Kent, I really enjoyed REwatching this interview. Your insight and memories have added so much more to the podcast. Matt, we watched Prisoner Cell Block H on PBS in the US, but after the first season, they never showed the rest. So thanks to TH-cam in adulthood, I got to see the other 7 seasons.

Very interesting interview with Mr Mulholland and to get a perspective of the early days of Melbourne television. Also, I was at the Prisoner Silver Jubilee party that was held at the Nunawading studios in 2004 and I was the successful bidder of the prison windows mentioned by Ken at 1:00:22! I had had maybe a couple too many drinks and got a bit enthusiastic in bidding and suddenly found the other bidders had done quiet and I was suddenly the last remaining bidder. I think it was about $400 and of course I didn't have that amount of cash on me to pay for it. As luck would have it, another fan at the event must have overheard me having some regret over my inebriated purchase, and said he had that amount of cash on hand and would he be able to buy it instead. I said, sure, it's yours, so he completed the transaction and took the windows and while I missed out on that piece of memorabilia, I was somewhat relieved at not having to fulfil an unplanned purchase of $400!
Thank you for sharing that story, what was it like being at the channel 10 grounds ? I think there would be many fans now who would love to buy those bars 😀
@@TalkingPrisoner it was great to be there and have a look around and meet some of the cast, etc. Though it wasn't my first time at Nunawading. I'd been there only a couple of times before as a studio audience member for shows like The Comedy Company and years later at Rove Live, so I remember the corridor part of the building that Ken spoke about where studio audience members wait and then go through to the studio. A part of me regrets not getting the prison windows but I was limited for space and as mentioned earlier it was a cost I was not prepared for, so I hope it's gone on to be a much loved piece of memorabilia for another fan.
