@briansibanda4969 it's a piggy back of harnesses...the cig lighter is using its original harness, then the USB ports piggy back of that....yes i unplugged the original harness to connect the usbs but then it plugs back in....it's like a daisy chain
Hi. Got some questions. 1. Does this affect how much power is delivered to the cigarette lighter? 2. Are these quality i.e. they won't damage any device that is connected to them? 3. Is there an option to get three of those ports for a VW MK5 Golf? I will be having two of the ports available to use for the car, but I want one port hidden underneath the console so that I can connect some footwell lights via USB. Would there be any issues since the footwell lights are 5V and this is a 12V connector?
Doesn't affect power out put to the 12v port. The 2 I have are linked in sequence...don't see why you could purchase a single and double and link the 3 together...footwear lights will work of of these

Erm a 2010 Scirocco. I think the light actually went off after a while..... Only just installed about 30 mins ago so not sure if it just stays on for 10 mins or something. It doesn't charge until I switch the car on though so maybe it's some sort of remaining power in the circuit?
@delboysung if it's not charging until ignition is on then there will be no battery drain, leds can hold a little power for a short time after power source is turned off.
Hello, I installed the same USB ports on my Golf 4 car, but even though the car is not running, the USB port lights are on and never turn off and it continues to charge the phone. What could be the reason for this?
That will be because the golf mk4 12v port remains on even when the ignition is switch off....not sure off hand but I think the mk4 12v port fuse can be move so it ignition live instead of permanent live

Thank you for this Vid, just fitted mine and moved my parking sensor to the middle, looks really good. The silver bendy clip that’s on the front and back of the parking sensor unit (to hold them in) the front one come off and I couldn’t get it back on, I’ve put it all back together and it seems fine, I guess it’s ok without it but any idea how you can put it back on the unit?
@Dave, I’ve connected a fuse adapter so my cigarette lighter stays on after shutting the car off and it doesn’t drain the batter. I’m curious once I toggle the usb into the lighter, would having those usb still on drain the battery?
Hi. I got the same wiring harness as yours but have the QC3.0 and TYPE-C+PD plugs. I saw where you plugged the big female connector to the cigarette lighter but am confused as to where the smaller male plug that runs off the female one that plugged into the cigarette lighter goes. Mu harness has two plugs in addition to the two USB plugs. I hope I haven't totally confused the hell outta ya! 😂! TYIA.....
I'm sorry but I don't know which plug you mean...unplug the cig lighter, plug harness from usbs into the lighter, then plug original plug for lighter into the white plug on the harness 🤷♂️

How did it go trying to charge a laptop? I’m trying to find the wattage output with no success but if they’ll charge a laptop that’s in use, that’s a great sign.

Do all these have led the usb or not because nothing video he video it up to a fuse box with messy wiring and looked like a fire hazard (not your videos another (TH-camr) something about it draining the battery it looked a mess this looks better

It piggy backs off the 12v socket (cig lighter) they light up when ignition is turned on as the 12v port is ignition live, not constantly live

what voltage do they provide at the usb output, are these plugs also chargers and provide 5V, mobile phones are charged at 5V, also dashcams...
3.1 amps fast charging, all charger provided 5v....its amps not volts

It's a straight forward piggy back from cig lighter to harness. Cig lighter still works after all is plugged in.

They are just clips to stop them from being pulled up and out...not got a clue how they go back on 🤷♂️

Mine fast charges my S23u and partners S22....not super fast like wall plug...definitely states "fast charging" when I pull my phone in
