The webs and drips is what I think makes this logo, a lot of really cool embellishments that doesn't completely ruin legibility like all the jagged branches on most logos

Man i love the tutorial, this help me a lote to understand the process and how make a nice black metal aesthetics, but how you vetorize this logo?
Thanks mate, glad to hear it. For vectoring logos mate in Photoshop I usually export them super big, around 8000px at 300dpi and then image trace them in illustrator - you lose a wee bit of details that way, but it will get ya out of a pinch when needed

do you use a mouse while using the lasso tool to trace? those fine edges and points are sharp af.
Hi mate, hope you're good! I used a drawing tablet for pretty much everything I do in Photoshop - for this particular logo I was using a Huion Kamvas which I think I prefer over Cintiq's. You can grab a Kamvas for around the 500 quid mark and they are a worthy investment!

Nice one mate - do you mean free transforming the letters? After rasterising the text layer, you can simply copy and paste them onto new layers and then manipulate them as you please that way. Hey Ciarán, do you happen to know much about Inkscape? I know photoshop is generally the preferred logo making app, but...how could I put that layering you did on the font at 3:26 to make it "scratchy" or "edges" on the pre existing font? Calligraphic brushes basically? I'm using Inkscape, if anyone could chime in, I'd be grateful.
small tip - if u are a beginner use warping and perspective at the end
Unfortunately when texturing and detailing like this, if you warp at the end it will distort the texturing! Without the texture though it will certainly be no hassle to leave the warping until the end of the process

Hi mate, unfortunately the processes are pretty complicated and time consuming. However, I'd recommend checking out some tutorials on Photoshop basics, and once you feel you've got a good handle on the programme, come back to these videos and you'll be able to follow along much easier!
What command do you use to display those outlines in 5:17?
There inverted the black letters later into white, then put an internal black stroke on that layer mate - hope this helps boss, just shout if you've any more questions 🙏

How do you get your letters so pitted and spiky? I'm working in Krita and my tablet drawing for the lasso tool is so smooth that I can't emulate that without working in really fine detail lol
Hi mate, cheers for your comment - im afraid I don't have any experience using Krita, but when drawing with the lasso tool I intentionally draw as jagged and sharp as I can when making the selection before filling with black. I use a Huion Kamvas drawing tablet which is a display tablet and I find that helps achieving the real spiky edging. I hope this helps, and I encourage you to keep at it! The more you work in a certain style the more tricks you will discover along the way for the programme you are working in 🙏🙏

I've been able to follow your tutorial so far (I'm using Gimp 2.1.0) I know it's not the best but, I'm having some trouble with the lasso tool and the auto-filling function. If anyone knows how to do it in Gimp pls help
You could use the bucket fill tool to fill the lasso selection in GIMP. I think you press shift+B to select the bucket fill tool, then left click your selection to fill it with your chosen colour. Hope this helps!
