because Aron is a ACE MEC. WINDSOR ONTARIO CANADA WATCHING 👀CANADA 🇨🇦
Use some Dupont #7 running. Impound and steel wool, and that front light will come out near new!
I guess there is a lot of water in Texas...and a lot of places to go boating.
Awesome love the family fishing trip ❤
Love the lil boat! Love how y’all are letting the kid work on it as well. But one thing the flag should either be center or to the right of the vessel \ car. So on starboard side!
That’s interesting, please educate us?
Hi guys, watched a load .. first time posting, your cool lights and horn on your bow could.. I say could.. come back a bit by using aluminium kitchen foil but I’m sure y’all probably know/ will have tried that little hack already 🤷♂️the channel is well cool .. dying to see the kid’s truck come back (she is such a sponge for information..love her attitude) keep up the great job 👏 Kevin from 🇬🇧
Sure do appreciate this comment, Kevin!
Kool it's running.
They have a chrome polish, comes in a can and looks like rolls of cotton, Nevr Dull ive used it on old rusted motorcycle exhaust and brought back to a shiny finish
Nice! Love the boat! You guys are awesome!
Derek, Vice Grip Garage, talks about bringing back shine to old bumpers in one of his videos, Vinegar and 0000 steel wool if I remember right.
You can use steel whool to restore the chrome!!!
Love this!
Send that rain further down the coast . We will take it in Corpus Christi- - -
