I can't believe that my PS2 is still working! My PS2 had not been use since 2012 because i moved on to PS3. Now 4 years later its still working perfectly! I just can't believe it! Sadly, the AV cable and the controller is damage. Idk how long my PS2 can survive because of the dust is inside the console and it might spoil in the future.
+MCTV Chris That's because my PS2 console had been used for over 12 years and sometimes i was playing all day causing overheating at the time. I thought its broken because the console its full of dust. The console can spoil because of dust you know? Not just outside but the inside of the console.
SpareBrains561 The PS2 doesn't overheat simply by being used though, so unless it's incredibly dusty i can't see why it would do more than just throttle the CPU.

I always loved the “whoosh” sound, it reminded me of the ocean haha. And the little icons when you load a memory card, I had Battle for bikini bottom and SpongeBob would be marching in place haha.
You forgot the Japanese/European PSx. It was a PS2 with a built in cable set top box. It was the first Sony product to feature the Icon based system menus. Which dominated all Sony products for like a decade.
Even though this console, PS2, is the 2nd PlayStation, this console is more nostalgic than PS1 because I did enjoy playing Gran Turismo 4 on it when I was little, not to mention that I never actually touched PS1!
