I may be a little late to the party on this one, but film reviews are evergreen, so who cares!
I hope you all enjoy my first film review. The Creator is an interesting film, for sure. It gets so much right whilst also seeming to drop the ball on a bunch of other fundamental filmmaking factors. Consider adding The Creator to your New Year's Eve/Day watchlist for those yet to experience it, as it is a pretty good time overall, albeit a tad frustrating for film geeks like myself.
For those who have seen it, what are your thoughts on The Creator? Please feel free to drop a comment below with your views.
    Happy New Year, everyone!
    - Luke
(P.S. You can expect my third video, covering a little-talked-about aspect of Scorsese's Killers of The Flower Moon, in roughly a fortnight).

Having just watched this film I do agree with you. What an achievement to produce such a film on a relatively modest budget. I also agree with the story, more depth would have been good. Thank you for your insight.

Love the video Luke! Funny that I just decided to watch this only days ago so it's fresh on my mind. I agree with every critique in your video, and like you, I still enjoyed the film. I hope it inspires more films like it. I hope you review two of my favorite sci-fi films ex-machina and blade runner 2049. I haven't watched killers of the flower moon yet but I'm pumped to view it. Excited for future videos!

Ah thank you for the kind words. And I’m glad you agree (and that you enjoyed the film).
I definitely plan to review/analyse Blade Runner 2049 - easily one of my all time favourite Sci-Fi’s and Denis Villeneuve is a god of cinema, in my opinion 😂.
Ex-Machina wasn’t on the list, but consider it added. Great film but I haven’t seen it for a long time.
And Killers of the Flower Moon is an interesting one. I have a feeling you’ll enjoy my next video on it 😁

@@luke.hoffman I enjoyed this. So requests are allowed ...... right .
Then I would love to hear your take on Tenet. I just can't stop watching it.
It's very Nolan-esque, an essential piece of the canon. I would call it the most Nolan of all his films.
I've watched it loads of times..... thinking about watching it backwards.

@@Obbberon Ah Tenet is an interesting one. I'll be honest: it's probably my least favourite Nolan film because, among other things, I think it lacks the crucial ingredient of 'good characterisation'. The concept is excellent, and it's visually incredible. Still, the need for more robust and interesting characters, the convoluted plot points, and the messy exposition make it less enjoyable for me, at least compared to his other films.
I will revisit it, though, as it has been a while, and I may need to try again with fresh eyes.

It's his James Bond film... not usually known for deep characterisation... great villian though.
