It's amazing how much history cemeteries can hold. It's something worth preserving. One of the cemeteries in my town just got destroyed by vandals. They smashed over 200 gravestones. Most are in the historic part. Families that have died off.Including one of the original settlers of the town. It's sad and infuriating at the same time.
Anna's grave is beautiful. From Ancestry (Her death certificate) Anna was born October 28th 1902. Her husband name was Jacob. Her occupation was listed as school, don't know if she worked at the school or if she was a teacher. She died from Malignant Endocarditis / Viridans Streptococci Secondary cause of death was listed as: Cerebral Embolism

Old Father in October of 2011; my sister of 70 yrs. in February of 2021 ; and my dear husband of 70 yrs. in January of 2022. June would have been our 50th wedding anniversary. Thank you for the history you tell us, it is very interesting. My prayers are with you for safe travels, And the dear souls you tell us about.
Not to take from the tour but it always amazes me how huge Lake Michigan is, can’t see to the other side. My grt-grands settled there on Michigan side, I certainly see why. Irish too. Wonder if the shores reminded them of home.

If you get to the Denver area some time, I think you might be interested in the story of the Tabors. There are so many aspects to the story. Horace Tabor was the silver king in the later 1800's. He was eventually a senator. There is an excellent story about the Tabors on PBS's Colorado Experience. They were very famous in Colorado and there are many historical landmarks. My interest was sparked when I was young and saw Baby Doe Tabor's tombstone with her picture on it next to my grandfather's grave. The story has love, scandal, rags to riches back to rags and such. She is buried in Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery on the outskirts of Denver. .

When I was about 12 years old, a girl close to my age in our town was abducted by a "family friend", murdered with a screwdriver through the heart and stuffed into a tractor tire where she was found north of our city. So sad. The killer was apprehended, went to prison, served his time and released. Hard to think anyone like that would be released. There are also many unsolved murders in our area. Thought this could be a story you may be interested in.
Lake Erie is very dangerous as it’s a shallow lake and very murky I live 5min from Lake Erie and growing up we had a boat one min it’s calm and the next the waves were really big. It can turn on a dime!
Ron is it expensive to put a picture on a grave stone? I would like to know, I would like to put one on my great grandmother 's grave and my mom's. It let's people know, that there is a face to go with the name. They should not be forgotten. I go to Boston every year to put flowers on my great grandmother's grave. She's Irish too. 100%.

Graveyard in Troy Michigan named White Chapel has no statues. Only ground markers. Lee Iacocca and Dr Jack Kervorkian and my mom in law are laid to rest there ...large cemetery and they do not edge around the graves , makes them look unkempt ..sad

Absolutely amazing & gorgeous Yes & indigenous people (incl 1st nations) didn't bury their dead, they gave them to the wind...ashes scattered. Sorry I'm on catch up, haven't been well & spending 18-24 hrs sleeping, waking for around 4hrs only to sleep for the same time again, my body us trying to recover & mend from something....🤔sinus infections.
