Yeah, love the MasterPlan Magic. My thinking process with all this: If I know the mastering people on a personal level (I don't) , have worked with them and if they knew what kind of stuff I would throw at them on a regular basis, I'm sure they would be able to really, really fine-tune a track, but just sending a song / album to a master house, adding one or two sentences with what matters most to me....well, still doing that, but as I learn more (thank you for making this a great tutorial of MasterPlan ;) I will go the alternative route exclusively - soon.
Master B sounds better but has some slight harsh, metallic sound, it's probably Master Plan. That's what I don't like about it, Exonic Ai Master is similar, sounds fantastic but there is some metallic sound that it introduces that I hate. Slate FG-X 2 still rules the roost IMO, followed by Ozone.
A is more focused and more punch. B more exciting and modern sounding mostly because you brought up the sides. Sides are easy to bring up, so would be interesting to compare them with the same width.
I preferred A, barely and likely just a matter of taste. I liked the thickness of the low mids in A but I think they were a little too much - yet are a little too thin in B. Using Master Plan and keeping your low eq and/or bumping thickness would probably make me pretty happy there. I also felt B had a little sharper transient attack - something I’d probably use the tape feature on but slider mostly to the left (tight). I own Master Plan and use it often, it is a great tool! Both masters sounded great, and the song itself is good stuff too! Well done bro
I'm so jealous of your high vocal harmonies BD. Thanks for the MP demo. Do you ever go on podcasts? It would be interesting to hear an interview. Please keep the videos coming
haha, thanks man! I've done some podcasts in the past... I actually ran a podcast that I did over 110 episodes of called "the Radium podcast", you can check that out!
I preferred A , nicer lows/mids, B sounded a bit lacking in lows/mids and a bit bright , could be a matter of taste in music though , i love dark stuff lol , but both sounded great, and for some one mastering there own tracks at home then something like Master plan is a great option.
A is paid master when you play Verse section is very clean ... But In chorus for me hard to understand.... Thank you for your videos bro ...... I have reqst can you make a video how to master a song meaning the metering things lufs and the number things is very confusing for me .... When I upload my master audio on any social media it' ll distorted and became very dynamic less.... Can you help me
Yea, I'm pretty careful with that 2k-4k area... But I also like that area for clarity in a mix. I don't know if you know who Bob Horn is, but most his mixes have that clarity in the 2k area. It's all preference.
"So what can you learn from this...." That some day in the near future we'll all be ok with having sex with robots... Thank you for the video Bradley. Great comparison, great video as always. PS- this will sound absurd, but.... on mix B, monitored on a phone held sideways, the horn and flute flourishes in the track extended to give a binaural effect.....it was literally extended placement hard L/R and slightly behind.... it was very very cool...
@@RadiumRecordsHollywood Great question. I thought the low end was a little too bumpy on the other version, and that B was a tad more balanced and smooth in the highs, although I would have dialed back that mid band .5db. Overall though I preferred the overall balance, lows, and high end of B (again, I'd dial back that mid band a tad though).
You should have spent time trying to match or best the $300 job, instead of winging it out on master plan, because your ears obviously prefer a fatter duller sound. That may be the fault of your monitors, or really what your ears prefer.
After watching and now pausing I chose master B as the analog high end Grammy award winning master and…I was wrong. Now I gotta hear this in the studio and I’ll update my findings but on my tv B was just a bigger sounding record. Great job and thank god I’ve got master plan 1.5 😮💨🫡

I preferred B. They both sound great and I'd be happy with either. It's insane what some of these new plugins are capable of.
Dude - the MasterPlan sounds better to my ears, and I mean WAY better. Clearer, tighter - much more impact.
Absolutely INSANE that it even compares imo…
@@RadiumRecordsHollywood Oh - it more than compares. This is a pro piece of kit IMHO.
@@dutnakke Real talk. Highly impressive no doubt
Master A sounded more warm (analog) Master B sounded more open and less low end ( you did that ) LOL

Yea, I mean… to be fair, I’ve been mastering for a while now (not multi-Grammy winning) but yea. Z
Master A. No pumping, no distortion.
First thing....that song is hooky af 👏👏 But ya....B Masterplan. What a time to be a musician!
Yo! Appreciate that fully, song dropping in a couple weeks here!

Let’s go!! 🦇
Such a groovy track ha, nice work on this master. Master Plan is a phenomenal plugin.
Thank you fam! Yes, it’s been a great tool for sure 💯
I love this plugin since I first used It 🧡
So solid

yea A as more cleam mids i can ear more stuff in A.

Love this review it actually convinced me to buy the plug-in
Master B sounds much cleaner to me. I can feel the separation between the elements.
Sounds the best to me.
Just wowwww!!!
I have a really hard time hearing the tiny, tiny, differences. What is the best way to train that?
I preferred A , nicer lows/mids, B sounded a bit lacking in lows/mids and a bit bright , could be a matter of taste in music though , i love dark stuff lol , but both sounded great, and for some one mastering there own tracks at home then something like Master plan is a great option.
It's definitely a matter of preference in a lot of cases... 100
B is definitely my vibe!😍
Same fam! Other one is just too boomy and congested for me
@@RadiumRecordsHollywood Agreed !😌
Master A. It's Just more natural to my Ears the Analog
What if I told you Master A is fully digital?
Master A sounds more professionally mastered, clean, balanced, and really radio ready! 🔥💯
That’s the one that out on all platforms!

I liked Master B best! Thank you for this review. ✨
Master B sounds a bit sharper to me. I would not really care though, as the both sound good.
I have to agree with you here, they both sound dope. Very hard for me to pick the one I want to upload to distro
A,, better balance overall ,,
I might be alone on this, but I preferred A.
I personally think b sounds a bit over saturated but I’m sure that is to your taste. The engineer’s sounded a bit more spread out and clean imo.
Master B sounded wider and I'm not too sure the song called for that. I choose A now I unpause
So cool
Wow! MP 1.5
KILLER update 🔥🔥
A sounds better especially in the chorus. It doesnt sound as tinny in the 2-4k range especially noticeably if u listen on phone

Just don't you DARE call me on a 3-way line...
master B's low end/low mid are clearer and tighter. I prefer B. God damn..
Craaaazy huh?
Master B sounds more together and full. I’m voting for master B
2:08 that sounds kaputt to me
A sounds good on mobile phone
B=a bit louder and fuller sounding to my ears.
That’s what’s up
nice music
I like b bc it’s big and still airy
Yea!!
B,. Everything pops more
Crazy huh??
Master B is more defined to me!
Master A is better to my ears. It's less harsh, fuller and more natural sounding.
i like master B better, Master A sounds a little bit Dark and blanketed
master B i like
A sounds not open. B HAS CLARITY AND MORE WIDER
A is better. tamed and controlled vibes for me. on B there is obvious harshness.
I prefer B😮😮. The engineer used Master Plan too😂😂😂
lmao... Nah, he has like $500k in analog outboard!

Do we have to call it master b? Let’s say master 1 and 2. Stop saying master b.
