When you think about the fact that there is a Fullautomatic coffee machine in almost every household today, it's a shame how quickly technology is forgotten. It's a shame because these essential techniques are thrown away and forgotten at the recycling yards. I remember 20 years ago when we were in our 20's we poured kilos of coffee through normal brewing machines. Soon after, the Senseo's appeared in every household and now there are Fullautomatic DeLonghi, Jura and Siemens Machines on every kitchen worktop.
I hate those machines, they're so demanding. My mother-in-law has one, and whenever I'm there it's 15 minutes of obtuse touchscreen to make a cup of black coffee! And it's always moaning about something: sdd water, empty tray etc. I have a hand grinder and an ancient Russell Hobbs drip machine, and I wouldn't swap it!
@@brick6347 yes! I don't drink much coffee but keep a 20-year old Faberware electric percolator for when my mother comes to visit. Water, coffee, plug it in. When it stops making noise; coffee's ready.
In my house I have an eighty year old Peter Dienes hand cranked grinder and three sizes of Moka Pot, that's it, there shouldn't be a need for anything more
Доброго здравия..... Как всегда, великолепно проделана работа... Красивая кофемолка.... Когда Вероника прокручивала кофе, на мгновенье даже почувствовался его аромат.... Пойду тоже себе сварю кофе....
In Japan they traditionally believe everything has a spirit, from mountains to the smallest rock, or even your sandal, and the older something is, the more sentient it becomes. Taking good care of things prevents the spirits from turning bad, or even evil. In light of that: I'm sure the spirit of this mill is very happy to see its home so beautifully restored.
Another faultless restoration Radek. You have so much confidence in your work that Veronica is happy to demonstrate its use at the end of your video. Well done you two, it's been great to see you both again. Nick
Hello Radek, to see you restaurate this amazing piece of history is really a joy. I often told you I admire you very much, and this time it is no exception. I do not know if all your projects work out this well, but again you've done a wonderful job, my friend. Thank you very much for sharing. 👍👍👍
Fantastic job you did restoring the coffee grinder to working order. You even made a new wooden plaque to attach it to and you got it looking better too. Great work.
I remember seeing one of these my Grandparents ( my Dads Parents) use to use one. What I remember is asking them what that was and what did it do and why. I was most likely about 4. I grew up around Antiques as some times they were just everyday items. With my Dads Parrnts born in the late 1899 or 1900's and my Moms Mother was raised by her Grandparents as her mother passed away when my Grandmother was just 12 yr old. My Great Grandparents were born sometime in the 1800's so there again what we call Antiques today were just everyday items to them. Loved this Thank you again for sharing your passion ❤️ 💕
Beautiful coffee grinder and very well restored; as always. Why are objects like this no longer made? Thanks, Veronika and Radek, for rescuing these objects from oblivion and giving them a second life.
Ano Pavle, tyto krámské mlýnky se dají stále koupit, pár jsem jich i renovoval . Kdyby Vás něco napadlo co by jste chtěl zrenovovat, dejte vědět. Hlavně něco co jsme ještě na video netočili a bylo by to zajímavé. Rád to pro Vás udělám :) Hezký den Radek
My mother has a small box style coffee grinder that I loved using. She never used it she just liked having it but when I started college I learned I liked the fresh ground coffee so much more. It was finally able to serve it's function. This one you restored is so beautiful.
It's strange that lead-based paint was used to cover household items in those days. They were not aware of the risks. Greetings from Poland, neighbor :)
You have some serious skills, projects are nice and very detailled, once again a great piece of history saved... looking forward to your next restauration!
A true Masterpiece every detail taken into consideration it looks wonderful !! The white with the natural wood is amazing !! Keep up the excellent work !! 👍👍
This coffee grinder has been so well restored that I would go and have a cup of it at your place! 😉(. ale jsem od tebe trochu moc daleko )Thank you again for this beautiful work, we will see….. ještě jednou děkuji….😏👍🌺
Radek and Veronika, you have again put together a fine video with excellent workmanship and great bit of history at the end. I wondered why you had a drawer full of ceramic jars for the grinder torso, then when Veronika was speaking I noticed three more examples of this type of grinder on the wall! You surprise us in every video with beautiful solutions to problems along the way. Thank you very much, Ed
I look forward to watching what new treasure you have found and restore. Thank you!
We are pleased, thank you Juelda :)
I like it that you take the time to remove the manufacturing mold marks and imperfections. Look forward to more. Narragansett Bay

Just a note: Veronika did almost everything except the lathe work. You can tell who's doing what by the hands.
Thanks Nick, nice to see your comment here :) Radek and Veronica

When ever you have been sand blasting have you ever tried wet sand blasting ? Using a sand blasting lance that connects to the high pressure Gerni

I love that old enamelled cast iron--dense, thick, and heavy. Mmmm good.
Thank you :)
Lovely restaurated old grinder. I like it. Good job! 👍
I'm glad, thank you :)
Oh the coffee from when I was younger, during the 70’s coffee flakes in the bottom of your cup, strong you only needed 2 cups.
I love the way you took pieces from all over and combined them to make a complete unit. It looks lovely now it's complete again.
It's strange that lead-based paint was used to cover household items in those days. They were not aware of the risks. Greetings from Poland, neighbor :)
Yes, exactly, they had no idea that lead poses a risk just like asbestos, which was once used in body creams with rejuvenating effects.
I'm happy to see that you use the original type slot head screws instead of Phillips head screws. It makes a difference in restoring such items.👍🏻😀
Yes I agree . Thank you
Another great job. Every time I watch your videos I want to find something to restore.
To mě těší Davide :) Děkuji
