    Here's a tip that I personally found out: generally, I always take juggernauts > glass cannons. The reason I say this is because in Reborn, SPEED IS BS. Here's a situation: you're facing solaris, and out comes his garchomp. Thankfully, you have a froslass ready to outspeed and oneshot that dragon. The issue is that even if you have a base 110 speed stat froslass, you'd still get outsped by solaris' garchomp, which only has a base 102 speed state. Why? Because solaris' garchomp has 31 IVs and 252 EVs in speed, and your froslass most likely doesn't. That means your froslass eats a stone edge to the face and dies before making a move. So lets go back to that situation- lets replace that froslass with a lapras. There's no way in hell that your base 60 speed stat lapras is outspeeding that garchomp. However, that lapras can live that incoming stone edge, then fire back with an ice beam which would freeze that garchomp down. The point is that having harder hitting, tankier but slower pokemon is generally better than glass cannons, because oftentimes you'll get outspeeded anyway, or the enemy will live one hit and destroy you. Lets look at another example: mienshao vs throh. Both are fighting types that hit really hard, but I'd still choose to take throh over mienshao, because throh can live a hit, whereas mienshao cant. The same can be said with Elektross > Manectric, Chandelure > Mismagius, etc. UNLESS that is, you do have 31 IVs and 253 EVs in speed on your lycanroc. Then that's ok. But when you're say, stuck in the agate circus arc, ev training options are very limited :)

    • @ausstuff6733
      @ausstuff6733 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Also, the whole "extra EVs/IVs for Meteor admins" thing is something that I wish they went over in more detail and not some random near-hidden dialogue from Lumi late in ep.17. Imagine my surprise when a +1 ice beam from alolan Ninetales leaves Solaris' Mega Garchomp at 20%.

    Now that the game is finished you can actualy get a Bastiodon before the garchomp fight, Metal Burst coupled with study is so good, in fact Metal Burst, Mirror Coat and Counter are just flat out good moves to get rid of problematic pokemons you don't really have good answer for, which actualy makes Avalug kinda decent since it can get mirror coat and has sturdy. I personaly also used Focus Sash mirror coat vaniluxe a few times. Perish song and destiny bond can also come in clutch.

    i would say 2 more important tips-
    priority moves in this game are really important and pokemon with weather based abilities are downright broken like swift swim, slush rush and sand rush because you don't even need to setup weather most of the times, i used alolan sandslash against blake as hail was already in effect and it destroyed his team, using excadrill in desert with no setup of sand required was easy way to put exp share on garchomp and grind it

    Pickup is good in the late game, too. You can pick up Sacred Ash at level 90-100. Of course, there's other good items you can pick up like Blue Moon Ice Cream and Lucky Eggs, but the Sacred Ash is the perfect example of how useful it can be to keep a Pickup Pokemon around in the long run.

    Some more tips from yours truly:
    - Sometimes, Wonder Trade can yield pretty good results.
    One man's trash is another man's treasure. While this may not be the case with Pokemon you naturally find in reborn, Wonder Trade will be there to assist you. I mean, I actually got a Jangmo-o from Wonder Trade before taking on Serra (While it didn't really help there, it certainly did assist me later on my journey). But yeah, in general, Wonder Trade can be a wonderful thing (Just make sure the Pokemon you keep are within the Level Cap (Or just make sure you have some common candies)).
    - Join the forums and find someone to trade with.
    Honestly, I haven't really tried to find many people to trade with on the forums, but much like the main series games, traded Pokemon have a higher EXP Gain, making training for that one gym easier than imagined. Also, some people might be generous and give you some good Pokemon (No guarantees though).
    - Soft Resetting can be helpful with IV and Natures.
    Pokemon Reborn is difficult, so what do you do? Hunt for Pokemon with good IVs. Getting Pokemon with good IVs is essential, otherwise you might not make it out alive. You should settle on a Pokemon that has at least 4-6 IVs that are at 31. Unlike Pokemon Insurgence, there are NO IV Stones to max out a Pokemon's IVs. You'll just have to get lucky with what you want. Also, this mainly applies to static encounters, like Starters, PokeSnax Pokemon, etc.
    - Catch several Meowth with Pickup, level them up to Level 30, and then you can Money Farm.
    Honestly, due to Meowth's availability in Pokemon Reborn, it shouldn't be hard to catch a few with the ability Pickup and level them up until they learn Pay Day. While you use a Meowth to farm money in battle, the other ones can stand by and pick up items. This is probably one of the most efficient money farming methods I can think of, other than mining (Which isn't infinite, so...).
    - Don't worry about catching shinies.
    Just because a Pokemon sparkles when sent into battle doesn't mean you HAVE to catch it. In fact, the Shiny Odds have been increased by a LOT, and will grow even more once you obtain the Shiny Charm. Don't waste your Pokeballs on "valuable" color swaps, even if it may be tempting (Unless you are going for Unbreedable Pokemon, then I guess you can go for them).
    - Don't just mindlessly grind random Pokemon on the street.
    While this may be an only option you have, you'll end up getting random EVs on your Pokemon, and no one really wants that, now, do they? Make sure you properly EV Train your Pokemon, it'll come in handy. Trust me. You won't know how difficult the game can get within a couple gyms (I'm looking at you, Florinia, your Cradily can go die in a hole for all I care, but you yourself are actually still pretty cool. Just don't have me face that octuple tounged plant again and you're on my nice list). For example, you need Speed EVs? Rattata can be found in the Opal Ward literally OUTSIDE THE GRAND HALL. Need Attack EVs? Ekans can also be found there. Need Special Defense EVs? Burmy can be found by Headbutting Trees.
    - Breeding can be very essential.
    Of course, competitive players will use this in main games, but you'll also want to do this to get certain moves and abilities on some Pokemon. Also, if you have two 4 IV Pokemon, you can try to breed them together to get better Pokemon.
    - Patience will be your number 1 priority.
    Grinding is no fun, especially when you're impatient. Just understand that levels don't come straight at you, and you'll be fine. Trust me. It ain't easy earning things.

      Can you help me with the battle against ???? and ?????? in the glass factory? I read some tips from forum that aegislash and any mon with wide guard are one of the only easier options. I always use brute force to win my gym battles. Never once did i use seeds ,reviving items or field changing moves to win battles.
      Tbh, i dont mind having to train more than 6 mons but having to train specific mons for each gym/boss battle is really tiresome. I rage quit the game few days ago because of that stupid battle. They dont even heal you during that 3 in row battles. Having to train a level 80 at least mon from scratch at this stage of the game is ridiculous.
      P/s do you know any vid on yt explaining ep 18 because i dont think im gonna finish this game by myself

    • @plasmetal8225
      @plasmetal8225 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fixjustin2699 Oh, THAT part... yeah, I cheesed the hell out of that. Okay, so what I did was I grabbed a couple Pokemon with Pick-Up near the start of the game, and they can actually give you really useful items, like Ultra Potions (Quite literally as soon as you pick up a Pokemon with the ability, but it's somewhat rare), Full Restores (Near Level 20 is rare, Level 40 it becomes a little more common), Revives (Judging by the point you're at in the game, you should be able to use Pick Up and get some Revives quite easily), and even Sacred Ashes near Level 100! Then, just start fighting wild Pokemon. I'd recommend grabbing 6 and filling your party with them (Be sure they can fight well, though). You should get items within 1 or 6 battles. (10% Chance of getting items from Pickup). You're definitely going to have to use items in this, otherwise you won't last very long (I cheesed it with X Items).
      Another tip is to use the strongest Pokemon you have in your possession. While Reborn admittedly doesn't like to give you the stronger Pokemon until later, you can still work a way around that. I'd recommend finding out where some of the higher-performance Pokemon are. Some you may have to battle them, others are just given to you. You're definitely gonna need all the help you can get through these battles.
      Also, apparently your Pokemon are supposed to be healed after each of the three battles, but not revived. Also, I think that Lord Wallace will make a video explaining the events of the entire game once Episode 19 comes out. (There's also a wiki that has the events of the game up to Episode 18 as well as where they take place).
      But yeah, other than just getting good items, getting good Pokemon, EV and IV train, utilizing items you have in your bag, and preparing for the worst, that's all I really have. There are also some other comments talking about choosing tanky, but slow Pokemon over glass cannons, using priority moves, abusing trick room, etc. You just generally have to find something that works. Experiment, so to speak. Saving before going through the gauntlet and grabbing different Pokemon each time to see how well they hold up or how fast they crumble can help you decide the team you want to use to power them down.

    Am I three years too late? Yes. Will that stop me? Nope!
    An addendum to minor type overlaps - don't shy away from mons just because they have a quad weakness (or two...). It's been a while since I played Reborn, more of a Rejiv runner recently, but the sentiment stays; if it kills shit quickly and you have a general idea of the movesets your opponent's mons have, weaknesses don't play a large role. Also (this is more for people like me) mono type mons are good. Stab is nice, but so are less weaknesses (in some cases). Don't overlook a mon just because it doesn't have a secondary type. I _slept_ on Lycanroc and Raichu for far too long.

      thats actually the point of it though. Its not about the bonds and love of a single team, its about breaking that familiarity and comfort zone, you can't have a crutch team like in main series. You have to adapt and change and work with all kinds of pokemon, not just your favorites. Also the fact you can hate some characters and love others is a testament to good story telling/character development. If they make you angry/annoyed, that means the story is effective. You don't have to like something, you just have to feel something. Nothing is more monotonous as reading a story/playing through a game that doesn't give you any emotions.

      @@Psyche_Up its a bit nicer now then it used to be. Now you can stop your team from over-leveling, you had to have common candies by the truckloads before. If you over leveled, they would never listen to you. It's a bit easier to keep a single team now, but I think some gyms must've given you a headache. I can think of many teams that can handle all the gyms (unless you used the sandbox mod)
