Very true, I'ma spoiled on the 🇧🇸 no disrespect to the Jamaicans. Live conch is the real way to go for conch salad, if properly handled when it's fresh, it can be vacuum sealed Frozen and still works really good for conch salad. However, we were taught never to let freshwater touch it, must you sea water only when you clean it. The styles look good but I'm a fan of the traditional, and you must squeeze some fresh orange as well 🤙🏼

You probably had it from someone who doesn't prepare it...but other places in the Bahamas prepare their conch salad the same way like he did in this video...by the way I feel our jerk is better...I have had jerk whe I visited JA---talk about DISAPPOINTED!! everyone does their food differently, not because you had it one place means that 's how majority does it...most of the time we prepare our food simple for tourists and for health reasons, but back in the day loaded with spices
The Bahamas is surrounded by water...we don't need to use frozen conch for our salads or cracked conch...we may use frozen conch for fritters or steam conch...NOT totally different from Bahamian conch salad what he did was Tropical conch salad that we do in Bahamas too...jerk is a mixture of spices from India and China two cultures that heavily influenced Jamaican cuisine...Please don't do it? Other Caribbean nations can shine without you feeling the need to say contrary things. Caribbean countries all "borrowed" from each other....no one country can claim full rights to a dish/food, or cooking technique...

When cooking, one should wear gloves. I will never eat from a kitchen if the cook doesn't wear gloves, no matter how good the food looks.
