Let's not forget that this interview, if you want to call it that , happened DURING the British invasion, music wise, and Elvis probably did have a little resentment about that . An invasion is usually considered to be a bad thing and it WAS for Elvis for a time. Eventually, when the British invasion faded away, Elvis made his comeback and showed the world that he was still, indeed, the king of rock and roll. Groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and , yes, even Herman's Hermits certainly can have their place in music , but when you try to overthrow a king, there"s always going to be some resentment. Elvis' title is secure in spite of the British invasion of the 1960s. Long live the king of rock and roll!

So awkward to put both of them on the spot like that. A missed opportunity but even at that, this goofy interaction is more Elvis history for those who love him.

I thought Peter Noone came across very badly. Maybe he was nervous but I feel that he should have treated Elvis with a little more respect. Maybe he didn't have enough time to think about what questions he could ask Elvis and he could have been a bit starstruck. I am from Manchester and a fan of Herman's Hermits and a mega fan of Elvis.

When I was in grade school here in The States I had stacks of 45 rpm records from when my mother was younger, and one of them was Herman's Hermits' "Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter".
And this was in the 1970s, when you obviously couldn't trace calls. So kids used to have a ball making prank phone calls.
There was a girl in my class with the last name "Brown", and one day I decided to do a prank call on her mother. I cued up the song right at the beginning of that line "Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter, girls as sharp as her...", and then dialed. The mom answered, "hello", and I said, "Mrs. Brown?". She said "yes". And then I put the record on and eventually hung up.
A few years later the mom got a job at my mother's workplace. When I learned this, since I was older, I told my mother about the prank call, and she told Mrs. Brown who remembered the call and got a real kick out of it.

According to Marty Lacker Elvis didn’t warm to Peter Noone. Not choosing HH’s as his next favorite band in spite of Noone hinting was his subtle way of showing it. And to be fair Elvis was a little bit of a situational control freak and he may have felt a little ambushed by the cheeky mocking Brit’s.

So sad that Elvis never knew that Parker would keep him from touring and preforming in other countries. Parker only cared about the whopping 50 percent he was making from Elvis. It is cause Elvis could have made it without Parker but he brain washed Elvis into thinking that he needed him to make things happen. After Elvis realized it in 76 it was to late. Parker put the nails in Elvis's coffin by signing him to do two shows every day and night in Vegas. He knew Elvis was using to keep going but all Parker cared about was the money to pay off his gambling debts. He didn t care at all sbout Elvis 's health or well being. I truly believe that if Parker would have talked to Elvis about his use of prescription medications that Elvis most likely would have listened to him because Elvis always wanted his approval. Elvis never even got a pat on the back from Parker. He was a con artist who took advantage of Elvis and he wasn't ever in the service so I don t know why he was called Col. Tom Parker. R.i.p. Elvis

Parker wouldn’t be able to come back to America if he went out of the country. Far as we know this was the truth and Elvis never knew why Parker would never get a tour in Europe. I think he would of been furious if he knew the truth. He stated in soooo many interviews he wanted to go to other countries. Elvis said he couldn’t go due to Parker’s back. Parker was so lying to this man. Never heard of a manager limiting a entertainer unless of course you are hiding something. Elvis was not stupid and I am sure he knew something wasn’t right. People sometimes think a person is stupid from the south. But who is not the intelligent one to really think that a person from one location is more intelligent than another. They take advantage of our good nature and manners that we are taught to always have in any situation. RIP Elvis
