- Info:
Another good one from MMI, this was actually the first song I heard by them, and helped me realise that there were other good metalcore bands besides The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying. Something about Miss May I and their ability to consistently write riffs that are just full of groove. Love it. I missed out a small chugging part at 2:38 but I didn't notice until I was editing so just left it out. Also the riff at 1:35 is a bit sloppy, but just cant be bothered doing like 3 takes to make it perfect.
Techniques/Tips:
- Hardest riffs are 0:36 and 1:33.
- As with all MMI songs, have a really loose hand and tight playing, especially at 0:36.
- With 1:33, I think its supposed to played legato style with lots of hammer ons and pull off's, but not too sure.
- The tremolo picking at 3:25 turns into half speed at 3:40 when the harmony comes in.
Gear:
Guitar: Schecter Solo-6 (Black Cherry)
- Neck pickup: Stock Active Pickup
- Bridge pickup: Stock Active Pickup
Strings: GHS Boomers 12-52
Tuning: Drop C (CGCFAD)
Effects: POD X3
- All patch's: 2001 Diamond Plate
Video: Canon Legria HFR16
Audio Editing: Audacity
Video Editing: Sony Vegas Pro 9
Tabs:
I cant remember which guitar pro version I used off ultimate-guitar.com but I think it was version 2. The whole tab seemed pretty correct, except the tapping part was tabbed as sweeping.
Miss May I fans are still talking about this cover. Regardless what what anyone says. This song has a real feel to it. Ending of this song is great. Metalcore is Life. Shred on guitar players and musicians alike. Cheers to all metal fans. Brotherhood.
wish you could join my band. T.T nice cover btw.
I love the shredding riff at the end
Well Done!!!
I like how you added the harmony. Good cover dude!
I love that you add the clip of the harmonies that's awesome. Great cover man.
Impressed!
Nice job!
@NoChanceSurvival for the intro?? 0 5h 8h right at the start is all hammered, then everything else is picked up till the part that goes 5 8h 5p 8 7p 5p.
What frets do you tap and what frets are hammer-on'd ? just 3 notes will be enough, the rest i'll figure out.
Great covers dude, i really like it. ;3
@Shortyman159 I am strumming the E inbetween, why would I make such big picking movements...
@Dilpil01 Pardon me, for the "solo" lick. Thanks again, sorry for that misunderstanding.
Mind posting tutorial? I'm having trouble on the alt picking on that starts on 0:35 =P
Love that alternate picking technique!!!! Beast cover man! Keep up the good work!
great cover, dude! i made the same one!
I NOW WANT SONY VEGAS . _ .
kickaaaaaaaaaaaaaassss!!!!!!!!
Not hating bro, but you aren't doing the WHOLE thing. On the intro, you are not strumming the base E string in between the second little mini riff when you move to the D string. Just seems kinda lazy, but this still sounds epic.
Great man!! Congrats!!
BRILLIANT!!!
Tu déchire !!
