Jean Simmons was beautiful, talented and an actress that could handle the full gamut of roles---from Shakespeare to Westerns. One of my favorite movies is The Great Country, even though she does not have a lead role--she is great. I will never get tired of watching that particular movie, even though she had great roles in Spartacus and Elmer Gantry among others. She had a fantastic smile and must be smiling in heaven.

Same fr Peck, a presence when he walks in a room and hair on bk of yr neck goes up when you hear his unmatched voice of authority and nobility. 2 of these classy grts and "Big Country" of US. Shld be a top 3 western movie. Don't forget bigger than life - Burl Ives! A giant of a man and show stopper when he speaks!
Interestingly, Jean was the first choice for "Roman Holiday" but she wasn't available and it went to Audrey who surely she's simply doing an impersonation of Jean in the part.
