- PROJECT SAMSQUANCH - A Geo Tracker with a parachute, will NEVER get old to us! This is one of those cars thats just so out there, that we had to laugh before finding out more! This Twin Turbo, 454 Small Block Chevy, powered Cube on wheels, or better known as “Project Samsquanch”, was one of the most attention commanding vehicles on Hot Rod Drag Week 2017! Unfortunately it was also one of the most problematic on the road, providing the drivers with plenty of headaches and little sleep. This little Geo Tracker has so much potential left in it, we love that it made it through drag week and we are really excited to see what it’s really capable of next time we run into it!

I'm not a big fan of drag racing, but that's a really sweet project. I love it!
It's really cool on the track and useful outside racing. I love the mix between a practical daily ride and a fun racing car.
Instead of being pampered & trailered in, they actually tow their trailer with this monster build! Great down to earth guys with real die hard enthusiam regardless of mechanical issues.
That is how all the cars do it on Drag Week, it's a grueling week long event.

I just bought a 1996 Geo Tracker 2WD manual transmission wildfire red. 87k miles and most of them pulled behind a motor home. It’s a Texas rust free car. It has some very nice black fiberglass hard tops with nice charcoal liner on the interior side. I’ve put 3 tanks of gas in it and it’s getting 32 to 34 mpg. It has 1.6L 16 valve Hemi 😮

Awesome trkr, I have a 95 trkr myself and will be dropping a Rotary engine in it... I like to know what front and rear brake conversion you used and if you have a how to guide and parts needed for the set up would be great. Thanks.
I wish one of the questions people would ask along with the motor and trans and tires used and stuff... was oil used! I wish we knew what all these different guys used in their cars... 0w-50, ect...

I always had a chub for trackers ever since they came out, at least that generation. I did eventually get one.

Actually , Suzuki Samurai is a decent off road car.
Decent? Shorth wheelbase, only 1000kg, low range 4x4 and the doors come off in 5 minutes, along with the soft top

In the uk these are readily available but they are called suzuki jimneys and are comminly known as hair dressers cars they came with a 1.6-2ltr engine and are widley sought after for the offroad scene nice to see one that nice as here in the uk they rot really easily due to the fucking shit weather iver here good luck guys hope you do well

wow...what an adventure! these guys are great...they didn't let anything stand in their way, not even a lack of mechanical ability...you watch the nelson racing engines videos and those things never break and put down pointless HP but this thing is a gas, real home brewed excitement for the real danger factor...there's something maddening about a rich kid buying a race car and winning everything and this is the opposite

Very cool.... I wonder how much improvement some proper aerodynamic body parts could make? Front splitter, proper spoiler , side skirts, diffuser, etc...
When I was a kid I thought GEO Trackers & Honda CRX's were dorky AF.... Now years later I like em both, a CRX with some power mods felt more fun to drive than a stock Corvette of the same era......I'd like a 4x4 Geo Tracker with some moderate power mods for a still low mpg 4 season commuter.

I bet they had a 55 gallon fuel cell in the trailer. That had a hose routed to the tracker so they could go the extra distance without stopping for fuel.
