It's sad that out of TV shows, movies and concerts, Elvis said he enjoyed concerts the most and after his concert in Hawaii in May, he wouldn't return to the stage until 1969.
He also said touring was hard work, whereas movies involved 6 weeks shooting and 3 months vacation and paid more. He was a guy who spent money as fast as he earned it, so chose to go with the easy money. We'd all do the same, there's things I could do for work that I like, but do something else because it pays nearly twice as much, so to maintain my lifestyle I need to do work I'd sooner not be doing. Or I could give up move to a smaller house, catch a bus to work and be happy. We all have choices in Life
He was asked about Anita Wood, he tried to downplay their relationship, he was told by TP to cool the relationship, the same with June JUANICO, before Anita Wood. TP was forever controlling ELVIS'S serious relationships from day one. For his career and image TP required ELVIS to remain unattached, no serious relationships. ELVIS had it tuff all around, his life was never his own. ELVIS did everything he could possibly do to please everyone, and take care of everyone, but never had the time for himself. He unknowingly, was sacrificing his life to please everyone else. He wanted to bless everyone, as he had been blessed, from rags to riches. ElVIS once said, May the LORD Bless You, as He has Blessed Me.✝️♾️❤️ 6-17-22
So authentic so wise beyond his age so gentle, respectful and poised …. To date no one has ever managed the press with such Grace. The multitude that loves the man is soothed just listening to his voice when speaking and when singing. So so miss him …. He left a HUGE void when he needed to disappear. Regardless…. The Truth cannot be buried….
I will never ever understand why these 2 concerts and the one in Hawaii one month later were never filmed. The man was at the absolute zenith of his powers and popularity and these were the only 3 concerts he did in over 10 years.
Probably a combination of reasons. In those days people weren't always filming everything. Camera's weren't as portable and there had to be a budget for official filming. Colonel Parker might have put a spot to the attempts, possibly. And it was a lot more difficult than nowadays to sneak in a personal camera, which would have required to bring rolls of 8mm film, a light meter and a sound recorder. A lot to carry for someone trying to film a performance unnoticed. But I agree with you. Too bad.
They were still making money selling them on VHS then. I guess that they thought if they filmed it and had it on tv that the VHS would stop selling. Nowadays they are selling it on DVD 's on the internet. I wish it were in stores. Parker is a sorry manager. He showed have been there beside of Elvis since he suggested that Elvis call this conference. Elvis does great on his own. He is very smart, humble and polite. Gotta love him.
@gorseway305 heck, they didn't even film Elvis' return to Vegas in '69. Can you believe that. Any non braindead manager would have filmed every show from every angle. Any return by a superstar is historic and needs to be filmed so I can't believe it wasn't.

At this time, elvis should have fired colonel and found a new manager. He had enough clout. He could have made better movies and toured throughout the 60s and went overseas
I always thought the same. He should have fired him right after he came from the army. Professionally, he outgrew the colonel. He needed someone like Brian Epstein to manage his career in this stage of his life.
All he needed was good management.....This guy could have accomplished so much more. Here he is really on top of his game...Shame he has a string of so so movies ahead of him...
He became the top selling artist of all time. I don't like the language of "he could have done so much more" when he did way beyond what anybody else did. Those movies gave us over 300 visuals of songs and videos to accompany them. If the movies sucked to you, so be it. But the musical visuals that came with them, 10 to 15 in each song, were great. Those visuals were amazing even by today's standards, the synchronization, the vocals, etc.
