Rhinox is the one that REALLY got sidelined. And the fact that THE David Sobolov has the voice credit for that character by simply grunting and panting just hurts even more.
Rotb Cheetor was wildly different from his OG BW version yet somehow still feels like the same character. Like the matured version that didn’t experience Beast Machines from another timeline.
A shame we were never able to see Cheetor leadership after Beast Machines, it would have been amazing to see him as full and growth leader, even becoming a matrix bearer
Out of all the Bumblebee-esque characters introduced, Cheetor has always been my favorite. I always did love how cheeky he would get with not only the Predacons but to his fellow Maximals too. And his feline nature was just the icing on top(especially since I have a few cats of my own👀). His 90s lingo may be dated but I love it sm, he's trying so hard to be hip and cool fr. I just wish they could've given him more lines with Tigatron, especially after hearing "Big Cat, Little Cat" line. I would've love to see more from those interact more. Overall, I just love this funky, transforming Cheetah. Never grew up with Beast Wars but it's awesome they're getting the spotlight in mainstream media. Just wished they could've given them more time to shine in RoTB😅.
That was my issue with Age of Extinction. I want to see the bots! You can jam a human element in the plot but that is not what we are here for. We didn't get to see the dinobots until nearly 2 hours into the run time and then the maximals straight up disappear after the first ten minutes. They assembled such a stellar cast for the maximals and we barely got to know them. P.S. Absolutely love cheetor! Beast wars really nailed it with an outstanding cast of characters.
Cheetor was definitely a spiritual successor to Bumble Bee abd a great character to show growth!( Surprised these 2 never teamed up!) Love his voice actor, Ian Corlett, as he was Ocean Dubs 1st Goku, Mega Man and Dr. Tofu from Ranma! Just a swell actor and character himself!😂
I really love all the beast modes from Beast Machines, but Cheetor's is my favorite. In fact, it's my all time favorite alt-mode in all of Transformers. The ROTB Cheetor's beast mode reminded me a lot of it.

Cheetor was the first transformers toy I ever had (Telemocha Series, Beast Wars in 2007). I always had a fondness for cats, and I like his beast form in Rise of the Beasts.

If only Cheetor and Rhinox got more screen time and lines to speak in ROTB. Rhinox didn't even get a line. They even filmed a scene with him talking but they cut it out. Very sad.
Definitely can hear Mega Man in the BW Cheetor. I suspect we'll see at least one transmetal version of Cheetor before Legacy ends. Hasbro really missed the trick having Cheetor and Ravage as rivals in Kingdom. They have them in the same space but one catfight isn't enough.

Daaamn...Cyberverse got pretty dark pretty often, didn't it!? 😮😮😮 Great, now I gotta hunt down one of the Cyberverse Cheetor figures - those actually showed up on shelves, unlike several others, but *NEVER* stuck around for very long!! Then again, there's a couple other Cheetor figures I need to get (like MP34 or the KO).
Cheetor is one of my favorite Maximals in beast wars I thought he would be mute just like bumblebee because when the first trailer came out he didn’t speak. I thought scourge ripped cheetor’s voice box out just like Megatron ripping out bumblebee’s in transformers prime.
One of my favorite Cheetor moments was in Feral Scream Part 2 when Optimus said "If I can just reach his spark." Cheetor snapped at Optimus & just then I said "easier said than done" not knowing Silverbot was going to say it & when he did I was all "OK I did not know Silverbolt was going to say that." Also in beast machines what episode is it when Rat Trap asks "Are you sure about this?" & Cheetor replies with "As sure as I am transformed." because I forget what episode that is
@@gabrielchee8470 The head sculpt and much of his robot mode is the same, not to mention he's on the beast planet with Saidos (Rhino-dos in Japanese) and another bot with BW Silverbolt's head, so it's pretty obvious their planet's meant as a BW homage. If you can't tell, maybe you need to rewatch it. I also happen to own the toy and the mechanics are even more similar in-hand.

Ian James Corlett is hard to get a hold of, I`d like to interview him. Great retrospective, well researched as always. I do like the TM2 model and characterisation better, the teenager type was fun to watch. I`m hoping a TM2 update will happen soon.
He is a cool cat with sunglasses who likes to eat cheesy flavored snacks, one wonders how he gets enough to eat consedering that a cat is carnivore, but he seems to enjoy it, and whats more, he can talk and walk around like a person, so perhaps its a mutation. Appearing first in 1986 and changing over time, the mascot has been part of advertisements and one knows what they are getting when they buy the snack. Two video games made off this one guy! A tv show was planed but never happened and - wait what? ... Oh OHHHHHHH Cheetor... not Chester Cheetah... nevermind then.
You know, I can imagine a world where cheetor’s impulsiveness gets to the point Primal gets fed up and snaps at him, only for the young maximal to lash back at him, weakening the maximals at their lowest point…… Just a thought…..

I got to say I love chetours design in Beast Machines. the only thing that I would change are the legs. I think they're absurdly too long and I would make them a little shorter and thicker. His design from the waist up 10/10. But from the waist down not so great lol

Great video! Would love to keep up the beast hype with Scorponok? After the movie, the beast wars comic, and Kingdom there's a lot of stuff I'd love to see covered in a retrospective.
Ian James Corlett is hard to get a hold of, I`d like to interview him. Great retrospective, well researched as always. I do like the TM2 model and characterisation better, the teenager type was fun to watch. I`m hoping a TM2 update will happen soon.

He is a cool cat with sunglasses who likes to eat cheesy flavored snacks, one wonders how he gets enough to eat consedering that a cat is carnivore, but he seems to enjoy it, and whats more, he can talk and walk around like a person, so perhaps its a mutation. Appearing first in 1986 and changing over time, the mascot has been part of advertisements and one knows what they are getting when they buy the snack. Two video games made off this one guy! A tv show was planed but never happened and - wait what?

Despite of how much I loved the film, it was such a wasted opportunity in the 'Rise of the Beasts'.
Although I prefer G1 Bumblebee, G1 Hot Rod & Armada Hot Shot, my favorite version of Cheetor is Beast wars.

You know, I can imagine a world where cheetor’s impulsiveness gets to the point Primal gets fed up and snaps at him, only for the young maximal to lash back at him, weakening the maximals at their lowest point……

@@RodimusPrimal By the way, my parents were on the broker side, financially. But Christmas 96 I got a Rhinox action figure. It was alright, but he should've been a deluxe toy. The figure didn't do him justice.

I got to say I love chetours design in Beast Machines. the only thing that I would change are the legs. I think they're absurdly too long and I would make them a little shorter and thicker. His design from the waist up 10/10. But from the waist down not so great lol
Those legs were definitely weird.
