Stewey wont let the race be slow, he never has and Jakob will go with him. All down to how much energy Jakob needs to expend to win, while still having the legs for his double attempt in the 5K. It's a bummer Stewey is still recovering from COVID, but it is good to see him back up around 3:35. Will be interesting to see whether its Kipsang or Cheruiyot that manages to hold on at the end.

You can hate on Kerr and say he’s being too cocky, but he’s simply not afraid to race anyone. Most everyone in the 1500 seems to have this ultimate respect for Jakob and because of that Jakob gets his way in a lot of races. This was like some of those 5000 and 10,000m races farah won at the Olympics and world champs. I think this is really good for the sport, 2 of the most fit 1500 guys in the world talking their talk and we all know that no matter what, they’re gonna put on a show

Jakob is probably trying to get everyone’s guard down mentally, and make them think they are running slower in the final than they realistically will have to to medal. So that way it’s a surprise to the field when Jakob inserts a 3:28-3:27 pace and strings out the field, but that’s just my take on it.

What Jakob said doesn't imply it will be tactically slow. It could mean that enough people will be fit enough to be in it with 100 to go even if it's fast.

Well, there is a person even more confident than Josh Kerr - namely Jakob Ingebrigtsen. The race will be fast, and Jakob will win it by more than 0.5 s. Jakob won't allow a slow pace, and if necessary he will lead it. There will be a surge for a podium position from behind, but Jakob will be long gone.
