    Some info about contact charging that may help the uninitiated, such as myself, that still use an older phone.
    I have always had a UAG case on my iphone 7plus. I intend to upgrade to the 13promax and asked UAG about contact charging through their "monarch" case. They recommended at least 10watts charging output to ensure it would get through this thick case. This Goldstrike Cybercharger then, at 15watts, should not be an issue with any of the thicker phone cases. Exempting any metal case, of course, which will not allow contact charging. This is why phones that allow contact charging are glass backed.

    Installed this Cybercharger and LH perch on my 2021 Goldwing today. Gotta say, alignment leaves a lot to be desired. Cannot get this anywhere near facing the rider AND have the switchgear uncovered from riders line of sight. Have yet to cut the Vee in the ball mount area, but may end up having to do so. Not Cool ! Should not be necessary, but maybe R&D missed the ball on this one !
    Have fired off an email to Goldstrike tech support, but from what i can ascertain, there is not a longer perch arm or extensions available.

      As suspected, there is no alternative hardware. The stubby little ball perch arm is all there is. I cut Maxs vee which helps out some. I may also alter the plastic nut to get some more movement out of it. Ideally an arm with a double curve about 2" overall length, or a 5/8" ball extension, would accomplish mounting your phone and having it visible, while also being able to see the switchgear pad.

      I have an extension post kit coming available any day now... might cure your problem. It will be inexpensive with 1" and 2" options for increasing the height.

    Too bad that the CB switch gear takes up that spot on the left handlebar. I suppose you could mount it on the other side, but something else may already be there. Wonder if there's a way to somehow mount a bracket *behind* the CB switches?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are going to make a standup spacer to raise the phone holder, which might work for the CB gear.
      Do you have a 6sp or DCT?

      @@Traxxion: Mine's a 6-speed.

      @@tomboyd224 You can get our left side radar detector mount, which attaches to the top of the Clutch Master Cylinder on a 6sp and you have a place to mount anything you want. We bolt a RAM ball to it, and can attach anything. You could attach the Goldstrike top piece with an aluminum stand off to get the height you would need.

      @@Traxxion: Thanks. I'm not sure I want a full 32 oz Butler mug hanging off the master cylinder though. It's not as awkward as I thought it would be reaching across w/the left hand to grab the mug on the right side, but thought that mounting it on the left *might* make things easier.
      I'll certainly keep it in mind if I decide on mounting something else. Thanks again.

    No Data cable and no Android auto, Why would you do that?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people just connect their phone to their helmet via their Bluetooth, and that's all the connectivity they need.

    Doesn’t help with IPhones and CarPlay.

    • @Traxxion

      What do you mean? This is a wireless phone charger.

    • @kiwiaudio8462
      @kiwiaudio8462 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True dat ! Would need to run a lightning cable which defeats the purpose of contact charging, so therefore a standard phone mount would suffice. Of further concern, these mounts seem pretty rigid and vibration is killing the newer generation of iphones !

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kiwiaudio8462 I think there's a pretty fair amount of vibration and flex absorption in the entire handlebar system... since the front suspension is disconnected from the handlebar system via tie rods, there isn't much in the way of constant shock being transmitted to the bars like on a telescopic fork. I haven't heard of Wing owners saying their iPhones were being damaged before.
      Just another reason to buy an Android! :)

      @@Traxxion Max, you have an android phone so you don’t use apple CarPlay. I’m testing a device called Car2Play that makes CarPlay wireless. I’ve been using it in my 2021 4Runner with flawless success. You may want to get one and test it for your customers. If it works well I plan on installing the Quadlock with wireless charging and Shock Dampening on all my bikes(5) and 2 cars. The Goldwing is the only one that has CarPlay but both cars do.
