- Our trip to Rhode Island included 2 nights in two different Inns, dinner at the haunted White Horse Tavern, plenty of shopping in Newport and Wickford , discovered THE cutest Tea Room, and loved seeing all of the beautiful homes. We just went for the first time last weekend. We toured some mansions, and they were unreal! The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House.
I've yet to tour the Mansions.....definitely on my list of things I would like to do.

Thank you for a beautiful video! We are going to Newport for the first time in July, and although I got a lot of great information from other videos on what to see and do, I LOVED yours the best! My passions are history and architecture so it was wonderful to watch a video of such a beautiful town, historic houses and beautiful colonial architecture. I cannot wait to get there myself!

What an incredible day I just had! The Marshall SlokuIm Inn was so cozy. The blue coverlet and rug, the views out the window, the sweet breakfast coffee bar. And the way you took us through the town and homes and water views, So relaxing and informative. I loved every thing. This has been bookmarked so I can take a mini vacation for my soul whenever I want. Thank you so much from my little kitchen here in California. Have a happy day!

Honestly, I liked them both for different reasons. A huge downfall to the Bouchard Inn was that it is right next door to an Irish Pub.....a bit noisy. Otherwise, very nice and a beautiful breakfast of homemade croissants and yogurt delivered to your door in the morning.

It's funny when you live here and take all this historical splendor for granted. I go to the White Horse for dinner every Saturday night - I feel so fortunate.

Enjoying breakfast and viewing Carla's adventures brings a very satisfying feeling🍞 ☕☕🥓🍳 and start of the day. Being able to view quaint towns especially the places that have plaques showing who once lived there, visiting B&B's and restaurants is very interesting information Enjoyed seeing the church where PresidentJFKennedy and Jacqueline was married .( Years have passed and now we have another Kennedy hoping one day to be President ⏳⏳, time will tell) Plus seeing you Carla in a very pretty color blue clothing was a special treat. 😊 Blessings and thanks very much ☮🇺🇸

Isn’t the Marshall Slocum Inn wonderful? We stayed there several years ago and still talk about how lovely it was. Newport is so walkable and from the inn you can easily get around town on foot. Your video tour is beautiful!

I just love your touring video's. I'm like you and have a love for old historic homes. Wouldn't it be fun to tour the inside of some of them ( hint, hint) I noticed that some of the home had two different types of siding, shingles on one side and siding on the other, Do you think there was a reason for that? thank you for sharing your fun.
Mark and I were discussing the same thing. I wonder if it had anything to do with the weather coming in from the Ocean? A lot of the homes on Cape Cod have the Shaker Shingle which is known to be water and rot resistant. I absolutely love the look.
Beautiful video but the music was very distracting until about 13 into the video. Lice Newport. Lived here many years ago.
I have a colonial house, so I absolutely love the architecture in Newport, but I think I would feel a little uneasy if my house was three feet from the road!
People have no clue that there was a big Navy Base in Newport RI .
