    The trick with the god particle is not to put it after a mix but to mix into it till the begenning
    i swear you'll improve ur mixes

      i also do this, because the of the metering hi-mid-low...i always mix into this plugin, make sure the input level is right, set it to 108-110%, set the limiter to 0 and output to -3 or so...then my mastering chain follows....but i also like Masterplan!

      @@Wendel_Kos what's the input level you target? Is it an average RMS or is it based around peaks? Whichever one, what number do you target? I've been struggling to find the right # since the meters still hit the green over a broad range

    I think God particle combined with Master plan is the sauce on MixBus but an alternate to master plan is the amazing Michelangelo by Tone projects

    Master Plan taught me a very valuable lesson: don't judge by the cover.(Or actually do judge- all the other tools trying to look nice and fancy, these guys care about sound) and MP is amazing! They're right in saying to get rid of your other limiters. I make electronic/dance, and God Particle just doesn't work in it; if it did, Master Plan might beat it there too. It's incredible. I compared it to Smart Limit, BX True Peak, and God Particle and was just amazed. All the tools it has are just as great as the limiter. I couldn't be happier. Finally an amazing limiter in the box. The people/person who made it are just absolute geniuses.

    Weird comparison, these things are for different usages so you can’t expect the best result in this situation. With God particle you are supposed to start the mix session with it, Bus processor technically should go before God particle if needed.. and Masterplan should be after God Particle later in the mastering session. In short the 3 can be applied one after the other (if you turn off the limiter in God Particle)

    • @AlwaysTehFool

      I'm new to mixing and mastering could you not just mix into the master plan same as you would the god particle? And would you mind explaining why you would or wouldn't?

    • @carlosp.1846
      @carlosp.1846 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@AlwaysTehFool well , you can do anything you want in audio if it’s sounds good for you, you can even put a drum plugin on a synth, but you must expect the best results for what they are created in first intention, because you paid for that result. I don’t know the details about Masterplan but according to the name it is supposed to be for the mastering stage, nothing stops you to try it in the God Particle way, same for Bus Processor you can put it straight from the beginning, these are personal choices , not rules.

    Big fan of Master Plan. Best limiter and saturation out of the 3. All good plugins though

  • @sebsteeno6347

    Hey Matty, thanks for the comparison. Some notes tough. The tone shift in the sidechain circuit isn't for compressing the lows or mids more or less. It's controlling the sensitivity of the sidechain circuit to the low or high frequencies. Kinda like the Trust circuit in an API 2500, but it's fully variable in the Bus Processor. The lows and highs are still compressed, but the compression is triggererd more or less by the high or low freqs depending on the position of the tone shift knob. The knob doesn't turn the Bus Processor into a multiband compressor all of a sudden :) Knowing this, the Tone Shift function in the sidechain section is not comparable to the Tone Shift knob in the saturation section as stated on 12:28. It seems like a minor difference, but it isn't. It's a core difference in understanding the different component of all compressors. There is a lot of misinformation out there, so I just want to make sure that your channel stays on the right track. Thanks.

      Disagree. The EQ sounds digital in a not-good way imo. I’d never use that EQ on a full mix. I’d go with an analog emulation like a Kush plugin, the new Michelagelo or Acustica Magenta which is Manley tube EQ.

      @ramspencer5492 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Master Plan is a great plugin... You doing have to use the EQ... It's not trying to get saturation from the EQ... It has other settings for that. It's intentionally transparent

    The High square in The God Particle m/b section is for that Trap Hi-hat thingy I believe. If your non trap mix hit it, it's too bright.

    Thanks Marty for all you do for the recording community. Nice song and mix. I do like nice looking plugins also but at the end of the day Master Plan does what it supposed to do and that’s make everything sound good. Looks are deceiving in this case. I agree with one of the commenters I own smart limiter, ozone, and bx master desk and I find myself reaching for master plan for the most part. But at the end of the day everybody has to do what sounds the best to them.

    I enjoyed this, but I wanted to add that Bus Processor wasn’t meant to be a mastering black box, unlike the others. It was designed more for busses and channels. It’s very nice, but not the same thing. Also that song is aids for my ears.
