      Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      2Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
      2 Peter 2:1-3
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's. clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15.
      2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

There was a report that he accepted the altar call by phone through an evangelical tv show but it caused issues with yoko and then stopped pursing Christianity any further. • @abbeyneeson5183

I used to go to Laurie’s church in Riverside. I am disgusted that he is now mixing these (on record), satanic or new age musicians into the Christian realm. If he keeps promoting this as a leader, it says in the Bible that leaders are held more accountable than the rest for leading followers astray. He is either KNOWINGLY part of the global spiritual agenda now, or he has saturated himself with things of this world so much now, that he can’t discern what’s right or wrong, biblically. Either way, he is definitely on the wrong path & we should pray for him.
These musicians were definitely NOT CHRISTIANS, & if anyone needs proof of this in the fruits & words of their lives, let me know.
This book will lead many people astray. You can’t mix Jesus with these musicians blasphemous words & call it Christian. Leading people to stay in & continue to follow the beast system is what this is.

@@praymore3785 that quote has always been missinterpreted; as always, you have to see in the context. And it's on youtube when he said that. First of all they were almost teenagers, and they said that The Beatles were more famous -at that time- than Jesus; which we could say was true. But they didn't say they were better than Jesus. It could be even read as a criticque of capitalist/pop culture they were into.

@@brunosm.l2267I heard John Lennon say it live that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus. John and the rest of the Beatles were grown men in their 20s, not teenagers. Lennon made that statement in a matter of fact way, and even though it may have been true at the time, it was said with a great deal of arrogance. If any member of the Beatles was a Christian, especially John Lennon, they kept it a secret. What they did was to follow and make rich and famous a Hindu guru, chant and meditate per his teachings, and even advocate for drug use. I'm not judging them, I am merely stating that I never once heard any one of the Beatles profess a belief in Jesus Christ.

That is all true. But what does that have to do with the content of Gregs book? I guess he talks about from the history of rockandroll from a Christian perspective. Dylan has a trylogy of ouutward christian music, I recommend listening to his last album Rough and Roudy Ways.

Interesting that Lennon created a very hostile song around 1980 (released posthumously in 1998) that parodied and mocked Dylan’s gospel song, “Gotta Serve Somebody.” Lennon’s song was titled “Serve Yourself” and left no question about Lennon’s disgust of Dylan’s claimed conversion to Christianity.

I understood Bobs comments on 60 minutes that he "made a deal" with the "chief commander" in this world and the world we can't see as both Satan and God (Christ). I believe that Satan does rule the earth as the Bible states. Christ rules the world that I cannot see. I have no clue what his context was but its fascinating to me nonetheless.

This is a.much more intelligent comment than those that say he sold his soul, etc.
Because there is that dicothomy that 'he made it' in this world, and he is enchained to that in some way. But as he says on his latest album: "they talk all night, and they talk all day / not for a minute do I believe anything they say".

    • @TheMidnightModder
      @TheMidnightModder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Dylan was very vague about it. Depending on if you're a Satanist or a Christian the "chief commander" he spoke of could be construed as either Satan or God. That's how vague it is. The only context he added is a description of the person. "[The] chief commander... in this earth and in the world we can't see." Still this, though, could be construed as either Satan or God depending on where you look at it from and to the extent you look at it.
Based on Dylan's other interviews I think he's speaking of God as the chief commander. Though, of course, he could be speaking of Satan. Satanists believe that Satan is 'above God' and was 'courageous because he stood up to a tyrannical creator.' So you never know.
I certainly don't know if he's saved or not, but I err on the side that he is. Artists are just dramatic sometimes. We don't mean to be, that's just how we look at the world and convey our thoughts. And it doesn't help that Dylan speaks in a monotone matter-of-fact way lol - Straight laced people get confused by that.
To sum it all up, this really is a semantics thing. It's too vague to say for sure from this one interview.

He absolutely did. And there is no confusion about who he was talking about like another commenter suggested. Dylan was talking specifically about the God of this world. If you know the Bible, you’ll know his description is how satan is described. If you don’t know scripture, the other commenter may confuse you & have you believe Dylan was talking about God Almighty. He wasnt. That’s a fact.

I don't know Greg Laurie. I haven't followed his ministry. There's a reason for that. This is not a judgment, but he comes across as puffed up and full of himself. There are other Christian leaders who have a similar demeanor. I'm sure they reach some folk, I'm just not one of them. Jesus found me in the 60s along with millions of other hippies and flower children. Laurie seems to believe that he is the founder of that Jesus movement. I never heard of him 55 years ago nor did any of my friends and we lived in Southern California. If his ministry is helping others, God bless you all. However, watching him strut around and bluster about Jesus is embarrassing.

If done with a pure intentions, anyone can wait that last moment,,ask for forgiveness of their sins, profess they believe in Jesus Christ and are repenting of their sins, and yes enter the Kingdom of God. But that's a tricky , costly and cheap way to become a believer in Christ. It's a scarey way as no one knows that last few minutes before they die. So it's so immediate that no one wait but confess and turn to Christ Now.

Whether or not Bob Dylan is still a Christian isn't for us to judge. I do believe at one time, he sincerely was saved.
