This movie (THE CREATOR) was everything I'd hope it would be when I watched the first trailer months ago. Needless to say I loved this movie. It is one of my top five favorite movies of the year. The acting, the story, the messages and the special effects are all top tier. Please go see this in theaters. ASAP. My rating 9.8/10. My only complaint is that it could have been a little longer for story development, but that is just a nickpick the movie is excellent in my opinion. 😆👍
I saw it twice and it was even better the second time when I could sit back & take notice of the immense attention to detail in the VFX and overall production design . Incredible film with such depth and emotion and so much respect for Gareth Edwards, really pushing the film industry into the future 🎞️
Left the theater and immediately thought there’s definitely a longer version of this movie. Some parts felt rushed and jumpy in the edit. I hope they include an extended cut on Blu Ray. Either way, good movie.
There was 100% a longer movie. Remember in one of the interviews they had a hard time getting it down to two hours. It should've been a 2.5, 2.75 hour movie.
gareth should be proud of the movie he made. in fact, i hope the studio allows him to release an extended director's cut when it premiers on video/streaming james cameron - the terminator - machines are the bad guys gareth edwards - the creator - machines are the good guys
great film! watched it twice this (opening) weekend. Great and personable story. The set and costume design is so cool. The sound design was amazinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg. Try to watch at an audio enhanced film such as Imax w/laser or dolby or even prime would be wild to watch this movie in. I am forever impressed how impressive this film looks with only 100M budget. Spoilers: I love knowings there's so much more that exists. Would be great to see more of the LA explosion & more Nirmata lore, as well as more badass battles sequences.
--I thought going into the movie it would be about Al too. But it absolutely is not. But because I went in with that preconception, I was taken in as initially seeing the stimulants as subhuman. Slowly as I saw them as very human, I realized I had been given a taste of how those people who are able to see others as sub human actually feel. This is part of the reason why this movie is my all time favorite. It is about how achieving peace is about recognizing how we have the capacity to view others as subhuman. We need to guard against this evil impulse. The problem is you have to ALREADY have enough compassion/empathy 'hardware' already functioning in your skull to care about the message of this movie. After reading snippets of about 7 different reviews, I have not seen one reviewer who seems to care about the real message of this movie. Thus with this seemingly lack of empathy reflected in those reviews (as well as additional evidence like the G* aza tragedy), we see why we have the chaotic cold world we live in.
Did anyone else see all the links? He comes back for his bride in a garden of olives in the sky. That’s just one. Why isn’t anyone asking these questions?
The basic idea of the film is good, but the imlementation is pointless and illogical, with many loose ends. We are given no explanation for almost nothing. It's quite an achievement to take such a good idea and make it almost shitty
This is the best start to an interview lol. Such a human moment.
I would have ran from Haunted Mansion clip
@@MrXabungle
Fact.
I could listen to him talk about this new way of filmmaking forever.
Saw The Creator last night I really hope they release a 3-hour director's cut would probably fix all the flaws of this great movie
They added all the fx after the film was complete and edited so it might look kinda weird. Unless the go back and add the fx, which would be awesome.

What were you four other favorites this year so far?
Gareth’s process was amazing. Brilliant guy. I hope other directors also follow him and amazing, new, exciting original films like this get made.

The Creator is a masterpiece, one of my favorite movies. Gareth Edwards is a amazing director, loved Rogue One too 😊

Sure but the cutting was just very different to most films these days.
Apparently the director's cut is 5hrs+

I wouldn't mind that 5 hour cut 😂
Gareth is way way talented. thought Rogue One was incredible. Couldn't wait for the Creator. Exceeded all expectations.
We need Director's Cut of this (almost 5 hour cut would be quite interesting). It might fix some of the film's pacing and some other issues.
I want to see that 5 hour cut 😬
Great interview! I can’t wait to watch the movie.
Hank Corwin has long been my favorite editor. I had no idea he did this, but that is encouraging.
what hes talking about when it comes to the vfx is so well documented in the MAKING OF his 2010 film MONSTERS - so good!
Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.
My favorite movie of 2023 and my new favorite filmmaker.

@kermodeandmayostake your influence knows no bounds - 13:38
Great movie. top 5 movies of the year. Please make more
the references to "The Tree Of Life" are pretty clear in those scenes of him remembering his past

He should have been the director for all the new Starwars. What a mistake Disney made
Not entirely sure, but i, for sure would want to have him back to star wars.
An instant classic

Garetth doing his best Neil Bloomkamp impersonation with this one.
Funny how Gareth doing what most scrappy indie filmmakers do is considered "radical".
It is when its a major sci-fi movie though with a massive scope.
His first movie, Monsters, is on youtube for free right now, (10-3-2023) fwiw. 500k budget and he did all the fx at his house. Dude is amazing.
"The Creator" is a heart-warming sci-fi film, which is one of the sleeper films of 2023.
Would love to see Gareth team up with Blomkamp on an idea.
Wow factor 😮
I need that John Woo t-shirt Steve 😅
There's no going back. You've changed things, forever." (Joker voice) But that's gonna be the case about how movies are filmed after this movie.
I want to learn .❤
What do u want to learn bot?
He looks like older rupert grint
Did anyone else see all the links? He comes back for his bride in a garden of olives in the sky. That’s just one. Why isn’t anyone asking these questions?
Hybrid humans, AI savior.
YES SCI FI CREATOR 😎💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
LMFAO...I gotta pee....HAHAHA
