This is an awesome cover I’m trying to get that main riff down and it’s kicking my ass. The way I am trying to do it according to the tabs is something like E-0-0--000-0-000 A-5-0-7---5-7--7 But seems what I’m seeing looks like are hitting the open E not as often wondering if the tab I have might be wrong?
He's playing it while not plugged in he's faking it there was a pinch harmonic on faith fret 2nd string and he played a 1on first string so watch a diffrent on
trying to learn the song as well and it seems that hitting the open e string that much causes way too much overlay whilst hitting the notes on frets 5, 7, and 8, listening to the tab while it's rolling on songsterr it sounds accurate according to the recording of the song on spotify
You can do either or to be completely honest and it'll still sound correct. Most people won't notice the difference either so just do the one that feels comfortable for you.
Thanks for the reply man. Ive been running into a road block with alot of mmi and tdwp songs because they do a ton of this super fast palm mutes between notes. I didnt know to attack the picking bc doing all downs just wasnt fast enough for me. How did you go about learning to alt pick that fast?
Yeah these riffs aren't fun ha! I think for me these kind of riffs really need to be practiced at slower speeds then work your way up to a speed you are comfortable with. Learn where your picking hand is going to be travelling at specific times. I suppose the technical term for the picking i use would be economy as it isn't strictly up down up down, on certain notes I will simply just follow through from one string to the other in a sweeping kind of motion then continue alternate picking. Please do forgive me though it has been a long long time since i've played this riff in particular.
Best part of this cover is you can tell how much fun you're having while playing it too. MMI has some absolutely killer tracks. Sick job man.
Definitely my favorite song by MMI and also a lot of fun to play!! Great cover
That spider riff and slide down the Low E going down in the chorus.... metal as fuck \m/

Very clean cover dude. Nailed tone as well with those blackouts. If I’m correct BJ and Justin used blackouts to record their guitars tracks 👍
Awesome cover! Cool guitar as well!!
Tahiti Bob rocking out.

You should cover Day By Day by MMI
Is this song in Drop B tuning: B F# B E G# C# or is it in Drop C tuning: C G C F A D
Just wondering 💭
Drop C
Just wondering how your picking the riff at like 8 seconds? Are you doing alternate on the e and the a string? (Down up down up)
Yep, alternate picking was the best way I could find to play that riff. It's pretty difficult any other way.
