- Azriel Clary sat down with Gayle King for her first interview since testifying against disgraced R&B superstar R. Kelly. Clary, who was a minor when she first met Kelly, previously defended him in an interview with King in 2019. This is her first interview since R. Kelly was found guilty on all nine counts against him, including racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

She didn’t know better until Kelly was away from her completely. She was dealt a hand most of us have never and will never deal with. She dealt with a literal demon.

She wasn’t raped she was sold by her parents. When i was coming up we weren’t allowed yo listen to R.Kelly less known go to a concert. Like be fr what parent takes a 16yr old to a concert of a man known for messing with children? She was abused BUT NOONE IS ACKNOWLEDGING her parents SEX TRAFFICKED HER FOR SOCIAL AND FINANCIAL GAIN. R.Kelly paid them until she was 18 then he cut the parents off and they joined ME TOO!

Those girls did live with RKelly but the parents exaggerated the story. The girls parents "sold" their daughters to live with RKelly but they were given visiting time and the girls had some freedom. Ive seen pictures where the mother took pictures with RKelly and the daughters during her visit. When RKelly couldn't pay or wouldn't then the parents started making accusations that they didn't see them and added stuff in the story.
Seeing this makes me so upset. My mom was in the same situation with her abuser to the point she was willing to leave me behind for him.

That’s so true. I was in a relationship with one. I took up for him. It took my mother 4.5 hours of lecturing, crying and talking to me to convince to even LOOK at the relationship in a realistic healthy way. I left him a week later. He was a classic narcissist.

I used to feel ashamed and embarrassed when around the fellas and I didn’t have stories to brag about how bedding women. This guy is a perfect example of who I would never want to be at my age.

What a good interview. She has her head on straight now it seems. She evens completely open and honest. I hope she doesn’t ever allow any human to tell her what to do or what to think by force. She needs to pick her own life and hopefully not fall back into another abusive relationship. There also many forms of abuse so it gets tricky but I believe certain people fall into a pattern of abusive relationships. We get out of one form of abuse just to fall back into another form of abuse in another relationship. So we must get help and start seeing the signs.

I knew from watching that first interview that it was all an act. Then, when I found out he was actually in the same room, listening, it made me feel even more uneasy about the whole thing. I'm so glad she walked away. As a fellow domestic abuse survivor, I know how hard it can be. But you get to a point where you over comment, and it feels amazing to have known you walked away.

Being a hardcore R. Kelly fan this is always broken my heart because I went through similar situations with my adopted father and later a horrible relationship. And that's why I'm so interested in this case. I just want to share because this girl is SOOO STRONG. I really want people to see this. We all really need to support this woman she needs it.

Her skin isn’t as glowing, the bags under her eyes, but it could just be makeup/lighting/or not getting good sleep the past few days.

I remember when I was 14 & had a similar experience, the thought of facing my abuser & having to sit in front of a bunch of strangers and answer questions, & get bullied by a defense attorney was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever been through. Thankfully he pled guilty & I didn’t have to take the stand, but the months of preparation & trying to build the courage to do it was more than enough. I truly hope she knows what a strong, beautiful woman she is. ♥️

You can see the pain, depression and struggle in her eyes from crying a lot in therapy. I'm glad she got a lot of agony out of her system and is getting stronger and braver. Praises to her being so courageous and resilient in telling her story, and moving on from that despicable garbage abuser. So happy she's finally free and healing. And VERY grateful to God that the monster who tortured her is in a cage for 30 years where he belongs. He deserves a life sentence. He's sickening.

Can definitely relate to her saying for some victims, the more you try to warn them or get them away or say you don't like their partner the more they'll pull away or hide or not want to be around you or speak with you, I went through the same thing & when you come out of it you wish so much you'd listened so much sooner but it just isn't that simple when you're in that situation, sadly. But she's definetly right in the sense of for those victims/survivors there's nothing anyone can do to pull them out of their situation, sadly it has to come from themselves.
