Hi installed the aux cable to the RCD510 as shown in video but it doesn't work , no noise at all.. Do I need to activate it somehow? Or how would I test to where the issue is. Thanks
@@HeathFix hi, thanks for replying. Yes I managed to activate it through the settings however I'm now only getting sound from the left side speakers on one side of the car and nothing from the other. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
@@altafp82see 5:45 check the polarity of the 4 pin connector that fits under the AUX port. Try flipping it. Or check the plug, 3 pins matched schematic on the back of the rcd510? Or finally, Check the 4 pin connector is made correctly (may be difficult) or chop the cable midway, cross reference with a pin-out diagram for 3.5mm : switch wires until you get stereo. Helps if you saw the colours when connection to the rcd510. Good Luck!
I think its possible to get an adapter, or chop one plug (not reccomended) from memory ones front and the others a back aerial or something, try googling and post back here if it works!
Not sure I understand the problem. Do you have a CD changer (CDX) external to the RCD-510? Maybe the connector at the back got loosened during the install? Otherwise check you settings menu or put a CD in to test he eject (maybe somethings like a CD is stuck inside and throwing off a sensor) Good luck!
You'll need at least the plug that fits the back to the rcd510. As long as your ordered part has 3 wires you could wire it in no problem. Check the wiring diagram in this vid, make sure you get Left right and common ground in the right place
i installed the same aux cable as you in my rcd300 enabled aux but the sound volume is very low i maxed volume on both phone and radio to barely hear the music and it makes noise when i touch the phone ( maybe the cable is not grounded properly? )
I'm not sure how it is for the rcd-300 but for low volume issues the RCD 510 has a volume gain/boost option in a settings menu. I set all phone app volumes to MAX and about 20% on the RCD510 head-unit for a comfy setting. Regarding feedback noise, You're probably right, check grounding somewhere, between the head-unit, or if you charge the phone via the USB lighter this can cause issues if the charger or 3.5mm cable is of cheap quality (don't quote me on this though) :-). Let me know what works for you!
the cable i ordered was for the rcd510 and the order of the cables R/L/Ground(red white black) is diffrent from rcd300 so i changed the order of the cables and it worked. Thanks for the reply. Yes there was so much noise because the cable wasnt grounded :D
WannaBeNinja Hi! I have a RCD 300 and I have had the same grounding issues as you described, when installing the aux adapter. Can you say in which order you put the 3 cables (red, white and black) to solve the sound issues? Thanks in advance :)
look the 12 pin cable the same way as you connect it.In the first row the 4rth one must be the R(red or white i dont remember) the 5th the L(red or white) and in the second row the 5th must be the Grounding ( the black one)
HeathFix But in the RNS300 their is no button to get into the aux. I saw in some videos to enable the aux just double click in the cd button what do you think?
The-Down Shifter also got mine installed, bought some cd discs with music in them and thought aux was supposed to work on track 1 but it wasnt playing music from my phone.. read some things on forum and people say you gotta activate it through obd2 connection..
Late reaction. But i have a golf mk5 GTI 2006. Will this work on my RNS510? Because yours is 2007. And after i install it. Can i play music with aux on the aux setting? Thanks
Late reply here too, but yes it will work for your RNS510 AUX too (regardless of year model car) but you might see a little variation on some labels but that's about it. Not harm in trying you can always go back to retro radio. Or maybe you've already done it by now? Lemmie know how it goes!
@@HeathFix do you happen another good link for a product like this? I really like the way it looks with the little cover and everything. Ebay link is cold as expected ig 10 months
Tamás Kiss, what type of radio do you have? It should be similar procedure if it looks like the rcd510 (or rns510). Rcd510 has an option for AUX (and sometimes bluetooth) but you need to activate it, done simply in the settings menu of the radio. No codes or anything. Hope this helps.
I really want an aux cable in mine but this seems way too hard for me .. :(
Looking at this after owning 4 golfs in 2 years I can tell it's probably the easiest thing you will ever do
Would it work on a audi a3 8p 2007? Got bose and cd changer
Why I don t have as manny pins in the aux area?

There's a menu in the RCD510 to activate AUX did you find it?

I had similar problems plus I went to a specialist to get it fitted but sadly no joy.
thanks for share the video , can i connect a revers camera ??????
Is there a way of making both aerials fit on because I now have no signal on my radio? Thansk

It’s only connect and use?
Basically yes
Anyone know how to instal a USB port in a mk5 2006?
Where can I purchase one of these connection kits?
Link in description. Ebay search the part number to get the best price tho! 😁👍
The ebay link is gone
5KD 035 724 is the VAG number. Try Ebay search, example (EXPENSIVE!) : www.ebay.com.au/itm/401939232386
Does it Work with rcd300?
Hey, I have the aux port set up in and I can plug it in, but when i click CD, it just says "no CD". Do you know how to fix this? thanks.

Try clicking CD twice in a row.
My Aux cord that i ordered on Aliexpress doesn't have a mass wire. Is that a problem? Should it work?

Why isn’t mine working? I’ve just installed into mk5 golf 1.6fsi 2008 and I can’t get it to work. Any help will be appreciated:)
See comments below, most likely have to activate your aux in settings menu. or check the plug or wiring. Good luck!
Hi thanks for the video !
Please i have a question :
After the installation how you can play the music with the aux câble ?
The-Down Shifter you need to enable 'AUX' in the settings menu of the radio.

Would this work in my 57 plate GT mk5?
To answer my own question after investigation it doesn't support the 57 GT as no Aux option on stereo sticker
I can do this with 2004 vw rns-mfd2 ? Golf 5
It work but sounds very low, can you help me??
Crank up the signal voltage or gain in the rcd510 settings, or volume on your device that's plugged in

Did you manage to fix it?
How does it work after you put everything back? I mean how do you access the aux input in your radio? I would like to do it on my 2006 VW Eos.

I did he same to my golf mk5 but it does work
Does it work for gof 5 2004 rcd 300 ?
Anis Benhamla this vid is for 510, but did it work for your RCD 300?
Did it work for you? According to WannaBeNinja above it works for RCD 300, but may have grounding issues?
Just get an aftermarket radio, most already have an aux input in them
