Hey guys! Discount code & links in description ✨ I ended up gifting the tennis bracelet to my mum for an early mothers day present! (It was so hard to part with but she deserves it! 🥰) I’ll share a little video of me giving it to her on my instagram soon 🥰 I have intentionally shared these tips with an emphasis on always taking into consideration your own personal style because I think that’s really important. I hope you find this useful! Lots of love ❤️ x
Great tips, and I feel the same about belts. One thought about the "can I wear it with 3 things" guideline: this works if you have an almost full wardrobe that works for you. But it can be paralysing for someone who hasn't looked after their style for years. I used to be in that spot and wouldn't buy anything ever because I didn't have anything to wear with anything, and I got stuck for a long time.
Ohhhh I had never considered this, but THANK YOU for sharing 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I will definitely adjust my tips going forward to accommodate for this (however next weeks tips video had already been finalised 😋) but after that for sure. Thanks for bringing this up 🙏🏽❤️
I have a note in my phone with the measurements of my favourite fitting garments + for my husband’s favourite clothes as well. Then I take a measuring tape (on my key ring) when I go shopping/thrifting. I avoided many a tight trousers 😅
😂 I started doing this when I found minimalism too, suddenly I became conscious of proper fit and started measuring everything, I have an extractable measuring tape permanently in my bag too. Also helps with online shopping when companies give measurements of clothes lengths and you immediately know it's a fail, no need to buy and return.
Great tips and reminders. I have gotten rid of things too and have regretted it. I try to be careful so I don’t end up trying to replace things I got rid of earlier. Your style doesn’t necessarily change as you get older but how things fit does so adjustments in some things are needed. I have always had a retro vibe and I probably always will. (I’m 59 this year)
So agree with you about "dress for your age" talk. I am the one that goes against that as well. I love wearing something that's suitable for me, not only for the sake of my age. I am the one who can decide what to wear, not anyone else, as long as it fits my look and my style.
Such a nice video! I really like your content and also your prsonal style, I get a lot of inspiration by you! The one mistake, to buy without plan, I really did a lot in the past and sonetimes it still happens to me when I see such nice peaces around. But as you say, it makes a huge difference when you stop this habit compleately. A really good tip is to go in shops, try on some things without buying it and then go home an shop the own closet. We all have so many things at home, so it's hard to wear them all during one saison. It's only the fun of something new that I am missing sometimes, but I'm working on me to minimize that as much as possible... 😉😊
Great tips! I definitely don’t dress”my age”, but there is a point where items like crop tops and mini skirts just look silly, or like a person is trying too hard to not look old. You are definitely not at that age! Lol! You’re still just a youngin! 😊
Some clothes, not all of them, with puffy shoulders are great for women with an inverted triangle figure. Once in a while I felt very lucky to have tried them on and they have become some of my most favorite chlothes to wear. Mostly they are kind of cropped, at least the waist is accentuated a bit over the middle.
I just turned 30 and i had your thoughts too, but i didnt get rid of anything, one my face looks a bit young so the "grown older woman conservative looks" i was gojng for would be laughable, someone would think i was a young person trying to play pretend. (So i was in a dillema for a bit because i knew this but also thought "i have to dress like a 30 year old" ) Next i was like...how is a t-shirt and jeans not for a 30 year old? (That's what i mostly wear haha, but I've been trying to branch out) I then refound my favourite "out there" fashion youtubers (street style, tom boys etc, ex fashion editors who keep up with trends) to remind myself older women have different styles too and i was thinking of a particular style and personality when i thought about being over 30. Finally i realised we can wear the same thing as we grow older, it just becomes more refined, a teenager might wear wide leg jeans that drag across the floor sweeping the debris and germs of the street because "fashion" (guilty as charged), a 30, nay an 80 year old might wear hers an inch or more above the floor because at that age " function plus fashion".
All good tips! Fun to see your son and Fanta. I like the suggestion to go try on stuff without intending to buy. I’d add: Take photos of the try-ons from about 5-6 feet away.
Oooh yes great addition! 😍 setting up a little folder on your phone to store outfit images is a great idea. You could also post them in a private Pinterest page so that you can delete them off your phone 🙏🏽 thanks so much for your comment ❤️❤️ x
fyi. Uniqlo is not French; they are Japanese. I recently started watching your videos. You mentioned in a different video that Uniqlo was French. I once said the same to my Japanese colleague; imagine her reaction 😁
Oh no that’s not what I meant! Hehe! It just had a French label on it, like it was originally purchased from Uniqlo in France. The label was all in French, not in Japanese or English !
@@EmilyElizabethMay a half tuck it's not classy looking at all as it makes it look like you cannot make up your mind whether to tuck your shirt in or leave it out I would never do one and you would never see one on a lady of true class I will be so glad when it passes and it will
I recently put on weight and sadly have to move away from the full tuck for now. I found 2 strategies to help. Either choose tops tat are shorter in length, ending higher on the torso to resemble a tuck, or go back to the full tuck and add a fitted not oversized but blazer or open cardigan
@@emptynestscrapper961 that makes sense ❤️ how do you go with the half tuck as opposed to the full? Have you ever tried an overshirt over a tshirt, if so, do you like that? Thanks for sharing 😊
@@EmilyElizabethMay hi. Thanks for the reply. I’m sorry if I was not clear. I stick with a full tuck but need a completer piece with it. Either a sweater or blazer. The half tuck doesn’t work for me, maybye it’s my age combined with carrying extra weight. I feel the half tuck is a look best for younger trim women (I’m in my 60s). However I recently tried the t shirt with open button down and LOVE that look!
Hi Elizabeth, Please start doing some variations. I used to follow you until your style totally changed and have become too relaxed + the styling tips over the years have become common tbh. Do some vlogs etc, please. This is surely a request but not sure on your reaction. God bless
Age is just a number!!!!...😉🫶✌️❤️🍀🌞👒👟👠👜👗 and life is too short for age..my family's favorite motto, and not only because we really look very young😅😉xxx❤🇬🇧
Oh interesting thoughts! That could be it! I also think they look great on people who have a more hourglass figure, but I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on this too 😊

Smart! I usually try on clothes when I go shopping in the stores. But this can eliminate clothes won’t fit, so I don’t waste time trying on!

I absolutely have a list....this is new for me, but I love it!
Thank you for the great tips!
You are welcome! ❤
I'm not a belt wearer either with trousers or jeans. Maybe with a dress sometimes.
Really really like you as a person and the way you’re speaking Emily ♡ thank you for the great content! 😃
Lot’s of love from Vienna
aaaaand - I understand the “belt problem” - feeling you so much! 😂🙏🏽
Aw thank you so much love, that’s very kind. I am dying to visit Vienna one day 😍 xx

Oh the red dress REALLY suits your skin tone. Gorgeous
I have the same feeling with belts! 😀 and just discovered your channel, will keep watching! ❤️😀
Thank you so much lovely ❤xoxo
I feel that I need to wear a belt as well, but sometimes it really looks better without one.
Great tips!

Loving your hair too
Thank you so much lovely ❤️🙏🏽❤️
I love your tips videos! ❤
Thanks lovely! 😍
I don’t like to wear belts either and tried SO HARD. There are few styles that work for me.
Perfect video. 🥰🙏🏼

Oh Gosh! Congratulations desr Emily. You have a baby. So nice and 🥰 cute. 😍💙
You have such an amazing jawline!! You are stunning. Thanks for the motivation to bring out my gua sha again 😂
I haven’t alway but lately I’ve been struggling styling my jewelry. More specifically my watch with bracelets. Can you do a video on that?
Hello! Where are your linen trousers from
I am also not a belt wearer, I think it has to you with the body type, for someone who has long lines it makes no sense to break them😊
You are such a beautiful soul..😊

never dress your age!
Love! ❤
You cannot tuck your shirt in if you have a large protruding belly
A half tuck usually works great for this! The way the shirt falls on the sides creates a lovely shape

I think at-the-waist belts are better on people who are not high waisted. It does not work. Ribs are right above ⏭️⏮️ 😮
