"I don't like when a company treats me like I'm an idiot." That's exactly it! These brands will blatantly greenwash their products with the expectation that consumers won't do their research. The fact that you call these companies out in no uncertain terms is why I continue to watch your videos even though I know I won't buy like 90% of the things you review (that, and you understand the necessity of adding more blush).
Thank you for being you, Kackie! Many days when I feel awful the only thing that helps me to get through the day are your ramblings. (and I mean ramblings in the most loving way possible.) You're wonderful!
For Nabla, I do love their skin glazers as highlighters and blushes. I have the shades Ozone and Lola. I own one eyeshadow palette from them which is decent but not fantastic. Their glazes are where they are at.
Im currently wearing the nabla skin realist, also taking it on vacation with me because it looks just like skin and lasts all day, even with beads of sweat dripping down my face you can't tell it. I have the whole line of nabla stuff and I'm entirely obsessed lol Just shows how subjective makeup can be!
Love round ups of both favorites and fails, helps me make informed decisions! Will have to disagree on the Nabla Side by Side tho, I thought it was a spectacular palette 🥰 didn't have any issues with lasting time, might be a skin chemistry thing!
Halfway through the year and I feel like it’s barely begun… does anyone else feel like 2021 didn’t *really* start until they got vaccinated? I feel like I can enjoy things again! Thanks for saving us from more hot garbage products, Kackie!
I kid you not I gasped and clutched at my chest when you showed the Nabla palette, I love Nabla eyeshadows to the point where I don’t tend to bother with anyone’s reviews before ordering a new palette from them if what they’ve released is up my alley (that’s what I did with their new Analogue palette, watch me learn my lesson if it turns to be a dud) and they have never disappointed and I include Side by Side in that statement… except for the Poison Garden palette, we don’t talk about that one. However I always use the fenty eye primer simply because I have a lot of folds in my eyelids so no matter what formula I use it’s going to crease, it’s just physics; and I don’t know if anyone else who I know loves Nabla (Angelica nyqvist, Mia from Mia’s Virtual Vanity) uses them without primer either. However I think that if you don’t usually use one, you shouldn’t have to to make a 40€ palette work so…
Ugghhh Carrot... I didn't realize they rolled like that LOL I have not yet bought anything from them, but I was perusing a bit... Now I feel based on THAT, I will totally PASS.
I cracked up at your description of the scent in the Kjaer Weis lipstick - I hate when makeup (or skincare, for that matter) has unnecessary fragrance. Are there really people who want their cosmetics to smell??
Such a bummer about the new Roen liquid lip balms, but you definitely helped me save money. 😊 I love the old ones and haven’t rebought those shades. I wonder if the older shades have stayed the same.

I'm sooo excited for your upcoming review on the LE KW blush palettes. I'm also wondering if you've tried their cream eyeshadows? I just want to know if they have enough longevity to make them worth trying?
I thought I was doing something wrong in applying the Nabla palette, as everyone raved about it. No matter what I did it creased so easily and the dark colors were so patchy! It’s such a shame, because it really is a pretty palette.
What’s the difference between the terms “color story” and “color way”? I love the way language evolves and try to keep up with definitions. Are they synonyms or somewhat different?
I would say that a colour-way would be the distinction between options, say if there was a blouse or a palette that came in both a brown/bronze option and a orange/copper option those would be colour-ways; a colour story is the over-all feeling of a palette, like the fantasy it's selling you. These aren't by any means definitive, just my interpretation of the terms.
From the internet. Colorway - a color or arrangement of colors; any range of colors in which a style or design is available. Color Story: Is a palette of colors used together to make a cohesive fashion statement throughout a collection.
Kackie, by any chance did you try using the Ilia mist by spraying it on a beauty sponge and then pressing it into the skin? I’m wondering if application, rather than formula, could be the culprit with separating your makeup. I realize Ilia’s site says to spray it directly on the face, but it might be worth a try with the other method. Maybe that would apply less product and “melt” the makeup to the correct degree. Just a thought. Sometimes I find that when a product doesn’t seem to work for me, if I apply it in a different way, it ends up being my favorite. 🥰 Doesn’t always work, but usually worth a try!
I haven’t! At the end of the day, it’s not really my goal to “make” a product work - for me and the money I spent. It’s about, “is this fun and easy to use; would I recommend it?” And in this case, even if it would kind of work with a sponge, it still doesn’t pass the smell test for recommending it to others!
@@kackie : I totally understand. I was just curious if that was method you had tried. Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate it. ☺️ May you have a lovely day!
Milk (and Glossier) fans are the type to want refillable packaging expressly so they can put another brand’s product in it. I think that explains the weird component system in the Milk skin tint (and also the difficulty of getting another lotion into Glossier’s hand cream container). Then again, i think that refillable packaging is something people claim to want but rarely utilize.

Thank you for saving us from wasting money. I totally agree re: the scent of Ilia products. I have only purchased one product (loose powder) and I left it open to allow the fragrance to dissipate but it didn’t work. I purchased it because it is talc-free but It’s made with milled rice powder, which is as unsafe as talc. FYI: A recent study (of several brands of edible rice) found that rice from everywhere in the world, including California, contains arsenic and other unsafe insecticides, pesticides etc. (with brown organic rice containing the most because it is the least « cleaned up »). According to the study, « instant » or « minute » rice has the lowest concentration of unsafe chemicals because the surface chemicals have been rinsed mechanically and extensively prior to pre-cooking - the chemicals inside each grain are impossible to remove however. It is impossible in a home environment to reproduce the pressure necessary to remove all the contaminants on the surface of each grain of rice. The recommendation was to limit rice consumption especially for children.
