As someone who is a lifetime Spurs fan (born & raised here), we will always love Demar. We completely understand how hard it was for him to be snatched out of Toronto, the city he gave everything for and called home for many years. Regardless of how he felt about San Antonio, he was a true professional that always gave his best effort. Spurs nation is so happy to see him succeeding on a better team and we wish him the best!
DeMar, very inspiring. We absolutely run into stumbling blocks of various magnitudes in our lives but it’s how we respond that shows our character. Thank you for continuing to just be you. Forever loyal fan from the North. We love you brother
This is one of Draymond's best interviews. It's not everyday you hear what players questioning themselves sounds like. Everyone talks about the same 12 superstars over and over, but there are dozens more solid players like Derozan in the NBA that don't get enough credit. I think that's at least half the reason the Last Dance was so good. You had a glimpse, the same as this one, on what was going on behind the scenes with Pippen getting shafted, Rodman needing an outlet, and the animosity toward Kukoc.
Yes. This is a basketball specific conversation. However, this is a great conversation and discussion regarding how each of us deal with set back. Not everyone's walk is a straight line (ladder), sometimes it's an obstacle course. This is great life advise and not simply great content. Great interview!
Hey Draymond keep doing what you're doing. Players need that free space to express themselves. Players trust you and you maybe saving lives and you may not realize you are doing it.
Big shoutout to Demar. From the time he started speaking on things like this to now he's gotten a lot better at expressing those points. He's speaking to a lot of people here, myself included. Very motivational and inspiring!!
im happy demar and respect him 10x more for his response on joining the warriors they won a title but he also won by showing people he's still one of the best players in the league and last yr hands down he was a top 10 player
What a champ at heart Demar is. Love you man. You didn’t have much help in TO and it was tough. But it’s totally different now, and would be such a great way to end your career back with the Raptors. We have the pieces around us to help you win here. I know it’s wishful thinking, but it would be a great way for Masai to correct that one big mistake, or rather the way it was handled.
I’m glad to see Mfs smiling and I know public perception don’t always reflect the story but I’m hoping he in a good place mentally. Hopefully this energy can translate to the season and to the team so we can take the next step.
i heard he might not stay in GS if he don't get tht max. But tbh I j couldn't see him playing good with any other team. I feel like he would be trash if he wasn't in the position he's on w the warriors. Not offense to his greatness, Draymond is an incredibly intelligent player and always brings tht fire and spirit. But idk i feel like the only team tht could fit his identity/style of play is the warriors.
Demar on the warriors would be cool … he deserves a real chance to try win Demar game always been nice The media and fans saying Demar shoulda took a minimum was wild like he still a solid bucket
I think it all has to do with the fact that he was traded against his will, lost his best friend (Kyle Lowry) and the guy he was traded for won it all in 2019. So his mind was not in the right place over there. Luckily he channel those negative emotions into some positive and that is the real reason why he's on top again. Props Demar!!! 👏👏😎
@@juliohan8478 nah that’s not it in SAT they play through a system where one guy doesn’t have the ball more than 12secs , their play style is to continuously move the ball around no iso no individual shine … nothing . That’s why Murray just left . But in Chicago he can be the demar he was in Toronto basically
@@BetterGamingChair u right the system messed up his game but I think his mental state also has a lot to do with it. He only balled so hard last year because of how low he felt during the off-season. I'm a Lakers fan and I wish they would've signed him!
@@BetterGamingChair ever heard of David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, or TIM DUNCAN?? Dont tell me you cant be a Star in S.A. because of the "system". Team basketball is how the game should be played its a team sport.
@@shaw6405 That Spurs team when DeRozan was there was so poorly built. DeMar played PF his entire last season because they had so many guards and little size. His struggles definitely wasn't the SAS system and was more about the collection of talent on the team. Not that much space on the court to operate when you got DeMar, Murray, Aldridge and Keldon all on the court at once. They had zero spacing for the talent they had in today's NBA. That was their problem.
these dudes probably have one of those easiest "jobs" a person can have and be acting like life is so hard when uncertainty comes around, shit is so annoying like please
Kawhi went thru so much more compared to you because he was being hated by the Spurs fans and organization when being traded with you. And you was loved by the fans and the raptors organization. Why are you feeling sorry for yourself? Til now, Kawhi never seek validation or attention on social media even after he won the chip for the raptors, and that’s why I feel you’re salty for that reason. But that’s why Kawhi is a real champion. Never making excuses and always working hard in crafting his skills and put in work to pursue a main goal, and that is winning championship. Yet u sit there talking about every excuses and feeling sorry for yourself for what you went thru? That’s why you’ll never be considered one of the greatest

Same, he always gonna be a Spur, and San Antonio appreciates what he gave to us. For sure.
we need more fans like ya 2
MAKE THIS NEGATIVE MAKE SENSE DOWN THE LINE...deep words to live by.
I rewind that 5x....so encouraging ✊🏾
Look at Damars body language ; So calm and expressive. I think he should do his own podcast as he seems to be very self reflective and articulate.
okay..EVERYONE cannot or should not do their own podcast....that gets tossed around so much.

DeMar is such a real one. His game has long deserved far more respect. Hope he gets that long overdue chip.

This was by far, the most excellent interview! You guys are doing the darn thing! Keep it coming! Dang!
He went IN last yr! His iso game is basketball beauty.
