Great work fitting that engine in there without chopping out the coweling, and the retracts are just awesome. Great job over all.

80’s and sweating? When it gets that cool in Texas, it’s time to fly.
    Cool plane!

Looks beautiful! I have the .60 P-51D kit to build. I’ve always loved the Top Flite kits. Their construction manuals are top notch.

You started the build in April? You don’t build full time? You must be very efficient. It looks terrific, if I had a project turn out that well it would never fly. (All of my planes fly...harder to see all the goofs.) Thank you for posting, it inspires me to keep building.

Are you daring me to knock that battery off of your shoulder? I loved watching Black Sheep Squadron too. When I read the Jolly Rodgers years later I was surprised that Pappy Boyington hadn't drank himself to death by the time the show was made. When he died in 1988 I was once again shocked that he had lived that long. I was sad to hear that Robert Conrad died this year. I kept saying that somebody finally knocked that battery off of his shoulder and nobody knew what I was talking about.

Is that the Dynam, 110 painted with dessert scheme in the back ground?? Im 52yrs old born in 1968, I to grew up with baba black sheep, lol, in fact the reason I never bought any f4u was bc i love german planes, but if I did buy a f4u it would atleast be dark blue corsair blue 😁 What else is ironic is your wedding ring is the same looking as mine, and my dad grew up in Minnesota, lol, and he taught me how to build stick models, so thank you i love your channel, it brings me home. DANA JOHNSON, COLORADO.

I am about to assemble the ARF version of this plane. I am wondering if you can shed any more light on the removable cockpit? That looks like a brilliant idea id like to implement during my assembly.
Thanks for the great video! Any additional help or direction is appreciated!!

hi, im not sure the arf is the same as the kit but if it is even close you make two more fuselage formers that fit right tight to the fuselage formers that are in the canopy area. they will be the front and back of the cockpit. then glue them to just the side sheeting and cut out enough of the sheeting to where you can glue the canopy to it. these will be the top sides of the removeable cockpit. the sides and bottom of the cockpit make from some balsa sheet to how ever it looks right to you . there are no real rules to it just have fun and mistakes are to be learned from . =D

Any chance you can share details about the canopy kit ? How you made it removable ? Great job.

hi and thank you. i will try to put it in a nut shell. make two more fuselage formers that fit right tight to the fuselage formers that are in the canopy area. they will be the front and back of the cockpit. then glue them to just the side sheeting and cut out enough of the sheeting to where you can glue the canopy to it. these will be the top sides of the removeable cockpit. the sides and bottom of the cockpit make from some balsa sheet to how ever it looks right to you . there are no real rules to it just have fun and mistakes are to be learned from . =D

What do you think about the performances? I have a fg19r3 on the shelf that might be installed in the same bird. I might détail and glass it to increase details. What do you think about the power and weight with your setup?

I think the 19r3 really flys this model.i like slow flight flaps and gear down.very stabil.
