I have this. Can it be used without water because you have to deal with muddy sponges afterwards? I hate that and prefer throwing dust in the bin to muddy water. The sunction can be weak from the beginning without apparent reason. (Pipes are clean, water is clean with defoamer, cable is straight and parts attached correctly. )
I bought one 2 months ago and I'm not really happy with it once I wash my carports and suck a ton load off water it keeps on spitting the water form the top and once I touch the plastic to switch it of it shocked me. WHY? I will be taking it back to macro where I bought it hope they will replace it maybe its just that one that is faulty.

Bennett Read YLW6293-B - Shocked at the use of corrosive components in a Water filtration Vaccuum! The machine functions well, but the primary water filter (sponge filter) is almost impossible to clean! The bolts and nuts of the interior are not stainless steel, and was already showing signs of corrosion before the first use! With a fancy name such as Benett Read, this is a most disappointing non-feature... I initially purchased a smaller Veri Mark product from Makro which I immediately returned as it was spluttering water past its seals. The sales person advised that this BR product was the best! Great for everyday cleaning, user friendly and excellent for dust and dust mite reduction, which was what I was looking for as I suffer from emphysema. Totally disappointed, as for user friendliness, it takes me approximately an hour just to clean the machine and then the airdrying of the filters for standard weekly storage. If not done properly, this machine can stink like a sewerage farm!
Dont know why people are insulting this it shocks you because touching water and elctricity allows it to flow through you and anyway its amazing suction and blowing as well as water extraction from car carpets

We noticed that you mentioned using the Hydro 15 for water extraction from carpets and thought we should advise against that as the unit is designed to suck up water spills from the floor (hard surface) but not for water extraction from carpets as this feature requires the unit to be used without the filter and can cause carpet fibres to be sucked in to the motor unit and will block the vents on the motor. This will eventually lead to the motor burning out and any signs of dirt, carpet fibre, or animal hair on the motor unit voids the warranty.

Use a desert spoon of laundry softener (Stasoft) Just as effective and MUCH cheaper!

Thank you for the enquiry. The Hydro 15 is not a deep cleaner. It only uses water in the tank as a sort of filter which traps dirt.
