Draymond is talking about wanting to see a therapist but what he doesn't know is he's already speaking to one cos that convo in itself was a healing session and this kinda reminds me of that passage in the bible that says 'confess your burdens to each other that you may be healed`. Big ups to DeMar and Draymond 👏
Just want to throw this in here, but this podcast was recorded (presumably) before the 23/24 season started, or very early into the season. Since this, Dray started therapy this season during his suspension and has talked about how helpful and insightful it's been for him.
u know demar respects green if he telling him personal info like that goes to show how dumb nba fans r believing anything they watch from the media. Green gets a lot of respect from hoopers.
Demar Debo DeRozan is a SOLID DUDE. As a Canadian and a Raptors fan he was my 2nd favorite Raptor but after listening to him being vulnerable and open about his mental health and therapy, he's became my number 1 Raptor ALL TIME.
As a fellow Canadian and also a raptors fan I've been saying this, he's the GROAT for me because after CB4 left HE manufactured winking on Toronto, he had to work like crazy on himself to make that happen, and only after he did that Toronto started winning a little and people decided to give it a chance Kyle is seen as the best just because he stayed, and why did he stay? Cuz the spurs didn't want him. I love Kyle don't get me wrong but Demar man! Thank you for everything👊🏿 I know we'll meet someday and I'll be able to tell you that face to face.
The part about being traded unexpectedly while your pops was seemingly dying and having your daughter the day he was buried and having to play a game that same night... That's a different level of tough. I really love the fact we get to see you open up more demar and I hope this will be a little like therapeutic for you brother. I'll definitely be watching every time y'all drop
Man I was thinking the same thing. Say what you will but Dray has a lot of relationships w/ dudes In the League who say the same thing about him. He solid as hell. He’s obviously a real one and the media paints this narrative of him that ppl just attach to.
Haha yea he said it's all about maturing hahaha that was funny. So question is when is dray maturing??? Haha. This is all about views n likes n getting paid n we all here giving it to them. Smh what a joke
I did not know much about Demar as a person until I saw him on Draymond's podcast and really liked what I heard. What an inspirational dude. As a sixty four year old white dude from the Bay Area my circumstances growing up might have been different but my love of basketball was a language all to itself that helped me meet so many people. My role models on the court were first Kurt Rambis and second Dennis Rodman as I had a passion for setting picks and blocking out amongst other attributes. It's the little things that don't hit a box score that bring victories and both of you get it. In this Tik Tok era people tend to judge people on their best and worst moments in life when in reality there is so much in between that truly defines you as a person. I remember times on the court where I got so pissed off about being undercut that I picked a dude up and pinned him against the wall and told him next time would be his last time. If that was the only moment you ever saw of my life you might thing I am crazy. People that haven't participated in a competitive game don't realize what passion can bring out in a man or woman.
When a 64yo dude says it's the tik tok era and not the post-pandemic economic recession/regional conflict area... ah fuck I see what you mean to quite an extent tho. Don't even use the app personally but I can see the impacts it has on people both online and even in person
This is great. Being an ex-pro athlete. We didn’t have an outlet like this to express ourselves. Athletes are seen as superheroes sometimes, and people must realize that we go through things emotionally.
Appreciate the present and past players having podcasts (Dray, Demar, PG, Bev, JJ and etc.). Gives us a glimpse of their world within and outside basketball. Much thanks and respect to all of you and keep pushing the social platform boundaries.
This is incredible Demar! My 11 year old daughter is a full time hooper and the biggest bulls fan, we watch every bulls game and she learned how to draw fouls by studying you! So glad we found this channel ❤
Keep this up DeMar! You're saving several lives by doing this and helping so many to get help and therapy or proper treatment for support in treating and taking care of their mental health. Very powerful and inspirational all of this DeMar and love you lots for doing it and continue to create more effective awareness on mental health🙏🙏
Shed tears listening to this conversation, thinking about my own trauma. But I'm with Draymond I've tried 3 therapists and felt like they were judging me and decided it's not for me and looked for other outlets...
DeMar, this is such a great idea. The dinner table is underated in our society, but it's something that can greatly benefit us. It gives space to talk, be heard, communicate, and be seen. One things I've learned is we know the light because of darkness and vice versa, being grateful and patient with ones self is vital for growth. Much respect!
Respect🫡 I am a basketball TH-camr from Taiwan and DeMar is my favorite player since Junior High. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and you will always be my hero 🙌🙌
I’m glad I got to see DeMar play for my hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. Hell of player on the court and an even better man off the court. Much respect for using your platform to give us these gems 💎
I am a huge warriors fan. Considering that this was filmed in 2022 and seeing everything that happened with Draymond and the warriors in the 2023 season, I wonder if things would’ve been different for him if he had went to therapy. It is great to see that he was actually considering it back then. Also it’s so refreshing to see professional athletes addressing mental health and not pretending like they are immune to life’s problems. It’s good for our youth to see that it’s okay to not be okay and it’s okay to seek help to better yourself and deal with your problems. I loved watching this and can’t wait until the other episodes come out!
Same, same. Have resisted therapy for many years but my current primary care kept suggesting it. Finally stumbled across a virtual program where I can have sessions over the phone for six months, instead of going to an office. So far, so good.
Thanks for doing this, honestly. I’m sure it means a lot for many of us. As Draymond said, playing basketball at this point it’s easy, but this, this is hard and brave. Thank you!
One of my goals in Life is to have a conversation with DeMar. Off the record on the record doesn't matter just want to have a honest conversation and thank him for his impact on my life. Literally been following his career since his high school days and man what a journey it has been. Proud of you Deebo 💪🏾#ProveEm
Damn, i’m excited to see more of this! DeMar’s voice isn’t really out there like that but it clearly needs to be. What a powerful talk to be gifted the opportunity to witness.
As a huge fan of Demar, this is officially one of my favorite TH-cam channels. He has been such a great inspiration for any aspect in my life. I appreciate you Deebo!
Thank you for this DeMar. Watching this from Ethiopia, father of 3. I've never seen something this inspiring on youtube... I'm learning to deal with my stress, especially traumatic stress recently. I'm looking forward to seeing your journey through this 🙏
Beautiful episode. As a combat vet from 2003 invasion of Iraq (amongst other traumas/PTSD), I've been avoiding therapy for years. I never gave it shot. Not against it, it just seems to be inconvenient...but everyday I feel a little closer to something worse. Really open to getting this started. If only the VA here in ATL wasn't so packed all the time. Always an excuse. See Red Etc.
DeMar! You will always be my favourite Raptor. I appreciate this conversation and your vulnerability in general. Lots of love and continued support to you in all your endeavours. Lots of love to your family and loved ones. Cheers
Demar love the things youre doing. Mental health in boys and men isn't talked about enough and I love how you are just expressing yourself and having other men express themselves so openly. Hope this blows up
Thank you for creating a platform where we regular people can see what life is like as an NBA player, what its really like from the other side's perspective
So proud to have you in Chicago as our star. You stand for the right thing man, having struggled with mental health basically my whole life (up until the last few years where it’s gotten way better) it’s super amazing to finally see role models like you teaching people how to push through their struggles in life. You ain’t gotta do this but to go out of your way and make these videos to help others is awesome bro. Can’t tell you how much I personally appreciate you as a human. You got huge value demar, and all of Chicago looks at you as a brother, much love man
2 of my favorite players having an honest and deep conversation! Thanks DeMar. I hope you know you're loved here in San Antonio. I know it was a dark time in your life, but you honestly gave me some hope in those days post Kawhi. As you know the Spurs are a part of the city and the culture here and you helped a lot of us get through a tough time. So for that I thank you.
As a basketball player, as a speaker, a human demar you have helped me so much in life. I’m going through a lot right now and watching you play and hearing you speak gives me an outlook on life that I can truly appreciate. Thank you for this I can’t wait for futures episodes.
This is why DeMar is one of my two all-time favorite players. He is down to earth, genuine, honest, loyal, humble and kind. I’m so sorry for the loss of your father. You’re a great man, teammate & a representative of the NBA. I look forward to the next podcasts. God Bless.🙏🙌🙌🙌
The new media is changing the world for the better. Can't express how impactful it is to see two people of this calibre having an open conversation like this, would love for it to be fully uncut in the future, god bless you both.
Good for you Mar, keep expressing yourself and helping others by showing what letting this stuff out does for someones mental health. But more importantly keep helping YOU.
Well my life just got a little bit better because of Delmar Derozan. What a great example of the potential uses of celebrity/success. He’s the right guy for this. I’ll be tuned in. 👍🙌🙏
You guys didn't sugar coat anything. Really appreciate the breakdown about getting to therapy, how long it took to find the right fit, and how therapy continues to benefit your life. I'm excited for the next episode!
Proud to be a part of this. DeMar started a necessary movement with this!
real
DOLLA!
Mine & my brother’s favorite players 🔥🙏🏼💭
sup mvp
Him & Kevin love
Gotta get someone like D Rose on this 💯 he’s the embodiment of learning to vocalize about your struggles to make it through to a better place mentally
frfr
D Rose would be a top notch episode!
That's real.
Amen.
It pretty similar except the therapist charge you a 100 an hour 😅
Just want to throw this in here, but this podcast was recorded (presumably) before the 23/24 season started, or very early into the season. Since this, Dray started therapy this season during his suspension and has talked about how helpful and insightful it's been for him.
u know demar respects green if he telling him personal info like that

Green gets a lot of respect from hoopers.
DeMar showing its bigger than basketball We appreciate u fr
DeMar I hear it, Deless I like it
Real shit here. Respect ❤

As a black man, dealing with mental health problems in this systematic country we live in.. this episode was a BLESSING for me🖤🤝🏽
You know what we deal with. With that said, stay strong and stay blessed, brother!!! I'm praying, and rooting for you to win big time!✊✝
Stay strong brother 🙏🏿
Don’t care what yall say draymond a real nigga he a kind human being and so with Demar I’m glad he opened up and spoke

No he's not lmao he refuses to learn from his mistakes. He literally endorsed Miles Bridges just last night that's disgusting
@@aswathravindran3273 no shootings today?? Bored??
Draymonds opening statement about your relationship made my heart melt🫶🏻
Demar gotta be the realest athlete out there
Demar, you're already one of my favorite Bulls of all-time. As someone who struggles with depression & anxiety, I respect you even more for this.
Pretty sure you meant raptors but it’s your boat. 🫱🏽🫲🏾
DeMar you will always be my favorite player♥️♥️♥️

Nice to see Demar open up. Also nice to see someone shed light on Draymonds true character
This show is going to do numbers. Especially this one with Dray. NBA players are HUMAN. Legit conversation!
Draymond!!! A huge reason for the warriors success! Passionate to the max!
i felt demar when he said people will call and ask for something and won’t even ask how you doing or anything first.
They busy being broke and poor. They in survival mode
For real people never reach out to me how I am doing but I always have to ask everyone else

Your comparison of finding something in therapy like it's a film session is so incredible. You're the best!
DeMar will forever be my GOAT.
