I use Cacani with Windows 10. If you have issues, contact their support. They are generally really quick to respond. I had issues with mine ´cause my Mobile Studio 16 was not displaying the program properly. They helped me solve it.
Can't wait to see what Cacani has in store for us. From the first time I used Cacani i felt that it was innovative and could really change the game. But sadly I really did not see any significant update within the last couple of years. But I'm very hopeful for something new in 2019.
Krita is a wonderful drawing program I've been using it since highschool. The only downside is when you try to implement audio. The time is off and can sound choppy. But other than that it's great.
clip studio paint, is another good one. The Ex version with full animation capabilities is about $200, but it goes on sale for about $80 pretty frequently. Which is a steal considering it's comparable to photoshop in its drawing capabilities and even better in its animation.
kingjelly52 I’ve used CSP for years and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I had a free version but 6 months or so ago I bought the EX version on sale and it’s such a good investment. It works a lot better for me than photoshop!
is there anything what blender can't do? ;) - once U get above the first frustrating steps - U will see this program is capable of everything - game developing , 3D modeling, video editing, drawing, picture editing - the only thing it can not is brew coffee, but I am not really sure about this ;)
Crappie Panda Your computer probably isn't that old. I think you just gotta update your drivers if you have an nvidia or amd card. Or if your hardware is really that old, it doesn't take much money to buy a simple graphics card that's a little more up to date. I think blender just updates pretty often to catch up with more modern shader engines. Blender is pretty notorious for hogging alot of resources even on the high end computers. This is really only an issue when rendering a final scene though.
If blender gets an audio editing feature, it really could replace everything that any creator is already using. Of course, everything in blender needs an upgrade to be actually replacing everything like it would be nice if there are better brush engine and some sort of layer system in the image editor, easier and faster interface for video editing kinda like sony vegas, better game engine that isn't really restricting (blender's game engine is removed in 2.8 and there is addon game engine being developed called "armory", which is better than blender internal game engine) etc. But yeah point is that if there is audio editing, it's a whole package!
Tyrzi actually there is but only on linux... there is JACK protocol integrated in blender which with it you can route and sync blenders playback with JACK aware DAWs like ardour or qtrackter...etc and work with audio and 3D togather realtime. Couple that with jack aware video editor... now you can make 3D, mix audio and edit video realtime at the same time... in the end export all and have everything synced togather... there are videos on youtube if you would like to check it out.
actually the new 2.8 has new cool and updated UI and whole revamped system,the devs rebuild blender from the scratch and now it's more intuitive and production ready, i can't wait for beta in October ..the rest of features like game engine, VSE ...etc will come after official release it's too much task for a small team to handle but they'll deliver :)

I tried Krita but it's really laggy, I can't even draw a normal line without lag. It's weir because I also had Medibang and it doesn't have any problem (but can't animate there so...)
I had the same issue; I gave up with Krita because it was stressful to learn with the lag. I heard Firealpaca has an animation/onion skin feature though. This is just a thought so I'm not sure how helpful it'll be, but you could use the onion skinning in Firealpaca to create an image sequence, then import them into OpenToonz to turn it into an animation.

Moonfrost Sketches Opentoonz is the best 2D animation software around and 100% free as in FLOSS! It was built on the proprietary Toonz premium software that Futurama was animated on. It is professional grade in every way and thanks to Morevna and another developer if you use Papagayo-NG to create a DAT switch file you can easily create lipsync in Opentoonz. Barracios I think that is the TH-cam channel has a 2 videos about using Papagayo with Opentoonz for easy lip sync and an update for how to import the switch file in the latest version of Opentoonz because the add-on program they created was incorporated into Opentoonz and you can now directly import the DAT switch file from Papagayo using their built in importer mechanism on your mouth level. The program also imports audio files and more importantly it is easy to draw ten mouth shapes to execute lip sync. I used it with Papagayo-NG for the first time last night. I was running in Linux, but there is also a Windows version. It took me literally about 1 minute and 4 mouse clicks in Papagayo-NG the updated version from Morevna to lip sync a 6 second shot. It took another 1 minute to add it to Opentoonz with audio. Once you have a character rigged for a switch layer on the mouth, it’s paper cut out and or plastic tools bones and hooks rigged, you can animate that character’s actions throughout an entire scene in a few minutes. If you use sub-xsheets you can reuse character rigs easily in new animations and sets too. I honestly believe once I have created the characters for a show I’m developing a pilot for right now, using Papagayo-NG and Opentoonz I should be able to animate a 20-30 minute show of the simple sitcom variety with animation somewhere between a South Park and a Bojack Horseman in terms of sophistication in about 2 weeks by myself so long as I don’t add a lot of new sets and re-use certain set piece footage a la South Parks opening theme song and maybe a running joke with fake in world commercial breaks. The other great thing about Opentoonz is that there are hundreds of great tutorials on TH-cam from multiple animators who are kick ass animators and teachers that have allowed me to learn a ton of stuff in just a month of using it. I wouldn’t edit a sound track in it, but basic sync work is easy to do in Opentoonz as it works now and I’m running it on an 8 year old core i7 SandyBridge chip with 12 GB of RAM and a 1 GB AMD Radeon 6670 and I have had zero crashes either on my Hackintosh drive where I first used it, or on the Linux Mint build I just set up on one of my other internal drives just to prove I could write, animate, record audio, edit the video, sound mix, create caption files, and even output a DCP for theatrical release with these tools all in open source. I can output 4096 x 2160 DCI or 3840 x 2160 UHD from Opentoonz and I can edit those formats in Shotcut or Kdenlive and produce 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound final mixes in Ardour for any of these animations. I can also create captions files in Aegisub and output a DCP for the theater from DCP-O-Matic and have a 100% open source workflow for these animations.

XP (windows) is being heavily phased out... {in case that's what you mean} BUT... (and I know, it's scary) LinuxMint will help... Ezeelinux.com OR you can start with Joe Collins on TH-cam... (channel) to get a look at linux, and hear about how to navigate it first... along with some differences between that and windows. The TRUTH? It will probably take you a couple weeks to get used to linux OS, AND you can "set up a dual boot" for your computer... Basically your computer can split between linux (when you want to practice) and WindowsXP (when you're just going for emails and while you get stuff ready for "the big switch") I'm glad I left Windows at Win7... NEVER looking back, either. GNU open source is the future... For the record, there are lots of versions "distributions" or "distro's" of linux... SO its okay if you want to change after you "come to the dark side"... (lolz) BUT LinuxMint is one of the MOST user-friendly... AND it's ready "out of the box" to the greater extent... AND with Ezeelinux and Linux Mint Team, there's LOTS AND LOTS of support, articles, tutorials, helpful videos, hints, tips, tricks, and great advice along the way. It's actually a LOT simpler than windows, too... You will have trouble with Netflix, though... BUT it's likely to be temporary, because a LOT of people are ditching Windows for Linux... ;o)

Anime Effects won't work :( I downloaded it and clicked open but it said something like 'Open gl lower than 4.0'
I downloaded Krita. It kept crashing, and at times it wouldn't let me draw. I didn't get to try to animation part because of this.
