How Sanusi Lamido became the Emir of Kano and How he was Dethroned

He made a career in the commercial banking sector spanning several years. He was later appointed by President Umaru Musa Yaradua as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. When he left the Central Bank, he was installed by the kingmakers in Kano as the Emir of Kano. As Emir, he wielded great influence in his kingdom and beyond. He was expected to occupy the throne till death, in line with the tradition of his people. His name - His Highness Muhammad Sanusi de II (most popularly known as Sanusi Lamido Sanusi). Emir Sanusi II is outspoken and has always criticized the Governments and the elites. - reason he became a thorn in their flesh.
He was brilliant, disciplined and honest during his time as the CBN Governor.
His outspokenness, public
criticism and ability to speak truth to power caused him his Suspension as the CBN Governor, and his
dethronement as the Emir of Kano. - which was largely a political move, by Governor Ganduje.
Nevertheless, he remains a selfless, a diligent and patriotic icon and an inspiration to many Nigerians.

Thee more I read of him, the more I like him. I first heard of him ad Central Bank Governor.The changes he made in Central Bank caught my admiration. His stance for truth is the prize he has paid for most of his life. I will continue to pray that God grant him wisdom, mercy, blessings and strength.He is one of the unsung Nigerians we know little of. Sanusi made his problem with the Kano state Government too personal which was a mistake. He was directly insulting Ganduje in public gatherings.
