  • We say goodbye to Cape Town! Finally. After months of prepping the boat we leave the False Bay Yacht Club.
Life is about the people you meet and this is episode is all about that. And about a guitar, and music, and memories.
We FINALLY leave Cape Town and set sail for Knysna.
    Music featured:
Barbara's music teacher, Jenny Eaves, featured at the concert and her songs throughout the video. You can follow her here: / jennifereavesmusic

Marelize - jamming on our guitar :)
We are planning to live and explore the Indian Ocean from our sailboat. We did a refit of a TOSCA 36 and left Cape Town in October 2018. A large part of sailing is learning how to be adaptable and change plans - our biggest being our failed engine as we were making our way from Knysna to Port Elizabeth. Follow along as we figure out how to live with less.

Safe journey. I leave early next week for Guadelope from the Cape Grace Marina. I can’t wait. I’ll see the rest of your videos in a 40-60 days.

Looking forward to next week's vlog as I had to navigate through the heads as a test from my German friends that I sailed with on their St. Francis from Cape Town. They were on their way to Madagascar from Brasil. Fair winds and referring you two to other sailing channels I follow. As Mads from Sail Life would say "See You"!

Thanks Robert. And how was The Heads for you? We also want to pop by St Francis before we go.

@@SailingPluto Arrived at 07:00 as the tide was at its height incoming and the markers well in view and obviously freshly painted, was a Breeze. We, fortunately, had a host meet us as the channel started and guided us all the way to the marina but we were moored right at the Deli/Restaurant (34 Degrees) which was a bit 'Bizzy' St. Francis is quite the entrance as well, just watch out for those crazy fishermen. Enjoy your evening/night!

Wishing you fair winds and happy sailing. Still waiting for our plan to come together - hopefully before the end of this year - and then we'll catch you along the way. There's a small crowd of Cape Town boats heading towards Madagascar in the next couple of months. Looking forward to finding you somewhere...

It would be great to catch up for sure, Paul! Good luck with the boat and prep work. The world is smaller than we think and paths cross when the time is right. Looking forward to it.

We went back to CT to collect the landy and it is with us. Lots of exploring to do on the Garden Route. Will send it inland when we leave.

Wow this is a dream of me to one day sail out of South African waters towards a life long dream, I am currently setting up my web site to enable me to get some sponsorship on my dream so please share more of your journey so that I will stay positive in my goal.
I know it is five years ago this video's but it still gives me something to keep my focus on.
    Fair winds,
